Im not a sprinter running in official meets and competitions but its kind of a life long gole to be very fast and atheletic . Can anyone give some tips on how ican achieve it or what type of training shall i do
I’m a power jumper and have a pretty good max vert off one (40.5”) but am pretty weak at every lift. Could focusing on max strength more benefit me in my specific case? Just wondering because my situation is different than most
more context: I’m pretty elastic with an rsi score of 2.8 but have characteristics of a power jumper (jump better at lower speeds, longer ground contact, low knee drive)
When I run, I already have pretty short ground contact times and am able to cycle my legs quickly but I’m pretty weak in my squat, clean, etc. Is it a good idea to prioritize them (make the ratio closer to 60;40) for a bit in the early off season?
I like the message. I would even claim that squats should be avoided. We don't need them to get faster. There are way better exercise /methods. Instead most of strength work should focus on the core/center. Sprinting is the most challenging core exercise!
Yea I havent programmed a bilateral squat for my athletes in years, mainly single leg work and I wouldn't even say it's necessary, just too much proof from top coaches at this point
Does change of direction require more muscle (max strength) than pure linear sprinting? Or is agility also an elastic endeavor? I would thihk there is more yielding in change of direction and acceleration than in pure top speed running?
it's hard to say exactly yes or no, but I will say acceleration and change of direction is more muscle-dominant, but doesn't mean its not elastic and still requires fast contraction time and GCT
I run 12.6 in the 100m at 14 year old currently 6 months from the season my current squat is 155lbs deadlift 225lbs and bench 135 lbs should I be focusing on building more speed and power or should I be focusing on strength?

Can you do a video on off season training
That’s literally 90% of my videos any aspect of training is usually meant for the off season time or even in season too
