    My nephew purchased a P95 and was having some jamming issues and asked me to look at it. It was very dirty and after a good cleaning I took it to the range. It worked great with brass, steel and aluminum case ammo as well as 3 different types of JHPs. I thought about telling him I could not fix it but would be willing to take it off his hands 😂 because it was so sweet shooting and accurate. I showed him how to take it down and clean it. I think the P95 is a great pistol. Thanks for the video.

    Bought my first one in 1999. Bought three more over the years. I've also had the P-90, P-97, P-85 and 89. Terrific stuff. Ruger doesn't support these anymore but there's still Numrich for parts. These P-95's were booking so low 5 or 6 years ago at pawn shops that you could get them for $250-270 in stainless in fabulous condition with the two mags and the box and $225 and lower for the black finish. They couldn't give them away. They do require lubrication to run but when they're oiled up, they run and run and run. And yeah, the double action triggers are smooth and roll very much (to me) like an old Smith model 10. All my Ruger 45 P series triggers were like that too. It warms my heart to see this video and you shooting it like you are. My personal favorite configuration of these is the De-Cock only version with no safety but they're all terrific. They even made a few of these in a DAO configuration but they're few and far between.
    Thanks for the video.

      When Ruger discontinues a firearm they never back the product they are notorious for that Parts become scarce to none these are still very well made pistols that's how Ruger rolls and it's why I actually sold my sr556 rifle no parts availability scarce To None over the internet

    • @elblancobasura
      @elblancobasura 2 года назад

      @@joeblow4566 Sadly, that's all true. Thank goodness for Numrich. It's a pretty sorry business decision but that's the reality of it. Admittedly, it's why if I stumble upon a used P-95 for $300.00 or under at a pawn shop, I'll take it as a parts pickup. Same with the 89's.
      What you've described is a primary driver as to why I haven't messed around with Sig's. They stop supporting guns they discontinue also, is my understanding. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will come along here and correct me. I really wanted to get a P-230 or 232 but when I became aware that they no longer supported them, I put that baby to bed.

I was utterly amazed at how accurate and reliable that small .45 was capable of. I had a buddy that had the Ruger P 90. I t was combat accurate if not more, and it would feed anything. Had an 89 and am bidding on one as I type. Replaced it with the 95. Both were flawless shooters. Have never had a FTAnything that wasn't ammo related in over 22 years of use between the 2. Both were better shooters and more accurate than the Glock I owned. A bonus with the Rugers is they can anchor your boat or beat a foe senseless if you run out of ammo. The tank of the pistol world. Only downside I found is carrying them concealed, so I only carry them in cold weather in a shoulder rig. The 95 is my nightstand gun to this day, 14 years later.

    Mags are stainless steel. MecGar makes very good mags for them. You can get 15 or 17rd flush fitting mags from them. I have several P series guns and several parts kits that include spare slides and barrels. On a couple of them I removed the rear sight and added an EGW rmr mount in it's place where I mounted a Holosun 507c red dot. If you ever want to dissemble the slide, everything comes out super easy. The first step is to pry out the extractor and then everything else except the firing pin block safety comes out without any tools.

    The magazine coil spring should medium hard. If you use hard coil spring, most probably extraction will be difficult. Then you have to change heavier bullets to compensate extraction force of the slide.

    Problem is the steel cased ammo. I've never had a jam with P-95DC. My old one is first gen and the grips are mostly smooth with cut indentions. Yours has the rough stripping. These guns are built like tanks. Excellent for CCW, because all the edges are rounded off. Racking the slide fast is easy because the decock levers stick up and you can snag them with two fingers. Pretty accurate gun for stuff 25yds closer. They are not as accurate as a Glock 19 gen 3 or 4. These guns love Sellior & Bellot ammo.

    I have a PC-9 carbine that accepts P85 magazines. I think I bought that carbine back in 1998 maybe? I would like to find a P85 pistol to go along with it.

      I have one of those older ruger police carbines along with several p series guns. P89, P90, P94, P95 & P97 are the ones I have. If I were you I would skip the P85 and get the P89 instead because it's essentially an updated P85. For me the P95 is the most accurate of the 9mm p series guns.

    I had 21 at one time, had artist Duracoat the blued guns in different patterns/colors. Still have 15 and dozens of new oem extra mags and aftermarket mags too. With 115gr ammo hits low, think they're set for 124gr NATO ammo-Ruger was going for a military contract I think.
    Never liked the Glock style triggers, P95 nice old school smooth trigger, exposed double action hammer with decock safety.

    My P95 DC is without a doubt my favorite weapon. I even use it for everyday carry. I have a Glock, but it just doesn’t compare to the Ruger.

    Ugly, heavy, huge, terrible grip texture, heavy trigger, but man... would carry it into battle any day, what a machine the P95 is

    That was my first pistol I purchased when I turned 21. Unfortunately it was stolen a few months later. I had the serial number and reported it to the police along with a license number of the suspect. It was never recovered
