If excel did not work for you, I’d suggest following my tutorial in Rstudio cloud to compare your excel output. This will help you troubleshoot.

I have 30 items do I need to include all 30 items for calculating cronbach Alpha or need to split the items into half?

That is totally dependent on your research question and if the items you are using belong to different scales or represent different dimensions.
