I made one this morning! Shared on your FB page and getting lots of likes! Have a feeling more of the members will be giving this a try! It was a fun experience and I will make more. ❤️
What a great idea Debra -- I used to paint silk back in the day with the 'appropriate' (and expensive) materials but it was a too-involved process for me -- it never occurred to me to use alcohol ink! I'm loving mixed media these days and I will definitely try this out for incorporating into projects -- *thanks* for sharing this ❤
Oh I’m so thrilled you enjoyed this tutorial!!! It was a lot of fun to make! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, and for tuning in! Happy New year!!!
Happy New Year! So good that you got through all that holiday work to get back to playing. These are very beautiful. Does the worry about bleeding onto other fabrics when wearing, ever stop?
These turned out beautifully. And so much fun to watch. A lady at a local Christmas market had hand painted scarves for sale and I’m sure wishing I had bought one. Happy New Year to you and yours Debra.
I have the scarf folded in half and the pigment monoprints on the the folded section too, below that to cover my work surface is a drop cloth I use on my work table all the time, I wash it a lot so it’s not full of active pigments….its more stained then anything.
I get confused on my beginner and I’m told to pre-wash my scarf and water with a little bit detergent and then rinse it. Let it dry and then iron it. But you were steaming yours right away? I will be using so do you suggest washing the scarf first with a littledetergent or softener or what? I need help by the way I love your videos.
I didn’t wash mine prior, not really necessary. But, steaming it helped to not have to work on those folded areas. If you happen to wash first don’t put any fabric softening on it as it might creates. Enjoy!!

Love this! Happy New Year Debra.
I’m glad you liked it!!! Thanks for tuning in, and Happy New Year!!!
Really beautiful scarves you created Debra. I had no idea to use alcohol inks. Was transfer a big issue once washed and dried?
Thank you! Just wash separately.
How much alcohol to pigment? Please advise.🙏
So GORGEOUS!! Super GORGEOUS!! So how long do you stop having to be careful with the pimento getting into surfaces or clothing?
Thank you! Someone in my group said she set hers with salt and vinegar.
Thank you
What are you painting the scarf on top of! There are a lot of colors on it , don’t they bleed into the new scarf? Thanks!!
