Mr. Caldwell was a legend. He even showed up at Osborne Middle School in the early 1980's when Mr. Witherspoon was band director to teach and conduct "Ave Verum Corpus" ("...for US!", teaching us the dynamics while singing the lyrics). It is a testament to his love of music, the OHS band and showmanship that he recognized and seized upon the power of the Star Wars theme early on and took the trouble to score it for the band before it was commercially available -- no mean feat in the antediluvian days, BEFORE the Sony Walkman!
