That explains why it felt so much like exactly the type of thing i would write if i had writing skill and talent. It just felt. .. yes this is a very intuitive way to tell a story, this feels familiar to the point of feeling cliche without anyone having ever done it before so it literally can't be cliché, that's just the intense familiarity of it talking
This explains everything. Listening to this video explains so many new things about my life. Especially the self pitty party I had gone through after I was diagnosed with ADHD was so real. We all think what ifs and regret that we could have diagnosed earlier. Felt so validated to feel that way..I was ashamed of that too...
I haven’t watched this movie yet but I will sit down with my husband tomorrow night and watch it. I’ve just been diagnosed at 52. Everything you talked about resonates with me. I had no idea the movie included the theme of ADHD. Perhaps this will help my oh so very neurotypical husband understand better what it’s like inside this brain. ❤
I am spot on the same as her, For me I call "the constant vibrations in your skull" I describe it as "soft TV static" and it made people so confused but I'll start to use her metaphor instead. Thanks for this upload and thanks to Ariel for sharing her story!
I'm a bit annoyed that they expected you to get your anxiety under control before you could get ADHD meds. It was only after getting meds that I could get my anxiety under control. I dunno; the doctor who treated me wasn't an ADHD specialist so maybe she did have it backwards. Anyway, I now see why I enjoyed Everything, Everywhere, All At Once more than my spouse did because he doesn't have that ADHD perspective. I had to watch it twice in two days because it was just so enlightening to me. I was so excited to share it with him and he thought it was just okay. I couldn't explain to him that this is my mind; this is how I am. But maybe now I can. Thanks!
Oh completely. My anxiety didn’t get under control till I got back on my medication. I am glad I have a doctor who understands. Adhd is such a struggle sometimes. I get comments on my symptoms that “ everyone goes through that” when it’s not true. Not to the extreme like we have it. We cannot access our long-term memory when it is needed. We also have an issue with our short-term memory reason why we put our phone down and forget a second later where it went . Or when we are about to do a task like go and do the laundry but then we get distracted by something else but forget that we had to go do the laundry in the first place. I don’t need validation from others, but I am sadden by how people think we don’t have a issue with able to do every day life.
