Loved the video. The water is super clear there. I am a disabled veteran and I am excited to be able to get up there and hook into some fish. My wife's family live in eastern PA and NYC. Big thanks to New Jersey DNR for making it somewhat affordable to fish there. I wish they offered veterans a little discount. For me to fish trout I think it is $30 for the fishing license and $20 to fish trout. It is hard for a lot of the rest of the country to afford New Jersey prices especially when you add everything up.
Who the hell taught you how to handle trout smh everyone of those trout are injured or dead...get a net keep them in the water and if you have to handle yhem get your hand wet or better yet use a tailing glove you might as well have kept them and holding even a small laker vertical like that can inflate the swim bladder...pitiful
@@jacksontoms1393 I am all for eating what you catch, but if you are attempting a catch and release do the right thing and use a net or wet your hands first. As a outdoors man you should know this and not respond like you are ten. Conserve and preserve, don't just be a dick and call someone a woman because they care about preserving a beautiful creature for our kids to enjoy like we did.
Hey is the the endangered California Golden Trout which is a subspecies of rainbow trout or the albino version of rainbow trout they breed in hatcheries.
So great bro! I was just starting to get ready for the winter doldrums. Few more weeks on the Jersey shore if we're lucky. But then you remind me of the Trout & Bronze Back fishery. You the man kiddo! Awesome footie.
Happy you let him go, I think the golden one is a trout that was native to some lakes out west, very limited range, and then they stocked it elsewhere, and maybe hybridized it, no matter, it is an individual that there aren't too many in existence in the world. And the whole thing takes place in, where? New Jersey!!!!! Thank you for respecting life and setting a good example! Lavya
Seriously I never seen you use a net. Over handling and rough handling almost assuredly will kill all those fish. Just saying, you’re hands are up in their gills you don’t wet your hands first, bouncing them and dragging them on rocks...
Can you please make a little review video with all the tackle you use for trouts (keitechs, jig heads, eggs, worms, spinners, (brands/colors that work for you?) like you did for the reels? Being a non english native speaker, I really like when you put the product link so i can check the product out. Maybe you can show the fishing setup you are using in more detail in some videos since its hard to know if you are using split shots or just fishing straight, etc.... Just discovered your channel today and i really like it. Im hooked and just purely enjoying exploring your channel out.
At that particular spot where you caught the palomino... I was fishing there last year. Put my tackle and extra rod down to start working the bank. I'm 50 yards from my stuff when a boat beaches itself, takes my stuff, and starts zipping away. Called the police and we caught the guy and got my stuff back. but I wont be going there again hahaha
Welcome. This is the best fisherman on youtube hands down. I would put money on him outfishing just about anyone. Awesome videos all the time. Chris is highly knowledgeable and so are many of the guys that comment here regularly.
It’s a palomino Trout. Crossbreed and was created by accident. Now they stock them all over the country. A golden trout is actually a completely different fish found in high mountain lakes on the west coast
This is not a troll. When you cut the line short that is coming out of a fishes mouth, you do more damage than good. Years ago , bass masters found that a short cut line interfered with the fishes ability to eat( it blocked the throat to some extent. The advice they gave was to leave a longer leader hanging out of the fish , and the line would trail behind the fish and not interfere with the feeding process as much as a short leader in its throat. I'm 63 and have fished almost every piece of water in Jersey, yeah even salt water. I haven't fished Monksville yet. Well that's what I heard😊👍🏻 Oh yeah, GET A NET ! And I make some beautiful powder coated and baked in the oven for 45 mins. the heat lays that powder coat better than any dip or spray paint. It's not messey and the colors are amazing. Some have high UV additives and the colors POP. So many colors. And you pick your own jigheads out. I use premium jig heads and very good powdercoat. 1/64- whatever 8oz's if you want them. GET A NET !
Agreed. If he put his spots out there they would be swamped within a few weeks...It takes time in the water to find good spots..Do the work and you will find good fishing...
U serious? That was clearly a rainbow, some rainbows have olive green along their spine and red strip. While others are more silver- less variation. Cold water creek rainbows typically look like the 2nd fish.
i caught like 10 golden trout on super light line (2 lb test) and a gray hairs ear fly if you just get it in front of their face and then twitch it hard they grab it!!
Dry handed. That's sick, just to quote you. A rainbow trout is the most sensitive trout there is. So there is a huge possibility you just killed it. Use a single barbless hook and pliers ti remove it without touching it.
+Scott Wood for walleye yea itd prob be good. Its got a very light tip so it gives the fish a lot of play when they pull back. These rods are mainly used for salmon/trout as typically you have to use very light leaders/line and a shorter stouter rod will often pull the hook
I feel you. I'm trying to get rid of my boat for the same reason. To much effort & time consuming, not even including the cost involved. Always enjoy the video. Tough season this year

Beautiful video, as always! That golden trout is naturally breeding or put on the lake by man?
Can you fish off those rocks? Or is it a restricted area ?
That was one of the most gorgeous fish Ive ever seen
Great content, love all your vids. Tight lines, come up to Maine for some pike fishing!
Seriously I never seen you use a net. Over handling and rough handling almost assuredly will kill all those fish. Just saying, you’re hands are up in their gills you don’t wet your hands first, bouncing them and dragging them on rocks...
Great fishing Chris what’s the name of the lake. I’m originally from Philly.
I hope you make a trip to the Delaware River this winter for walleye, Muskie, and smallmouth.
Always love your videos my dad met you on the surf at Martha’s Vineyard haha keep it up bud

Quickie question bro... Is that the same rod you used on the Salmon River trip?
Beautiful catch. I heard they were gonna stock more of them in the resevoir soon.
Try out a small black troutspoon. Works wonders on rainbows I found. Caught an 8 pounder on a 1/8oz spoon last Saturday. :)
What reservoir are you at
Enjoyed your video! Subscribed! That's a hell of a lake definitely worth the drive.
Welcome. This is the best fisherman on youtube hands down. I would put money on him outfishing just about anyone. Awesome videos all the time. Chris is highly knowledgeable and so are many of the guys that comment here regularly.

Awesome bro Smallmouth are my favorite but I got excited when you caught that trout
Round valley baby!! Thats where i got the 12lb brown in my photo!!!! haha!
My favorite (go to) (all around) (catch anything that swims) lure...is a 2 inch original floating black and gold Rapala.
That and a 1/4 oz Kastmaster and you're like 95% covered.

spyderphotography that's only next too the boat ramp and only at certain times of the year..
south tower rocks are a restricted zone year round, getting caught there= BIG TICKET
Are you going to do ice fishing with mike from 1rod1reelfishing this year and if so what are you going to fish for?
Do you film in 4k, 1440, or 1080? I know you do youtube at 1080 max, but do you film in higher quality for nice screen grabs?
Loving your vids all the way from Guam!

Nice catches man i been doing good on the blade bait myself
Come to Pocahontas county WV on the Greenbriar.
How many times did he say lake trout?
Chris we call that a Lightning Trout here in SOCAL
Drives me nuts when people call them gold trout.
John Woods, well that’s just really a nickname, Golden Rainbow Trout or Lightning Trout, but the real name for these Trout is Palomino Trout..
Correct. Still drives me nuts though. Especially for those of us who have hiked the sierras to find them
Sick video I love all ur stuff keep it coming dude
Awesome fish man!
If I could name the first fish I would name him Starburst
Aaa aaa
That's awesome bro !!! I never heard of a "Golden Rainbow Trout" before this vid. How did they get that color ?
