Thanks, I started restoring an 1100 but it keeps getting pushed back for other projects, I must get that finished. Just not sure what color scheme to go with? It was a red/blue bike originally…
I did my 87 FZR-1000 the Marlboro Menthol bike, I did a Pepsi, a 7-UP, a Kool cigarettes, and Lucky Strike. I miss the good old days of my youth. Stay safe out there brothers.
Awesome job, well done 👏. Lots of fun to ride, so nimble. Now I have a 1986 GSX1100EF. Lovely torque motor, big fat padded seat. Anybody know where I can get a fairing for one?. I'm in New Zealand 🇳🇿. Cheers 🍻
Nicely Done Sir !, I'm doing exactly the same to an 86 GSXR750 right now. Id love to know the olive green colour you used on the hard oil lines and carb clamps
Thank you, I’ll try and dig up the codes, as it was a few years ago now. Good luck with the build, and great channel by the way! I’ll be following your progress….
I couldn't find the code on the Olive Drab, but I highly recommend the Cerakote C series coatings for components like this, as its very thin and extremely durable. C-244 is a close match. The paint itself was from RS Paint in the UK. 38852 Dark Green, 38853 Medium Green, 38854 Light Green, 38855 White.@@true-moto-resto
I'm 54 now. Last bike I bought was a new 2010 zx10r Special edition. I still have it. Only 11k miles on it. I only take it out on really nice days for getting some lunch or something like that. Will be the last bike I own. That and my Yamaha banchee I bought new in 2006.
I had a 2008 ZX10r, amazing bike. Like you, hit my 50’s and decided to slow down a bit. That’s why I love these bikes from the 80’s and 90’s. Loads of character, gets attention, and a massive grin ear to ear even on a gentle Sunday ride out!
@@MCSR52 the old bikes were absolutely unique for sure. My friend had the gsxr 1100. Back then they were amazing bikes. You really don't see them very much anymore. I used to love the old 2 stroke bikes as well.
Damn looking like coming out straight from the Hamamatsu plant. Masterpiece job.
had an 86 in skoal bandit colours when i was 20yrs old , looked almost exactly the same as yours, you've done an amazing job
Thank you, tried to do justice to the original.
Beautiful bike and beautiful restoration Andrew.
Incredible build. Well done for saving such an iconic masterpiece. 👏
Beautiful machine tastfully restored...
Thank you!
Incredible job, I’ve restored a 1986 GSXR1100 but not to this standard.

I always thought that the 7-up livery looked so good. I remember seeing an RD350LC in that, blew my mind! Might have been Dream Machine in the UK.
Beautiful GSXR!
this is class viewing. really enjoyed it.
Speechless …
Cracking job

My first street bike was 1987 gsxr 750.
Truck pulled out in front of me. Broke the frame in 5 spots.
