- Happy Monday family,
Lozi and Sotho Collabo part 2.I am excited for this episode. We get to learn about the Lozi 🇿🇲& Sotho 🇿🇦 Culture. I am grateful to our guests Mr Lemo and Bo Patra.
My wife and I have developed so much interest of in Lozi and have now decided that next year, God willing, we are visiting Zambia and specifically where the Lozi people are. We are Pedi/northern sotho and your Lozi is much much closer to our dialect Khilobedu
That would really be nice.Would you and your wife be interested in appearing in one of the episodes? We would love to learn more about your dialect Khilobedu :)
True it sounds more like khulibedu
@@sibesokehindeit definitely sounds like khilobedu guys let's connect and trace our ancestry ❤
I think for part 3, it would be interesting for you to add about the traditional marriage ceremonies between the two cultures, similarities and differences. I know many people would love to know more than just the attires and all.
Girl I love this...Note taken.Yes this would be an interesting video to record.
This is rich culture for Lozis n Sothos....go go God 🙌
This guy is representing lesotho not south African sothos.our history is not the same.he must be a freestate based mosotho from lesotho.

You will enjoy your visit :)
They were not taken, they are the Basotho's that moved from Free State to Zambia.
According to history
I’m interested to find out about their relationship to the Balobedi/Balozwi/Barotse in Limpopo SA because I don’t think it is just a coincidence that those people in Limpopo are called Barotse and are not related to the Lizo’s in Zambia
Basotho, balobedu, bapedi, bapulana, batswana, balozi Barodzwi bakalanga are one and the same not cousins but one people.
Absolutely! It's fascinating how these cultures share so many similarities and histories. Unity in diversity is truly beautiful.
We also have mahleu in sesotho
I LOVE.... I LOVE.... I LOVE....
Thank you for your support always.I am looking foward to part 3 😀💃🏽
Balozi are from Bafokeng Tribe who lived in now Free State province near Bethlehem, they fled to Zambia because of Batlokoa of Queen Mathatisi raids. Ntate forgot to mention that we celebrate our new year in August-Sepember each year and initiation season. And we where colonized by the Boers/Dutch hence our land became The Republik of Orange Free State now Free State province.
Apparently my surname is same as king sebetoane
Mala le mogodu - intestines
Bohobe - steamed bread
Maheu is mahleu in Sotho but mageu is in Tswana
Please share your emails. There Sepedi language in Limpopo province and we share common language as Sotho.

Yes they do..Mum Patra mentioned it in one video
Tell us about surnames and praise names if possible.
Thank you for the support. Will look into it 😊
Basotho own their land in Lesotho
Ah really! That is good to know.Thank you for your comment :)
My man dont confuse are fellows, u r speaking on perception of Lesotho not South Africa
The Lozi people were also protectorates of the British, then when Zambia got independence they combined the Barotseland and Northern Rhodesia. That's why there's been talks of the Lozis wanting their nation back. Just came upon this channel and am loving it. Keep it up
You absolutely correct. Barotseland was a protectorate just like Botswana
Intestine is tripes which mala mohodu in sotho in tswana they call it mala mogodu
Thank you for your comment 😊

This was a very lovely and interesting video to watch. I really enjoyed learning about the lozi and sotho culture☺️☺️but I can’t imagine eating nsima with salt and the fact that the sotho’s cook it until it’s hard😧Yes, in Zambia we like the nsima mid soft🙌🏽
I just saw this comment..Thank you for your support hun..I miss eating green mangoes with salt 🤣😅
I want to know why eating goat or using a goat for a traditional ceremony is a bad sign for the sotho?😮 and the intestines are known as ‘tripe’ which is a very delicious dish😋
Goats are mainly used by the Ngunis

Enjoyed this. Well done Sibeso. Did you guys have a zoom meeting?
Thank you for your support Bucky.I am glad to hear you enjoyed the show. Please do you have suggestions on what we should record next? Yes we had the zoom call.
@@sibesokehinde I sure missed out on that zoom call
Basutoland (as the british called it) was also under colonial rule. Our commonalities with Barotse people requires deeper research than present. I suggest you invite our historians and Linguists to give an educated perspective.
Lozi's have "Likobe" which is maize sample. I think samename with Dikobe except sothos has a mixture of ingredients.
Very true dearest. I had a lot to share but camera shy.. likobe and namundalangwe wa ku feta..
Thank you for you support and contribution bo Simasiku
We have "dikgobe" in Setswana same meaning
@@patraimbwela3581 Likhobe in Sesotho. Pronounced Dikgobe also in Setswana.
"Mose" Mosese" dress in Sesotho. Mesese Lozi
Is it a similar design as a lozi cultural dress?
Dikgobe is made out of dried corn.
Seanamarena is a “cape”, like superman 😂,
Or “cloak” worn by European kings in modern day. It basically “covers lords” 😁
Thank you for your support and contribution.Thats good to know 🙂
Your silozi comes from bulobedu language called khelobudu/khilozwi
No it doesn’t come Selobedu but yes there are relations because yes I know selobedu is also called khilozwi
Lemohang speaks like a Catholic priest, very calm. Good insights
we cannot embrace western religions and how they do things. as Africans we are who we are and noncomparable to any nations, they are who they are because of us.
Insightful😊
Thank you for the support
