  • Trying out the new wheel!
    Stock coil shock bottoms out like crazy with the 900lb spring so if I were you I would look into air shock options before taking it out on a real trail ride like this. I believe Chance is currently working with Begode to modify the suspension so stay tuned!
    Stoked on the power and travel of this wheel!

If it can handle your jumps thats a very good sign. love the way the wheel looks too. More metal less plastic.

  • @InsanitiesBrother
    @InsanitiesBrother Год назад +2

    yeah, we really need beefier springs as they take 100% of the load and don't have much travel.
    How did your suspension pin thing hold up. (bar that mounts through the top of the shock)?

    • @trubttam
      @trubttam  Год назад +2

      I’m suspecting that the spring on the production models just doesn’t have a long enough stroke so it’s limiting the shock from traveling out and the sliders never bottom out the spring just bottoms out on itself and then the pin gets bent. Mine was bent but I fixed it.

    O dude, thats some crazy rock crawling/climbing! On the 1st freakin ride!!! Based on what Chance says with his coil shock, no doubt BG cheaped out on the coil. @glendonchan1081 Год назад +2

    Coil shock with no compression dampening, doesn't surprise me at all with the bottoming out. When I ran that shock on the master, I was running 1500lb and could still bottom out on occasion. They're cheaping out on the shock imo. The S22 style shock should have been the bare minimum

    • @trubttam
      @trubttam  Год назад +2

      Yeah we are also suspecting that the spring on the production models has to little stroke so it’s limiting the shocks travel and hitting the pin before the sliders truly bottom out. Air shock is doing good

    • @glendonchan1081
      @glendonchan1081 Год назад +1

    • @jmsmith1019
      @jmsmith1019 Год назад

      My guess is that it's a demographic thing. Where does Begode sell more EUC's? Asia, N America, Europe? What's that riders average body weight? Sounds like that Extreme is sprung for a 150lb kitted rider.

    • @trubttam
      @trubttam  Год назад +4

      no its basically a failed math problem, they used a spring that only compresses like 30 mm when the linkage and shock are capable of traveling 50mm so you lose 20mm shock stroke and the shock is 20mm to long when fully compressed, that's why the pins are getting bent as well. @@jmsmith1019

  • @Senioritis012
    @Senioritis012 Год назад

    Sounds like the compression dampening circuit is weak or non exsistent. Some compression adjustment would keep the small bump sensitvity and resist big bumps and drops....something not possible on cheap or poorly designed suspension (hence why ill only buy veteran suspension wheels)

  • @Mpower31
    @Mpower31 Год назад +2

    I wonder if they didnt build enough progression into the geometry? (as a reason why its blowing through travel)

    • @trubttam
      @trubttam  Год назад +2

      No it’s just the spring they used on the coil shock. Huge fail on Begodes end. It only compresses like 1/2 the stroke that it should lol.
      There is a way to mod one of the connections in the linkage to allow for a piggyback reservoir. At first I wasn’t willing to do the mod but I ended up trying it after this ride. Unfortunately because the x2 is unique in having the air can and oil reservoir in opposing ends of the shock it still wouldn’t fit. The air can ends up getting in the way near full compression 😢

    • @Impecable..
      @Impecable.. Год назад +1

      The 900lbs coil chance was using is different from what begode sent with this batch; it's shorter so the spaces between each coil is too small to account for the full travel of the shock.

  • @bronsonmercieca2120
    @bronsonmercieca2120 Год назад

    Do you think the S22 spring would fit on the extreme shock? i know its only 750 lbs, but might work better due to not bottoming out?

    • @trubttam
      @trubttam  Год назад +2

      At the moment I would lean more toward 20 inch. More contact with the ground and rolls over rough obstacles easier.

  • @YourAubsome
    @YourAubsome Год назад

    damn begode.... I've got an extreme coming soon with the 900 lbs coil and I was hoping it would compete with the S22 suspension. How has Begode still not learned to copy the suspension linkage geometry from third parties who sell upgraded linkage for their wheels 🤦‍♀

    • @trubttam
      @trubttam  Год назад +1

      The linkage is ok, what happened is they sourced a shit spring when they mass ordered for the extreme. The demo spring was totally different. The production spring ended up basically limiting the shock from fully compressing so every bottom out all the force was going straight thru the shock into the pin without the sliders ever reaching the motherboard case.
      If I were you I wouldn’t get to serious on the extreme until you get the shock sorted
