Sammy Carlson and CK9 Studios’ new project OVER TIME is a reminder to make your hours count.
There are a lot of unknowns in creating a high caliber ski film. You need a vision. You need storms to deliver snow. You need the weather to work in your favor. You need to consistently be at the top of your game. You need a good crew. You need good terrain. And more than anything, you need time for all of these things to align.
Filmed purely in the heart of the backcountry, Over Time’s got it all: Powder, pillows, lines, backcountry booters, and incredible follow-cams. It’s beautifully filmed and, of course, the skiing speaks for itself.
We hope it inspires you to use your time wisely. It's always snowing somewhere.

getting excited for 2022 ski season, rewatched this, and quite frankly it is the best skiing, filming, and editing I've maybe ever seen all put together.

Fair observation but the context of the statement has changed. In the first he's saying that time itself cannot be stopped/controlled (exactly what he said in the prelude to the second statement). In the first statement, 'time' is the subject and 'cannot be controlled' is the predicate. In the second statement he's saying that YOU can control what YOU can do with YOUR time. In the second statement it is implied (because he never actually says it) that 'you' are the subject and 'your ability to control your time' is the predicate. Waddya reckon? That's my interpretation.
Simplified: "You cannot control time" in the first statement means "time cannot be controlled". I.e. time is the subject. Not 'you'.
@@jonathanhalloran5350 I acknowledge your interpretation & agree with your point of view overall. That said, if we take his words at face value, he contradicts himself. Looks like we both agree on his first statement that time in itself is not controllable. In relation to his second statement, he did not say “what YOU do with YOUR time is controllable.” He said “even though time is unstoppable, it is controllable.” Which again would be relative to the subject of time in itself, now being controllable. It either is or it isn’t controllable & if nothing else, he could have worded it better.

WOW!!! I’ve become jaded the last few years by the same ol vids of great skiers, mountain bikers... BUT this is something fresh. And beautiful. The editing is absolutely masterful. It must have taken great time and effort to create a masterpiece like this. Major respect to all involved. Aside: It’s always been a pet peeve of mine that 95% of the time in scenes of great jumps and such you notice that the landing area has been hit many times previously... That it’s obvious the skier and film crew took a half dozen or so takes before they were satisfied with the perfect result. Hate that. In this vid there’s one take per scene for all but a few clips. So damn fine.
