Hello, I’ve never used one with mine as it’s so warm anyway. So I don’t have a recommendation for this one but rab do an excellent line of liners. And a more budget offer from mountain warehouse in the uk.
I just never have. I wash my bag as part of its maintenance routine I suppose and I’m often wearing some sort of clothes in bed which I guess has the same effect as an insert with regards to hygiene.

Hello. Great question. As of yet I’ve no issues. Sure moisture from the tent gets in. Puddles too! I have certainly got this bag wet on occasions. But with proper care of the bag in between use it’s fine. My down sleeping bag before this was my dads old one from when he was 18. That’s nearly 50 years and he’s taken it everywhere unless I’d nicked it. And it’s still going strong. Also Rab offer a great cleaning service for down products etc. Basically. Short answer. No issues and this is one amazing bag.
I’ve got the Mountain Equipment Nova 111 which is very similar. I just couldn’t get on with the compression bag and achieve a small size with it. I bought the Expad waterproof compression bag which does the job nicely.

Do you think this is works as 4 season bag suitable for UK 1-2 night bivouacking and wild camping. I tend to run a little cold at night. Looking for something to cover me autumn through to spring. Great video! What is your experience of using it in damp conditions? I’ve heard down loses it warmth when damp. I’m off to a Scotland in a couple of weeks, have this bag and not sure if I should be looking for something that claims to be ‘hydrophobic’. Have you ever woken up with it damp having absorbed condensation?
I remember waking up and the foot of it was soaked. I was really pissed off but I let it dry and it’s been fine. If you’re bivvying or expecting to get soaked. Maybe look for something else but I’ve never ever had a problem with this. And I suppose I wake up most days I use it covered in dew or a degree of damp.
That was certainly one I looked at while researching this. There was also a fjallraven bag that looked amazing but meant mortgaging my child. The vango ones are well priced and good. But massive! This was the perfect between pack size, price point and performance.

Ian Campbell that all depends on what country you live in and when you start getting hot. I myself just open the zip if I’m too warm. Sorry I don’t have a more definitive answer for you.
Keep "Roasty toasty" as a catchphrase. Good wee review that, loved the this not just a sleeping bag but ME sleeping bag rift there, nice one😀👍👍 I use the black hoodless Aegismax M2 down sleeping bag which compacts real small and just under 700g in weight for a sleeping bag which cost me £85 two years ago is cracking and it does the job nicely. I'm 6'2" and a fat knacker ready for the glue factory yet I can fit inside it very comfortably.

My sleeping set up for spring and autumn that I use is the trekology ul80 sleeping mat with trekology aluft 2.0 pillow with the Aegismax M2 all inside the 3f ul gear Lanshan 2, a tent that use hiking poles. I am very comfy with that set up and it is fairly lightweight. In the summer I only swap out the sleeping mat to the Alpkit cloudbase. All are quite cheap and has served me well. When I saw you have posted a video I did indeed poop my pants with excitement, it was well worth getting thrown out of Burger King for!😆😆😆

I’m a side sleeper too. And 6ft. It’s just anout ok. I have no issues with it. If you think you might. Then get the next size up. You won’t regret getting this bag!
Iv been using a thermarest saros -18 its a monster NOT BACKPACKING MATERIAL needs air dropping at camp its hot hot hot , but huge pack size is more for parking at your camp .
The bag is a bothy type bag mountain huts etc ...not for tents . They absorb water . Saturate in damp conditions .. i had one mistakenly did not read mountain equipments reccomendations .. the more expensive mountain aquip ... have water repellant outer coatings .but £360 ..nothing if your planning winter in scotland tenting .go for the glacir range
be honest buddy im a synthetic bag guy ..but had to go for a down .(hated the idea) loathed it, so it was thermarest questar -18°, for warmth size .. its still fully compressed still stuffed in my fjallraven kajka pack .been there four months now , it can set solid for me ! id pay double for a good synthetic bag , cant stand down bags ! smell like chicken coups when damp ,
They do have a distinct aroma. My dad agrees with synthetic. The tech has come along so much now that really it’s hard to tell other than a marketing ploy. There are some cases where down is the only option. But very rarely in a sleeping bag in the uk

As for what I sleep in, I was tempted to say "in the buff" but I thought that might be regarded as inappropriate in some quarters so I shall content myself by saying an Alpkit 400 Pipedream...and that's a cracking bag too.
