  • Muhammad Jamil, R&D engineer at StarFish Medical, shares how Computational Modeling and Simulation (CMS) is changing the medical device development landscape. CMS can result in cost and time savings up to 100 times.
Traditionally, companies have relied on bench testing, animal testing, and clinical trials to de-risk medical devices. There's definitely a paradigm shift happening in the medical device industry, especially how regulatory bodies such as Health Canada and FDA are not only accepting simulation generated digital evidence as part of submissions, but also encouraging its increasing use in the medical device development process.
Muhammad Jamil, PhD, is a Research and Development (R&D) Engineer in the Design and Analysis group at Starfish Medical. As part of the design and development team, he specializes in using Computational Modeling and Simulation in making design decisions and to accelerate the medical device development.
