Roberto Ochoa I’m gonna be honest I feel like the people of the world’s best did Dimash really dirty. Simply due to the fact that the songs were really short like 45 seconds to a minute. Secondly on his final performance he let the kids move forward and sacrificed himself. One of the three American judges called him disrespectful.

Dimash is in his 20's, from Khazakstan. This performance was his second in a Chinese competition called "I Am Singer." Before the competition, he was a local hit, but globally unknown. His first performance, the crowd didn't know who he was or what he was capable of. They were simply happy the show was starting. He went on to place second (somehow?) and blew up on the international stage. He has one of the largest vocal ranges of any singer I've ever seen. He sings well in low registers, and is well known for being able to hit notes that are difficult for even professionally trained female singers to hit. You should check out his performance of "Unforgettable Day" at the Gakku concert - he sustains a D8 (yes, that's a note) whistle for about 5 seconds, with vibrato added. It's one of the most inhuman things I've ever seen a singer do. Both of his parents were classically trained singers who began training him when he was old enough to speak. You should check out all of his Singer performances, some of his live concert stuff, and his singles he has produced since then. Not only will it be fun (and your mind will continually be blown), but your channel will grow exponentially. Us Dimash fans are prone to browsing around for people watching Dimash just to see their reactions. :P

Welcome to the world of Dimash, Dear! This was just to thrill the crowd, and he was just playing around with his vocals. You should watch the Singer 2017 series in order. Opera 2 was the second episode, but the song that won the crowd and everyone watching at home was episode 1, where he blew everyone's mind with SOS. Please check it out, then episode 3, 4, etc. When you get to episode 8, Dimash had to have injections in his throat just to perform. I was good, but not his best. You should watch his rendition of Daybreak from his Bastau concert to hear it in all it's glory. In episode 12, Dimash sings Confessa followed by Diva Dance. While Diva Dance is good in this performance, again, it is much better in his Bastau concert. Dimash returned to Singer in 2018 as a guest singer, where he sang Lionel Richie's Hello. He recorded a pop single, Screaming, which is accompanied with a video. His latest performances were in Sochi, singing Sinful Passion, and Love of Tired Swans at the Kremlin in Moscow. Oh... and he did a concert in London last month. Please check him out!!!

I really like the genuine shocked reaction that you consistently showed, this being the first time you listened to Dimash, and to Opera 2 which really showcases his upper register range. Another professional singer, Brazilian Fabricio Bambam, who knows about the great Russian singer Vitas original rendition of Opera 2, even commented that he was really amazed at the apparent audacity of Dimash in trying to outdo Vitas two times over. But since he can comfortably do it, why not, right?
He is from Kazakhstan, was 22 here, he is 25 now. He is a trained opera singer, has a 6 octave range, perfect pitch and can sing an unbelievable D8, so this was nothing near his best. He sings in many languages and plays a range of instruments, all to high standard. He is a phenomenon💖

Hi Nya, Awesome reaction, as others have told you Dimash is Kazakh and he was invited onto this Chinese singing competition as the wildcard, totally unknown to the Chinese but became overnight sensation. Speaking only Kazakh and Russian he insists on singing each song in its native language which resulted in him having to learn it within the weeks rehearsal between shows and on Singer 2017 (youngest ever performer at only 22, he turned 23 after the competition ended) he sang in French, English, Italian, Mandarin, Russian and Kazakh. I can see you've done Ep1 SOS which im just going to watch and I hope you will follow his Singer 2017 journey … 14 episodes (He didn't perform in ep11 cos he was already through to finals) and he done so much since - plenty to go at !! 👌👌😊

Don't get me wrong I love me some Bluesy Chris Stapleton (with some "stank" on it) but this dude is outta this world.. Just in case you were curious, the older man in the audience they keep cutting to (the one who pumps his fist in the air at the end) is Dimash's dad, who had come from Kazakhstan to watch him compete. Dimash didn't actually know he was there until after the show was taped. His father had kept everything a secret from him because he didn't want him to be distracted from his performance.

I am happy to see your reaction and hope that you continue to watch Dimash. Dimash was invited from his country Kazakhstan to perform on the Singer show as the wild card. Singer is a competition between professionals and Dimash is the youngest performer on the show. He started Singer at age 22 turning 23 shortly after. SOS was his first performance and it is fun to watch the reactions of the his fellow contestants backstage and of the audience. It is important to keep reacting to Singer 2017 first because this is where Dimash became famous worldwide. Every performance is totally different and you will love him way before it ends. This song is mostly just to show part of his range - the "part" is not a joke - his range is from F2 to D8. There are much better songs than this one. He was just 22 years old here and he is classically trained since age 5 with perfect pitch. Dimash is from Kazakhstan (a former Soviet country) - therefore he is fluent in Kazakh and Russian and since this show last year learning Chineese and English, but he sings in about 13 different languages.
i first heard this song about a decade ago, sung by the famous Russian singer Vitas. Vitas is a very fine singer in his own right. Vitas executed one key change, as I recall. I was shocked, really. He had plenty of power in that upper register, too. The video is still up on RUclips, you can find it with search. In his 2017 performance of the song, Dimash executed *3* key changes. It seems effortless for him. Recognize that the high notes are not sung by either of them in a plain falsetto. Both singers are using a modified falsetto, mixed chest and head voice, to strengthen the sound. Opera 2 is pretty much a gimmick song. I don't think any other male singers exist who could do justice to it. Operatic counter-tenors could do it in true falsetto, but with a mixed voice? That's something that has to be practiced, a lot. I'm sure some female singers could tackle the song; the low notes would be challenging, but some female singers might be able to pull it off. But I've never heard a woman attempt the song. I would be eager to hear them try!

I really like the genuine shocked reaction that you consistently showed, this being the first time you listened to Dimash, and to Opera 2 which really showcases his upper register range. Another professional singer, Brazilian Fabricio Bambam, who knows about the great Russian singer Vitas original rendition of Opera 2, even commented that he was really amazed at the apparent audacity of Dimash in trying to outdo Vitas two times over. But since he can comfortably do it, why not, right?
He is from Kazakhstan, was 22 here, he is 25 now. He is a trained opera singer, has a 6 octave range, perfect pitch and can sing an unbelievable D8, so this was nothing near his best. He sings in many languages and plays a range of instruments, all to high standard. He is a phenomenon💖

Hi Nya, Awesome reaction, as others have told you Dimash is Kazakh and he was invited onto this Chinese singing competition as the wildcard, totally unknown to the Chinese but became overnight sensation. Speaking only Kazakh and Russian he insists on singing each song in its native language which resulted in him having to learn it within the weeks rehearsal between shows and on Singer 2017 (youngest ever performer at only 22, he turned 23 after the competition ended) he sang in French, English, Italian, Mandarin, Russian and Kazakh. I can see you've done Ep1 SOS which im just going to watch and I hope you will follow his Singer 2017 journey … 14 episodes (He didn't perform in ep11 cos he was already through to finals) and he done so much since - plenty to go at !! 👌👌😊

Great reaction, loved it.. Yeah this dude is sick.. I haven't gotten over some of Chris Stapletons reactions then somehow come across Dimash lol. Don't get me wrong I love me some Bluesy Chris Stapleton (with some "stank" on it) but this dude is outta this world.. Most of the time I don't even have a clue what he's singing ( don't really care) whatever it is, it's beautiful, dramatic, just amazing... You can really feel what he's cooking.. Just in case you were curious, the older man in the audience they keep cutting to (the one who pumps his fist in the air at the end) is Dimash's dad, who had come from Kazakhstan to watch him compete. Dimash didn't actually know he was there until after the show was taped. His father had kept everything a secret from him because he didn't want him to be distracted from his performance.

I am happy to see your reaction and hope that you continue to watch Dimash. Dimash was invited from his country Kazakhstan to perform on the Singer show as the wild card. Singer is a competition between professionals and Dimash is the youngest performer on the show.
He started Singer at age 22 turning 23 shortly after. SOS was his first performance and it is fun to watch the reactions of the his fellow contestants backstage and of the audience. It is important to keep reacting to Singer 2017 first because this is where Dimash became famous worldwide. Every performance is totally different and you will love him way before it ends. He was invited to sing Opera as a career but chose to go this way, working on developing his own style of music. Kind of a classical pop or a new category entirely when he is done.

Highly recommend everything by this boy Dimash
This song is mostly just to show part of his range - the "part" is not a joke - his range is from F2 to D8. There are much better songs than this one. He was just 22 years old here and he is classically trained since age 5 with perfect pitch. Dimash is from Kazakhstan (a former Soviet country) - therefore he is fluent in Kazakh and Russian and since this show last year learning Chineese and English, but he sings in about 13 different languages.

i first heard this song about a decade ago, sung by the famous Russian singer Vitas. Vitas is a very fine singer in his own right.
Vitas executed one key change, as I recall. I was shocked, really. He had plenty of power in that upper register, too. The video is still up on RUclips, you can find it with search. In his 2017 performance of the song, Dimash executed *3* key changes. It seems effortless for him.
Recognize that the high notes are not sung by either of them in a plain falsetto. Both singers are using a modified falsetto, mixed chest and head voice, to strengthen the sound.
Opera 2 is pretty much a gimmick song. I don't think any other male singers exist who could do justice to it. Operatic counter-tenors could do it in true falsetto, but with a mixed voice? That's something that has to be practiced, a lot.
I'm sure some female singers could tackle the song; the low notes would be challenging, but some female singers might be able to pull it off. But I've never heard a woman attempt the song. I would be eager to hear them try!
