As one born in Malawi many moons ago who no longer lives there but whose memories & love for the country remains deeply embedded within me, this was a truly inspirational speech from the President of the country.
Having listened to Malawi President, Lazarus Chakwera's address to the UN General Assembly, as an African, I'm greatly inspired by the President's presentation of matters which affect our development agenda. The issue of Africa's position on the Security Council is critical to Africa's participation and contribution to the global development and security agenda. We salute you Mr. President.
Good speech but the intended audience was quick to leave the arena. Where are the presidents of countries in the UN security council? Truth hurts but it has to be told.

He promised people, when he will becoming a President, he will do as possible as Malawians to eat 3 times by day, so buy now to eat 1 time is difficult. You people are just deliberately ignoring the fact that his reign has faced tough times. His AIP fertiliser program increased the harvest in 2021 something Malawi never experienced before. Since he became president Malawi has never asked for maize from Zambia something which was a routine in the past

Don't mind his speech, he's good at delivering speeches not the promises to his people. At the moment his country doesn't have foreign currency, there's no fuel and most people have parked their cars at home because of Luck of fuel. But guess what, he took 47 cabinet ministers with him to attend this UN meeting. Where did he get the foreign currency to pay 47 peoples allowances?.because those people are not getting paid in his currency.
For Malawians, if they could remember how the UN destroyed their food subsidy and gave them just one type of grain where its price,demand and market is controlled by the monopoly structure in the framework of the IMF and World Bank

You don't know what United Nations is all about,UN has an allocation of money for natural disasters to it's members and Malawi is one of its member states to have the prevelage. It would be asking for doners if he had asked a body that his country doesn't belong to.
And it's not about how big or small the audience is, It's about the platform the speech is delivered from and to whom it goes. Do u think those speeches ends there? Do u think it is the multitude that responds to speech? UN is well organised body and what the presidents are doing is just to deliver the message, so even if there was no body but as long as the speech is recorded the council will respond on their time...it's up to them to ignore or not but it's not about the audience in attendance.
