Oh wow, I just wanted to return and let you know that I sampled 'Bo' totally due to your enthusiasm and descriptions of the fragrance and WHAT A KNOCKOUT! As an everyday, wearable woody fragrance it's just sensational. Understated, underrated but so perfectly done. There's a peep of juiciness leaking onto the woody vanilla from somewhere, almost a ghost note which is just so moreish and compelling. Stunning. My next full bottle purchase... as long as it performs decently during the, ahem, test period. Thank you for drawing me to a fragrance that I may never have even heard of without your passionate promotion.

Circling back because I just received Deep and Desire Yacht from EBK. The ordering process was seamless. I don’t get blueberry at all-but like a rich B’s version of dark Welches grape juice with all the other notes. Makes sense bc grapes are noted. Thanks for the yummy recommendation!
I literally just received my full bottle of Rosendo Mateu No 5 yesterday. When I first sprayed my sample of it my roommate, who usually gives me a hard time about my fragrance purchases, walked into the room and said "do I smell saffron? Whatever that is, you need to order a full bottle immediately!" That was all the validation I needed! It's incredible.

Changing Constance by Penhaligon's has a smoothness and creaminess that I prefer to Minuit et Demi as a gourmand. Although CC quickly becomes a skin scent, it has a better dry down in my opinion.

If diptyques eau duelle is anything like the greeness of diors addict I’ll be ok I’ve been meaning to try this for a while because I love vanillas but I wasn’t sure if I should go with the EDP OR THE EDT!

I empathize with the search for straight-forward but non-boring vanillas. Chris from The Perfume Nest recommended Vaniglia del Madagascar by Farmacia SS. Annunziata. It was near perfection, so well done, almost edible, reminiscent of a faintly citrusy vanilla pastry with freshly whipped cream on top in a fine French pâttiserie. I kept my sample for months before trying it, and as soon as I did, I learned it was discontinued. Pissed. Still not over it, clearly 😆 It's just so difficult to find vanilla done right.

Jazz Club is so so good, that's my signature scent and i also feel so confident whenever i wear it and you're so right with the performance, easily 8 hours on my skin.

You MUST try Serge Lutens Fille En Aigulles...I've been on that sticky woods kick and Bo by Liis is exactly what I imagined it to be and it's a fraction of the price of Fille En Aiguilles. What a great find! Now you're making me want to acquire all the redwoods and pine scent lol...I'm loving Dasein Winter Nights $125 (get your nose on this one for the fall/winter, it's magical) and am curious about Sequoia by Comme des Garcons :) :)

Looks like we have same type of notes. I hate orange blossom note too in my perfumes.. question though, which would u recommend between Greenwich Village and Minuit et Demi? I bought a sample of Minuit et Demi as per ur recommendation and fell in love with it. But haven't found a sample for Nond no. 9 Greenwich Village. Cant get a chance to go to the mall at all.

Wow you’re stunning🤩♥️ I have Xerjoff Golden Dallah, you said it’s similar to Minuit et Demi right? I though I might mix it with vanilla 28 to sweeten it up a bit and to make it even similar!
They are similar but different at the same time. I think xerjoff is spicier and minuite et demi is sweeter and more gourmand. I like to do a few spritzes of golden dallah and then a few of italica on top. It makes it more of luxury coffee shop with an italian biscotti on the side.
Minuit et Demi is a lot like Changing Constance by Penhaligons. If someone likes Angel by Mugler, Mon Parfum by M Micallef, that sort of thing, then they'll most likely love Minuit et Demi. I have no interest in it but each to their own. The fragrance which is slightly adjacent to the aforementioned olfactory 'vibe', which I find impossible to dupe and is worthy of an entire conversation, is 'The Rose' by Musicology. It's incredibly strong and unusual bordering on weird. Nobody talks about it on YT but I'd love to know what other people think of it. To me it reads as a failed brief for a household cleaning item fragrance, originally intended for a corrosive base (like bleach etc) but picked up by a perfume house and fiddled with until releasable as a niche body fragrance. I wonder if anybody else got this impression... 🤔 Controversial perhaps, but it's honestly all I could think of.
Awe thank you! ❤️ I do find them similar but not too much. Golden Dallah is more thick, dark, and rich in comparison. I get more of the dark roast coffee beans, cacao, incense.. and idk about you, but I do smell a warm cinnamon apple vibe, which Minuit et Demi doesn't have :)

@@AnneLauren that‘s what I thought in the beginning. I guess they had to cancel out Linalool which made the scent different. The bottle I had was only one year older than the repackaged one. Juice looks completely different which could be because of Vanilla but it smells like two different scents.😞

Gosh I feel exactly the same with vanilla it’s always to light and boring. I even expected much more the first time I smelt Spiritueuse Double Vanille Although I grew to enjoy in time, I can’t lie that I expected more initially. Kayali is beautiful! Just ordered Eau Duelle I really hope I like it, love the idea of the forest mixed with vanilla!

I used to have jazz club and still love it but I decided it doesn't suit me after a while so I sold it earlier this year but the way you describe it I'm like "damn did I make a mistake? Should I try it again?"

I got Skylar Salt Air after you spoke so highly of it and it is just as good as you said it is! My bf cannot get behind Deep N Desire Yacht, says it smells like weed to him, but it’s a for like for me too. I don’t know what he is speaking about. His nose is messed up from Covid I swear.

For a time I blind bought recommends from another channel and was always disappointed. There were gems but 9/10 times I was like…mnyeh! Then I found you Anné and literally EVERYTHING you recommend I fricken love. I don’t like green, boom eau duelle is my fav. I didn’t pay attention to coffee break….now I can’t stop smelling myself. Carolina Herrera was a house I ignored….slam, that fragrance knocked me out. I could go on….santal vanille, apres. Omg. One of these houses needs you in the lab pronto!

I want to love Vanilla 28 so much more than I do. On me in turns watery and insipid and that gorgeous boozy depth that I was hoping for just never arrives. It must be my skin. However my interest was intensely piqued to hear you talk about the scent profile changing as the colour of the juice alters with time too. Oooh, I'm going to conduct an experiment now. Thanks Anne! PS= I get why you're unmoved by Tihota, Fire at Will and Insulo. Vanilla-forward fragrances really split a room and that category is nowhere near as easy to find gold medal winners in as one would assume. There's a lot of musty, dusty 'Little Tree' action in there. 😂
You may change your mind with the darker juice, who knows! And seriously! I was all ready to experience the hype but I was left so .. "meh" 😅
Can I ask you how amethyst haze compares to coffee break and mon guerlain intense? And I suppose in a lesser way to lavandes trianon? I love, love love love, a lavender vanilla so amethyst haze just rocked to the top of my wish list 😂
It's definitely the most comparable to Coffee Break (but not too close that you couldn't have both) out of that set, not close at all to the other two! The lavender is more pronounced in AH, it also has far better performance, doesn't have as much of that lactonic quality, and it's not as sweet. AH feels more polished & has more spice and wood, where CB is more gourmand. Hope that helps :)

I loveeee Liis Bo but unfortunately doesn’t smell the same on my skin, and it gets completely pine and the fragrance disappear in less than 30 minutes, it’s not only me but no one can than smell on me. 😢 I CRIED cause it’s REALLY GOOD

Anne, where did you buy amythest haze? The only place i can find a full bottle of amythest haze is harrods and they want like 42$ shipping. Does anyone know where to get it in the u.s?

Extremelyy different! If you've ever smelled Goldfield & Banks Silky Woods, that's actually much closer to Vanilla Woods. For the first 1-2 hours of VW, I get a slight dirty, animalic earthy wood note, after that it’s gone (I don't hear anyone else talking about that though). Also in the opening, a slight smoke note. The vanilla is very creamy, sugary, and powdery and is the main thing dominating the fragrance. Hope that helps :)

Nefs at First sniff was no that good I was smelling like a rose jam in term of a strawberry jam but with rose, but wen I wear and tried more and giving it more opportunity I fall in love it’s amazing rose oud safron honey vanilla and the projection an longevity are the best nefs it’s a beast mode definitely 9/10
So here’s my problem. I sampled note vanille and I loved it. when the new bottles came out I bought a bottle Directly from micallef. And it seems really different than the sample - like rubbing alcohol and florals with just a hint of vanilla. I tried waiting for a while hoping it just needed to settle but it’s still bugging me. Has anyone else had this problem? I’m wondering if it was reformulated or if maybe I have a bad bottle.
Maybe it need to macerate a bit
