You got a great channel, sir. You're definitely inspiring me to go out and do more woodwork!

Hey thanks, I love hearing that! What I love about woodworking is that you don’t have to go to the shop and commit to fully finishing “a thing” all in one session, but can make progress on a project, and it’s still a good day! Please consider subscribing, my channel is still young, at about 2 months old but will be adding to the library as we go along!

Hi William, thanks for watching and your comment! Still very new to RUclips and figuring it out as I go. If you'd care to, please consider subscribing as my channel is really young (two months or so) and every subscription helps me reach more people. Thanks again and have a great day!

I've really liked using V7, hope you do as well. Super handy to just bring 4" direct to the machine! Thanks, and consider subscribing if you haven't had the chance to yet!

Just found your channel and I am really enjoying your delivery of valuable information. I plan on ordering the ONEFINITY Woodworker X50. I am new to CNC. Is it possible to take a photograph of something, say a historic building, and convert the jpeg photo into a carving with Vcarve Pro?

Hi Jeff, thanks very much for watching, and your comment. If you haven’t had a chance yet, I’d invite you to consider subscribing so you’ll be aware of future videos.
My onefinity arrived in February, and is my first CNC. My primary use of it is to augment furniture building, templates and the odd thing or two as needed. I have not previously used it for 3D relief, 2.5d or lithography type of work like you’re describing, but the machine is fully capable of doing all of that and more.
There is a great Facebook group at the following link, with users who use their machines in a variety of ways, including what you were asking about, you might find it useful to check it out.
      That link is: facebook.com/groups/onefinitycnc/
Thanks again Jeff, and have a great day!

I had the V7 on my Shapeoko Pro XXL and loved it, I just switched today to the V2 and I think I like it even better, you can actually see what the bit is doing at all times, and the boot is independant from the router, and stays stationary. I always 3d print the parts that are printable(Daniel @PWNCNC shares the stl files for the biggest portion of his products on Thingiverse) and then I buy all the hardware kits to complete them from PWNCNC. The detail he puts into his work, is unmatched, everything I have printed and put together has fit perfect. That being said, I have a question, what is that clamp you are using in this video, I haven't seen those and it looks very interesting.

Hi Doyle, yeah, Im impressed with PwnCNC. If you mean the squeeze clamp at the end of my 4" hose, its this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071WCZ36W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I was actually talking about the clamp you are holding your workpiece with.

@@spikester1968 oh I’m sorry I misunderstood. I have a couple festool MFT3 tables in my shop, and this side clamps are used in conjunction with bench dogs. They’re called clamping elements, and I’ll toss a link below. If I didn’t already have them Pre-CNC, I would have found a lower cost alternative, but they turned out to be handy on my spoilboard work holding strategy. www.amazon.com/dp/B000JNEC1Q/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_X32HTY0JWZEK1X8T4GW6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I am planning a similar setup with this dust boot and 4" hose, can you share the interior height of your enclosure? I like your idea of the flanges and want to make sure I leave enough height above the z motor to allow the hose to rotate as needed. Thanks!

Hi Howard, Thanks for taking the time to view, and comment I really do appreciate it.
I'm in the middle of a refit due to upgrading to the journeyman X rail, so the enclosure is not currently in place, but I recall it being 32" interior height. If you head on over to the Onefinity facebook group, there are probably a lot of folks with a current set up in place that can tell you what they're running for interior height. If you have additional head room, 36 would for sure be safe.
If you haven't had a chance yet, and are willing, I'd love to ask you to subscribe in order to help me get the word out to more people who might be interested. Thanks again and have a great day!

Very helpful video, thank you! I'm looking at getting either a 1.0hp Grizzly G0710 (537 cfm) or a 1.5hp Grizzly G0944 (1250 cfm). Do you think 537 cfm would be sufficient? I am planning on getting the X50 Journeyman and I will mount the dust extractor as close to the CNC as possible with as little ducting/flexhose as possible. The extractor will be dedicated to only the CNC. I am open to other extractors if you have suggestions, but I need a small one and preferably below ~$700. Thanks again!

    • @TradeSkillersAnonymous
      @TradeSkillersAnonymous  Год назад

Hi Jonny, I think if the smaller unit were mounted really close to the machine, and limited use of the flex hose, you’d be okay. Flex hose destroys air flow, so the more you use, the more cfm you lose. If it’s in the budget, a 1.5 HP would be preferred, and would possible be able to service other nearby machines. Thanks for checking out the video, and I’d invite you to subscribe while you’re here. Thanks and have a great day!
