When I saw the big yellow bowl. Memories, I broke one of the set when younger. Don't remember the color, but Mom was upset!!! I had to be in elementary school!!! I've been collecting them for years..all packed away in a box!!! Am 77 now!!!
I bought my Pyrex Dot mixing bowl set 15 years ago and paid $225. Thank you for the very interesting info on the pattern’s connection to modern art of the era. Your expertise is amazing and much appreciated.
I love the dot pattern set and the copper mushroom set. I had the Crazy Daisy set of plates, bowls, cups and saucers back in 1977, but never had the big bowls and casserole dishes. I had no idea that there were so many items in each pattern until everyone was wanting or selling them.
Yellow bowl yes my momma used it for so many thing's. She bought me the gold and white set in 1976 when i got married...my grandmother had the dark brown with gold printed early american
I think it is ridiculous that they call themselves a thrift store when they are selling things at retail prices! Thrift stores are where you go to find deals! But I enjoyed the video. Love you Dr.Lori!
This was such an excellent vlog. I’ve been checking out the Goodwills around my area and just found a new condition Waterford crystal decanter with the stopper that goes with the set I collected when I was stationed in London in 77-78. Would buy a piece every payday at the commissary. I know I’ve found other Waterford but not positive but can definitely see the higher quality. Don’t do yard sales much but I got a great deal at one because most people wouldn’t drive to the one at the end of the long court. Got a larger dark blue cut crystal fairy light for a quarter with a brand sticker on it. Got home looked it up close to $450. Thank you so much for doing these in store vlogs, they are so much fun.
Thank you Dr. Lori for sharing your knowledge and I love Pyrex. I do have the yellow bowl set and I keep it in view on my prep station. I use it all the time and I clean it as soon as I'm done and put it back. Love it!
I have learned so much watching your videos. I had so much fun this past week going to the Goodwill store. I felt as if I had some Idea of what I was looking at in the different sections of the store. I do not purchase for resale, but for my own home and enjoyment. However; I did know the difference between pieces and enjoyed making choices.
Oh my goodness! You spoke about the yellow Pyrex (or PYREX) as being your Mom's pasta bowl. I inherited my Grandma's yellow bowl. It's probably older than your Mom's. I think they were made for several years. She used it as a mixing bowl. There weren't any of the other colors, so maybe she got it separately and not as a set? Of course, she and Grandpa moved many times, so perhaps the other pieces got broken? Then you showed the dots. I'm in subspace, right now, because the blue dot was what my Mom used for a pasta bowl. I have it now. (Yes, now I have her family's actual pasta bowl, inherited by her Mom.) She never had any of the other pieces of the set, so I'm still wondering if these bowls were sold individually... Thank you for doing this video!!! I got to learn a bit more about what I have/still use. ❤
Yes I am a subscriber. I came across your videos one day and immediately subscribed. I did notice my pattern of Pyrex on another video, but I don't believe you spoke about it as it was on the bottom shelf. I was just excited to see something that I use to this day, shown!
I am interested in learning about Pyrex refrigerator sets. People used them to store their leftovers in the fridge. All pieces have lids. I have one set that has three containers and a glass plate for them to sit on. Would you speak on these Pyrex sets?

Hello Dr. Lori, I hope you're doing well. I have a question that I believe you could assist me with. Could you kindly provide information on when oil paintings on hardboard first emerged? Specifically, I'm referring to hardboard with the characteristic small pattern on the back. Thank you for your expertise.

You too?! My mom passed at age 86, and the only thing that ALL us kids were hoping to take home was her big yellow Pyrex bowl! (Abrasions and all-we know how they got there.😉) It’s weird how many of the happy memories can be connected to such a simple thing.🥲
I feel the same walking thru an antique store you see something your grandmother had puts a smile on your face I collect pyrex for 10 years still remember rhe butterfly gold my grandmother had I got mostly every pattern I'm gonna have a pyrex museum I swear😅
Thank you Dr. Lori. I have a lot of Pyrex and this taught me a lot . Especially which ones hold more value. And I do understand that part that takes you back to child hood like the other fan said . I got a bunch of Avon cologne bottles like my grandpa used to have.
My parents bought there first home in 1957. My Mom chose pink appliances including a set of Melmac dishes in a pink pattern. The pink refrigerator was moved 6 times over the years and finally gave up the ghost after 37 years. It was a sad day when it was hauled away. 🥲
Your past few videos in different thrift stores have provided a thorough education in how to view and value Pyrex ware. Excellent. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Always an education with Dr. Lori. Thank you.
I have never seen the Pyrex from 76 with the Eagles! Learned something new! Thanks ❤
I just love your videos. Not only do you teach us, but you give us a little humor on the side everything I learned from you is much appreciated……Roni

I love the Friendship pattern on the right side of the Dots pattern, especially the pieces that have the red birds on them
I love the dot pattern set and the copper mushroom set. I had the Crazy Daisy set of plates, bowls, cups and saucers back in 1977, but never had the big bowls and casserole dishes. I had no idea that there were so many items in each pattern until everyone was wanting or selling them.

I started selling vintage last year on eBay and your videos are always so helpful learning. Thank you Dr. Lori.
I love your thrifting videos and all the great information you give!
I just love how you explain and see everything. Your the best!!!
Thank you Dr. Lori … I’ve learned so much from you. Love your videos.
We had the big yellow bowl. Lots of brownie and cakes were mixed in it.
Oh my goodness, you just said that. I was in college in 1976.
That big yellow bowl was the popcorn bowl when I was a kid.
Love the way you connect 'stuff' thank you from 🇬🇧
You are so welcome

Great video Dr Lori. Cheers from Adelaide, South Australia. I've been collecting all kinds of pieces for over 40 years and I'm still learning.

Holy smack a roos $$$$. No wonder when I volunteered at a thrift store and priced those expensive Pyrex bowls at $5, I would get yelled at. 😅
Amazing information and sets!
TYVM Dr. Lori! 🤗✌️❤️🦋🙏

Good question to ask during my next Ask Dr. Lori LIVE video so I can answer in detail and teach everyone watching. Check my website for the next date.
We have the same yellow bowl from my MIL. She made the spaghetti served in that bowl. My mom made the macaroni salad - her special recipe. 😊
What a wonderful learning experience. Love your show.
Thanks for the great education in Pyrex. I always confuse it with The Corning ware covered casserole set I have.

I just Love your Enthusiasm Dr.Lori!!! You're Terrific.I always learn something from you.
Thank you Dr. Lori!
1976 was the Bicentennial so I’m wondering if the Eagle on Pyrex relates to that.

Same bowl we had😅
LOVE YOU! thanks
Thank you❤
My dogs currently drink water out of the big yellow bowl! I use the others daily.
Enjoyed!
Great info here
Another great video! I own the Pyrex set that was to the right of the mushroom set but you didn't get to that set.
I have other videos from this shoot. Have you watched them? Are you a subscriber to my RUclips channel?

I see my green bowl!
Are the Pyrex in lower case letters "pyrex" older and made better verses the pyrex that's in higher case letters PYREX which are newer??
Please use the search feature on my channel. I talked about this in another video.
I love all PYREX just can't afford a lot.
I have never seen the Eagle pattern. Is that rare ?
