I’m so happy to find your channel! Thank you for inviting us into your studio and showing us your method of painting a silk scarf. It’s evident of your love and care in creating this gorgeous scarf. I hope one day I may try to create a hand painted silk scarf for myself.
Your home made steamer is genius! Considering the small fortune they cost to purchase, and how convenient yours is, what a great idea; thank you so much for sharing it, as well as your beautiful art works.
Love the way you present the process in such direct and simplified version, giving tips along the way while you didnt keep repeating yourself or chit chatting about other irrelevant things just to stretch the video. Greatly appreciated! Love you for caring about the environment when doing business. We should all be mindful not to over pckage products for excessive dress up. Thank you.
I’m so happy I came across your channel. Your time, effort, and the love you put in your work makes a big difference; the outcome is remarkable. I learned so much from you today, and don’t worry your video was self explanatory. I can’t wait to give it a try.
Thank you for showing the packaging. The stickers are nice. Beautiful scarf! I like silk painting because it has everything I like to do. Paint, fabric, clothing, image design. I am just learning and did my resist today. Tomorrow I paint. I have tried many art forms and none financially successful. Perhaps scarves will be.
Thank you. This was lovely just as all of your videos are- lots of good tips and helpful information. This is one of the best channels for silk painting on RUclips.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad to hear that you're enjoying the tutorials. Your support means a lot to me and encourages me to keep creating. 😊
@@MiuArtStudioUK- I have been very inspired by you and am dabbling in a little bit of silk painting using acrylic paints/colours. I have an A2 size picture in the planning and painted my own design silk Christmas cards this year. I have picked up so many tips about using nibs and freezer paper for creating the outlines too. If I lived closer I would gladly attend one of your workshops. Next year, 2025, I hope to introduce members of my local art group to silk painting too. I still need to make a long frame. I have bought a wood frame for my A2 picture. But I find you to be an amazing person. I love your videos, honesty and perseverance. You are such a fantastic role model. 😊 I still don’t know how to join your community though? I don’t use Instagram, but I do use FB. - though I don’t like the new metaverse thingy. I find it too intrusive of my privacy. 🥴
Miu thank you very much for explaining in such detail the whole process of painting silk. Your videos are some of the best I've found so far. You show great generosity. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us
That's fantastic to hear! I'm delighted you found both the silk painting and marketing tips helpful. Thanks for the positive feedback, and I'm here to provide more value in future videos! 🎨
I keep coming back to look at this lovely piece of art. I noticed you painted the centre of the feathers with yellow but then painted over top with blue . When you turned it over, the yellow appeared to still be yellow. Does the blue not blend into green?
Thank you for wonderful video. I paint silk for couple years and it always makes me happy and excited. I always say if you could paint a poem or music silk is the medium. Part about is branding so good and straight forward.
I really enjoyed watching your whole process down to your beautiful, thoughtful packaging. Thank you for doing your part for our environment and keep on creating your lovely art and sharing with us.
I love your tutorial and have used your suggestions when working on my own scarves. Can you tell me (all of us) what type of clip you're using to attach the scarf to the frame? Everything I've been using marks the silk.
Hello, and thank you for the kind words! I'm thrilled you like the peacock design. Currently, I don't sell the patterns, but your interest is certainly encouraging. I'll consider making patterns available in the future. Thanks for stopping by!
hello, thank you for the content of the video, it means a lot to me. i have a problem: my dye fades and dulls when it comes to hot water (usually fades yellow), do you have any way to fix it? i usually steam for 1 hour
I deleted the timeline by accident, I am sorry... would you like to help me by sharing the highlighted timeline from your perspective? I will truly appreciate that! and I think people who find it useful will thank you too! 🤗
Thank you 😊 Yes, here is the link to the video of the painting on the gutta side, ruclips.net/video/56Z6aBygung/видео.html, and there are more on the list, enjoy!
Thank you for the great video. Some paints for silk say you can iron set the colors. Do you think this works as well as your steaming process or not? TIA
Thank you for your kind words! In my experience, it's usually best to follow the manufacturer's instructions. I once tried steam-fixing iron-fixed paint, and unfortunately, the fabric turned as hard as paper. I've avoided that method since. I hope this information is helpful to you! :)
Thank you 😊. No, after steam I rainse the scarf under running cold water to wash away extra colours also testing the fixing result. It's normal to have a little bit colour in the water but should be soon clearing up, otherwise it means the colours haven't fixed properly, because the temperature or time not enough.
great work. Can i ask if 50 people wanted this design you would have to do this individually each time? or is there a way to mass produce hand painted designs on silk?
Hi Miu greatly appreciate your way of teaching so extensively! Just want to know how you decide for how much time steaming is it going to take for a piecefor the paint to fix?
Hi Rohin, thank you! It is a standard steaming time for hand painted silk scarves. 3 hours fix the colours permanently, otherwise the colours will fade in washes quickly.
@@MiuArtStudioUK thank you so much . i just used fabric liner. it actually hurts after a couple of minutes. the plastic bottle is so hard . i ll have to use gutta . but too expensive as i m a beginner. can you recommend something that is pocket friendly

Wow! Ma’am is it important to steam it . And after wash cloth will shrink or not ? Plz tell . My english is not good just trying to understand . Thanks dear 🙏
Thank you Mandeep, yes it is very important to steam the scarf, it's the color-fixing process, this process will make the handpainted scarf washable. Don't worry, silk does not shrink. (no problem, my English is not that good either 😛)

חייב לעשות את כל התהליך ששמת באידוי? או שפשוט לגהץ וזהו? זה מה שתופש את הצבעים?

Fantastic job and great teaching. Thank you. Is this washable at home? after steaming gutta fixed or after wash its remove.
Thank you too!
Yes, it's washable at home, use a few drops of mild washing products, then rinse gently with cold running water.
צריך לגהץ גם אחרי הצביעה וגם אחרי השטיפה? שוטפים במים חמים? או פושרים? מה זה גוטה? תוחם?
Hi, this video is great. Would you place the scarf in cold salt water after steaming it to prevent the color from running?
Thank you 😊. No, after steam I rainse the scarf under running cold water to wash away extra colours also testing the fixing result. It's normal to have a little bit colour in the water but should be soon clearing up, otherwise it means the colours haven't fixed properly, because the temperature or time not enough.
@@MiuArtStudioUK Thank you!
Is this for every scarf? To put gutta on the upper part and paint on the lower part
No it’s just for this one it depends on the design of the scarf.
May I ask, do you completely seal the Scarf in the foil so that none of it is exposed to steam?
Yes, I sometimes doule layer the silk.
@@MiuArtStudioUK Thank you.
Thank you MIU for this tutorial video. If I want to learn how will I do??? I live in Togo (West AFRICA)
Search for your local supplier and I have a list with the items on my website www.miuartstuido.co.uk

Very beautiful. How can I buy one?
Thanks for supporting my studio, I have messaged you on Etsy.
Thank you Miu, do you wait for the gutta to dried before painting ?
Yes, have to wait until it dies completely. Some tips in this video: ruclips.net/video/R6vqV7jrMfw/видео.html
great work. Can i ask if 50 people wanted this design you would have to do this individually each time? or is there a way to mass produce hand painted designs on silk?
Hi there, I take 3 orders maximum at a time to keep my top quality. Mass production may fit in somewhere but I have never tried.

can i use fabric liner in place of gutta

Hi. My gutta came off in the rinse water. Do you know why?
Maybe the temperature/time was not enough in the steam process?
how do you advertise and get your client base?
I have a Etsy shop, FB page and website on building.
Newbie question: If it's not supposed to get wet, wouldn't baking it in the oven also set it? Haha sorry if this sounds stupid, I'm just curious.
Curious is the beginning of creativity😊 some silk painters do use the oven, I have never tried.
