I definitely agree that bright and loud "RAINBOW PRIDE" products are a little too much or a big turn off, especially when you want to wear/use it on a regular basis instead of just during pride month or a pride event (also not as safe if you want to own a pride item but live in an anti-queer environment). Subtle pride products for the win!
"Love is love" is too overused and outdated, to be honest. I also don't like that phrase because it doesn't feel inclusive for trans, non-binary, genderfluid, genderqueer people because gender identity/expression has nothing to do with who you're romantically/sexually attracted to.
It is overused and outdated. I don't see how it's not inclusive because it's such a neutral and broad statement that can fit almost everyone. For some of us it's different, but it's something that works for people in general.
8:24 I think the words are what the original colors of the rainbow pride flag symbolized! The red is for life, orange is for healing, etc. I think it's a well thought out design because it acknowledges the history of the queer community, but I do agree that the text is a bit hard to read from a distance/at an angle
btw the rainbow words on the shirt at 8:25 are the original meanings of those colors on the pride flag, which I think is a v cool concept, but the font and the main shirt color are ugly af and make it hard to read.
my biggest problem with that one Gilbert Baker-inspired tee is that they didn't go all the way with it. I understand target wouldn't want to sell a shirt with the word "sex" on it (which is fair), but it makes the final design come across as incomplete and half-assed. the colours don't even resemble the ones in Baker's original design, not to mention the poor readability. it just comes across like they didn't think it through
I love you so much for editing this down and not just keeping it at stream length. I don’t watch streams. I don’t want to watch streams especially when they’ve already happened. I don’t have the attention span to watch the raw ass footage of a stream. God bless you
it would be cool if Target hired indie artists to make some dope, sick, visually innovative ideas for these graphic tees :,c the ones they pump out fall flat in terms of graphic design. likeee they could get Carles Dalmau to make some whimsical ahh tee with pride dragons or pride cryptids yknow?!
0:19 when you said "daddy" i was like nuh, YOURE daddy 😭😭🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 youre so beautiful and handsome and ahh i just found your channel and u give fire fashion advice !!! :]]
yeah i think i was more so referring to the commercialized version rather than the community version 🙏 do what you will you will probably find me wearing some at some point
The welcome mat is really cute. I actually love the black crossbody with the rainbow strap, it's super cute but also really practical. And pet merch always freaking slaps. It's so cute??? My cat has the pride mice and they're adorable. But the rainbow scratchers? Omg. I might have to order that for him. 🫢 I honestly disliked all the clothes. Also, I think the tees at least used to go to a 4X? Where is the size inclusivity? I'm completely unimpressed there.

As an aroace that phrase has never resonated with me, personally.
@@au_barb I'm aroace too! Glad we both agree that phrase doesn't resonate with us a-spec people.
and the pedos keep hijacking it 🙄

I said that for many years and thought it was my personal phrase. Who knew it was a thing?

Yeah same, I noticed that I thought it was cool.
Yeah I love the words it’s a very awesome subtle pride item because I don’t think a homophobic person would understand that BUT I hate the colors
yay awesome vid as always (:
i like how you didnt just full in roasted them but you actually put in the time to critique the clothes
thank u it is very hard for me to be a hater lmfao

much needed context omg how did i not know this lmfaooo
but they took out the purple one that stands for sex 0.0
Big props to the Pedro Pascal coaster! I platonically adore Pedro Pascal. 💜

no cos i feel like the mushroom crystal top had SO much potential if they had kept the design and colours without the words

The pride pet products are the best part of this video. Would 100% buy if not for capitalism.
12:00 I'm pretty sure that they discontinued it in some areas because their employees were getting threats, if i remember correctly
Your name origin story is adorable 🌈
🥰🌈
This is gonna be a good one ❤️
(It was) ^v^
Always slaysss😊✨
💅
This was super entertaining to watch and you looked great in this video! (Not that it’s a rare occurrence.) ✨
awe thanks for watching!!
These did not suck as hard as i thought they would! Or maybe just iris's opinions changed my mind👀
it certainly could’ve been worse ☝️😭
@@irisolympia they've been worse🤷♀️
You’re so right about them putting the colors in weird places and at weird saturations. Like it’s basic graphic design babe,,,this looks like shit ❤
litrallyyyy
I really liked this video
will never forgive them 4 removing the swimwear :(
nice video :)
It's Target... but the designs are so gay but not queer. Like none of the queer people I know would actually wear these clothes.
Happy Pride everyone! I think that the homewares and the pet stuff was good but I sort of hated the clothing.
happy pride! 🌈
@@irisolympia Thank you SO much! Happy Pride to you as well.
5:25 well, there are a lot of wars going on rn, Ukraine and Israel/ Palestine, so i think peace signs would be more visible again naturally

Yes I need longer crop tops that hide my belly button
You are so beautiful ❤❤❤
Its not a very grate pride selection, but i could see some queer familly managing to look very cute wearing it to a festival or whatever😊
rainbow capitalism 😙
The pride clothing is so bad
