When I was still religious, I never could buy that story that I would be dead to sin, while others were still active in sin. From my perspective, we have two choices. We can either believe that the universe was created by an entity that designed suffering as part of its plan ... or, we can believe (as did Stephen Hawking, before he died) that the universe always existed, and will always exist ... no plan involved. I prefer the second choice.

Please help me understand. So Pst. Dan said that we forgive because we are forgiven in response to the Lord's Prayer question. I totally understand that. My question is what if we don't forgive after we've been forgiven? I.e. the parable of the king a
who forgave the servant, but the servant didn't forgive after he was forgiven. Side note: what are we to do if we do sin?

I hear you.I had the same problem and I prayed for an answer. So I was reading my bible every day and that day I opened it and read that God forgave me and wanted me to forget all my sins. This was so I could move on with His work.So that day I prayed again and ask the lord to help me,basically I was hung up.Soon after I started forgetting but I always knew I had been guilty of many sins.I'm just saying what happened to me because I refused to give up on the promise.I always ask for forgiveness in any mistake I may have made every time I pray. Also the bible tells us that we can't be forgiven if we don't forgive. This is Gods' law even if you or I like it or not.Forgiveness is Love.

Sean Johnson then the question is are you really following Jesus? Because if you are forgiven and free from debt why would you not forgive and free someone from his debts? Then you must look at verses where Jesus is saying:not everybody who call me Lord Lord will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven but Him who does the will of my Father in Heaven" and the will of Father is to love one another,in love there is forgiveness. So if you don't forgive that means you didn't truly accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life.Hope that helped.

Monika Smulska Without grace/love, there is nothing worth receiving from you because it isn't coming from God. There is a way to speak plainly without sugarcoating things; but the fact of the matter is that many of us would not be able to ask God to forgive others after being marred beyond recognition or as they are being stoned to death. Does this mean that no-one on God's green earth knows Him? No. It means that many of us who call ourselves Christians are still growing into certain things.
The man who is asking this question is obviously new at this. He is innocent. He is humble. And people like you do alot of damage to people like him. He does not need mean-spirited people coming at him like you did. Millstones, woman.
You do need to learn your place as a female. And no. This is not shovenism. You are in contempt of God with this comment. If you're going to go out of your way to be harsh with someone for asking a question, I'm going to respond by warning you about this spitting poison at baby Christians.
You either have love or you don't. the devil can quote the book front to back; but this doesn't mean that these masqueraders whom the devil is using to quote this book or "teach" others are people who know God. I'm blown away by how many listen to this guy and still don't understand what all of this is about. Its one thing to be ignorant; but It's something else entirely when someone cherry picks whatever they like and rejects the rest because they hate those parts. People who talk like you often turn more people away from God than they bring to Him; and I firmly believe you will pay for it if you keep it up.
That is HIS kid. He belongs to my Father. GOD DOES NOT SUFFER A WOMAN TO TEACH. Do you understand?
This is a serious thing. You are not ordained by God to give others instruction. Dan is a teacher. You are not. Please: pray, read your book and be silent.

Sean Johnson Think of it like this: to hold something against another only hurts you. It's poison to your body. It rots your bones. I am still working on this myself. Offenses just keep coming from all directions now that I'm trying to live my life for God. - 'They will hate you for my name's sake.'
It's a learning process. it helps to remember what Jesus said: 'Forgive them Father. For they know not what they do.' and also: 'our war is not against flesh and blood.' - people are deceived. if they really knew what they were doing, the majority of them wouldn't do bad things to hurt others.
If you sin after being saved, immediately go to God and thank Him that's not who you are anymore and ask Him to forgive you and help to not do that thing anymore. It's not good if you sin and you knew it was wrong before you did it. This is what violates our conscience and seperates us from God (we do this to ourselves. It's not God cutting us off, necessarily) However, if the sin is something like cigarettes or heroin, I do believe God treats this differently as long as you know in your heart that you dont want it anymore. Not wanting it is key. If you are having trouble not wanting to do something that you know is bad, thank God that He is changing your heart and that He showed you it's wrong; and ask Him to grant you repentance. (to help you not want it anymore)
This next thing I am going to say is very important: guilt, shame and condemnation are always from the devil. It is Godly sorrow that leads men to repentance. You will know the difference. Godly sorrow is being remorseful that you did it. and if you confess your sins to God and ask for forgiveness, He will forgive. Do not let the devil make you feel bad about some mistake you made yesterday after you've already asked God to forgive you. That's the devil talking. Tell the devil that you've been washed clean with the blood of Jesus; and that he needs to leave you alone and quit trying to tell you lies in Jesus name. Don't be afraid to get angry and aggressive with him, either.
Dan teaches a different approach to this that is more biblical: He teaches to resist the devil by submitting to God. If the devil tries to talk, you are to immediately start thanking God for loving you and praising Him and speak whatever scriptures you know that are the opposite of whatever the devil is trying to tell you.
it is the goodness of God that leads men to repentance.
      Read Jeremiah 29:11-13
God bless you, brother. You got this. You have the thing that most people don't: meekness. 'The meek shall inherit the earth.' 😃

I understand your question very good. So here is the deal. All the ministry of the Lord Jesus was, to manifest and teach the kingdom of God and we all know that at the end He paid the price so that anybody who believes can be saved. The big misconception is that the kingdom of God and salvation are the same thing but they are not. Salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus and it is not of our own works but it is a gift from God so that no one may boast. And the kingdom of God is all about works. If you want more info tell me😉😉

I like most of what he says, but we don't have to ask for forgiveness!!!!!!!!??????? WATCH OUT SAINTS....WITH A DISCERNING EAR! STOP SAYING AMEN TO EVERYTHING YOU HEAR FOLLOW THE WORD OF THE LIVING GOD BEFORE WHOM YOU WILL STAND ALONE! I John 1:9 says, "But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness." I John 1:8 says, "If we claim not to have sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us." Sin is active and powerful but we must crucify our flesh and learn how to deny our flesh the deadly pleasure of sin on a daily basis. Saying we don't have to repent is saying we are like Jesus....but the Bible in I John 3:2 says, "Beloved, now we are the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is." While we are a new creation in Christ, our mind is still being renewed and so there is possibility of error - which we must REPENT of and turn away from - which is a life long process!!! DON'T BE DECEIVED! PLEASE! READ YOUR OWN BIBLE. GOD WILL HOLD YOU ACCOUNTABLE.

yes, he does hit this issue very well. he hits it on the head. The question is, are we forgiven, or in constant debt. How one answers this dictates how they view themselves and how they interact with God.

Wow - that's a complex theological concept on forgiveness. Hard to follow. It seems to challenge the validity of the red letter gospel concept and regards it abrogated, superseded. I feel bewildered. Sinning against the gospel doctrine of the finished work of Christ does not sit nice. Dan raises the bar to a higher law in effect after Jesus died, which maybe is higher than the law of Christ referred to in Galatians 6. Mandated to imitate Happy Dan and live out a new all paid for divine identity in power I feel even more aware how deficient I am and how much it takes to become that new man short of a dramatic epiphany. No excuses possible.

Walter Strohbeck, it's not really complicated, it's just a right understanding of being a new creation in Christ. We are simply and clearly taught by Paul that if we walk by the Spirit, we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. We can safely assume that the Apostle is not teaching an impossibility, as he is actually presenting what he sees as normal Christianity.
Our biggest problem is that the modern church has become worldly and religious. The standards are all messed up because no one is taught to really deny the self life and truly abide in intimate relationship with Holy Spirit. Religiosity cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit, nor can it actually inspire one to deny the flesh and worldly, temporal distractions. If you listen to enough of this teaching, it will cut through all the religiosity and become amazingly clear and simple.
Bless you and all who read this!

Become like a child. in other sermons I've heard from him, he explains that he for where he's at by spending lots of time alone with God. Knowledge is important; but personal relationship is key. Talk to God. If there's something you're confused about, ask Him to show you. He will make things clear. It is the glory of kings to search a matter out. You're a king, my brother.

    • @omipari6895
      @omipari6895 6 лет назад +2

Walter Strohbeck the gospel is simple enough for a child to understand. We are forgiven, we are healed we are raised to new life. We have eternal life which means to know God. I forgive because I am forgiven. I love because I am loved I heal because I was healed. I am generous because I have been given much. The scripture says, as He is so are we now in this world. We are to acknowledge this and then our faith becomes effective. The gospel tells us who we are. We are born of God, made in His image.

I would take it even further. God planned Jesus' birth and death before the world was created. He knew the law would need to be introduced as part of His plan. It was a sneaky way to get over on Satan rescue for man from hell and death. The law contained promises of salvation, but Satan thought no one could keep the law, so he didn't object because of the new curses. Jesus earned the promises keeping the entire thing and as Lord shares those promises with us.
