The last three weeks of the 1993 season was probably one of the most exciting times to be an Essendon supporter. The Premiership really was the icing on a surprise Birthday cake that year. Timmy didn't have a great GF match but his presence throughout the season certainly made a positive difference. It was great to see him leave the game as one of the Greats of the club with a third GF win! And a big Thank You to Kevin Sheedy who presided over such a wonderful era for the mighty "Same Old".
Carlton showed signs of life, lively playing, fast paced for moments at a time. It started sometime in the third Quarter. Stephen Kernahan has done a magnificent job. Essendon has responded well and promptly to whatever Carlton has done. ❤🌹
This is the first time I have watched this Grand Final. I remember, reading the results of the Carlton loss and Essendon win. A very hung over person on a Sunday Morning. I was single then. Out with friends. So I am watching with a very sober state of being. I can't drink these days ❤🌹
I have never seen Carlton fumble so much in a gran final. Lucky I went out that night and was busy to watch. I would have been upset. On the other hand Essendon playing excellent ❤🌹
Yes, you're right. They're still stuck on 16 premierships with Carlton. They need that 17th to stick it to the Blues but they have been a basket-case after Sheedy. Imagine what the Bombers could have achieved post-Sheedy if they had hired Dimma Hardwick instead of Knights in 08. The Bombers have not been the same since they traded Dimma after the 2000 premiership. He won a premiership with Port Adelaide in 04 and of course won three premierships as coach of Richmond.
They cheated to win the flag. They breached the salary cap. It should have been taken off them, and awarded to the next side who didn't cheat. Essendon are an embarrassment to the competition.
