To create better color grades you need to understand Color Theory. Here's a breakdown of what Color Theory is and how to use it: ruclips.net/video/NO5AVIKNG0E/видео.html
Thank you for this very useful explanations, what editior program are you using? Adobe Premier pro ?

" The Lady Of heaven" 2M views at trailer
Thank you very much 💖💖
I think your concept of a beginner differs slightly from mine.
I felt the same...hahaha
lmaoo
Guide to color grading: "so just do it"
Wtf is a lut/log/natural profile lmao
Hahahah SAME!😂😭
I have been watching you a lot recently. I think the reason I have been watching your content so much is, because I am learning so much in just a short amount of time from you. Thanks for all the hard work that you put into this channel. Sincerely, Great job!
video: "beginners guide"
me after watching video: WAT
This guy honestly does the best tutorials I think Ive ever seen on RUclips. The pace is perfect, he understands exactly what level you're at and what you need to know. Its like he reads your mind. I pick up so much from everything he says and even when its too advanced for me, he explains it in a way that gives a general idea. Now im angry at every other youtube tutorial maker.
I think your concept of beginner is different than mine lol
@jevendovey can you do a video on how to light an indoor vlogging set up
Great info. Color grading is always the most challenging for me... Doest help that I'm color blind...lol
XD
Respect!
Let's go ahead and call this "INTERMEDIATE GUIDE" : )
Yes
From thumbnail it was thinking this will be another oversaturated teal and orange look but after watching video I was surprised about look . 👍
Best colour grade tutorial I’ve seen tbh. Even McKinnon and Chris Hau didn’t do it as well as you. Earned a sub from this up and coming youtuber
man, I follow a ton of ppl for these kinds of videos and u are the first who mentions rec709 conversion. Thanks! 🙏🏼
This is what I call a perfect tutorial!
seriously
True I've been looking for a tutorial like this in ages now I finally found it
Wow. The most genuine, and valuable information on a channel I've seen in a long time! Love your content! It's like you know exactly what we are looking for :)
honestly so true
AGREED HE IS GENUINE AND JUST ANSWERS ALL MY QUESTIONS!
Maybe not beginner to most but for sure beginners guide to those who understand the language and understand the basics of photography and video. Great content! 🙏🏽🙌🏼
Holy shit... Absolutely amazing video. I don’t normally write comments but thank you for taking the time to make this man. You condensed like 3 years of perfectly explained information into 10 minutes!
I love your videos and the style. I see a lot of RUclipsrs try to teach and their videos are so overdone or blown out. So I thank you for breaking it down and showing us how to do stuff properly.
This is the most helpful tutorial I've ever seen on what's a pretty daunting topic if you don't know what you're doing.
Wow, thanks!
Liked the part about the S-shaped curves. Thanks from a newbie who is overwhelmed with the color stuff but a few tips today helped me on a video I did this week.
this is really great video... color grading is huge and I was so lost at the beginning. Now I have my fast tools but the new software you mentioned is inviting to try.
Do you know where is the video he said about the bring your footage to rec709
I recently started shooting my GoPro in the Flat color mode to try and deal with action scenes partially in the shadows and partially in bright sunlight, but was super frustrated trying to bring it to life. Your explanation of the three step approach and the Luma scope in FCP has gotten me on the right path now. Much appreciated!
Game changer! Thank you. Color grading really helps tell a story.
Prob 15th video in a row I’ve watched. Such great content and new sub🙌🏼
I just found this channel, and damn this channel is a dam life saver for beginners for us
I like your videos. Clear, concise and to the point. Keep it up man!
This is the tutorial I have been looking for regarding colour grading. I have been getting better but I felt I hit a wall I couldn’t get through. Your video has helped massively. Thank you.
I needed this video to help me fix my videos. Enjoy all your videos.
I stumbled across this by chance and it was so good I watched it on my desktop and took notes. I'm trying tp up my game and this is about the best "color grading for amateurs" video I've seen, and I've seen a lot! Thanks for putting this together! 👍👍
Probably the best color grading tut I've come across to date! new sub right here!! 👌🏼🔥🙏
I just discovered this video, Jeven. BEST color grading video I've yet seen. Thanks!
Excellent! Right to the point, no nonsense and direct. Much appreciated,.
I'm the best at color grading. I give this video an A+.
I screwed up so badly never even knew about color grading really. Thank u so much for your tips they helped me alot for my next upcoming projects :) I had to hit that "Bell" so I don't miss new stuff from u :)
You do a great job explaining the different steps about contrast and exposure that other tutorials leave out
Great tutorial! - I've been looking around RUclips for a really solid color grade tutorial. But, so far all the tutorials I have seen spend about 1 minute on actually correcting the footage, and then 9 minutes on plastering your footage with a LUT. LUTs are extremely helpful for getting a basic look to your footage, but I feel it's so important to actually understand how colors make the viewer feel. This tutorial is great because it doesn't put you in the position to rely solely on LUTs but it shows how you should lightly use a LUT and then dial in the colors the rest of the way manually. Thank you!
OUTSTANDING tutorial video!!! Thank you for posting!
I m in love with ur content ❤️
So after your 1st pass of color grading, do u save your project and then do the 2nd pass? Sorry bro I'm new to this and kinda confussed
Great tutorial! Just wish Cinema grade was available for Windows OS..
Your tutorial doesn't disappoint.
Very well done, I enjoyed this tutorial very much, and I’m now a fan! Yes I subscribed.. keep up the great work!
Probably the best tutorial out there!😉♥️
wow.... that LUT @ 8:30..... wow you footage looks like a million camera, or something. I know i am in the right place now..... great job.
Is there an alternative to Cinema Grade for Windows platforms?
"for beginners"... use words that beginners wont understand, great 👍
I'm learning so much, thank you.
Great video Jeven, you present information clearly & efficiently, very useful! It should be mentioned that Cinema Grade is for MAC only users... Is there any similar software for Windows/PC users?
Thanks for this, Jeven! Super easy to follow and broken down really well!
So good! Thank you for the breakdown. You've made it easy and fun! I really appreciate it.
Just when I thought i'd sorted camera equipment, mics and mixers, lighting, scripts and episode planning, along comes colour grading. All I want to do is some podcasts (with video version) 😂The ultimate procrastination for me is finding out there's yet another thing to consider lol. But i'll add it to my procedure checklist and make it a habit.
Thanks Jeven.
P.S. I hope I'm done now 😂
Simon Barker haha so true! So much to learn, thank god for all these tutorials!
Great tip, I will check out Cinema Grade
I love your content. I am still too new to fully grasp what you are doing in this one. I have started using Adobe Rush for editing but color grading...no clue.
Your videos are very helpful. Thank you
I just bought Cinema Grade , its so powerfull
Great video! I learnt so much about color grading and this gave me perspectives. Awesome stuff! ⭐⭐⭐ Let's paint the pictures! 🖌
Thank you, very helpful. 👍🏻
Nice tutorial! I've started hearing 'color grading' everywhere when I started researching into film school. This tutorial is really great for a beginner to understand how it is done.
Love that this tutorial was helpful for multiple editing softwares, thanks for all the tips!
This is awesome! This is a very underrated procedure!! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this awesome video
One of the best channels about editing. Thanks.
By the way, I guess the “first pass” he mentioned about color grading is the same as “color correction”, right?
Nice job man, thanks for doing this. It was very helpful intro to understanding color grading for a newbie like myself. Thanks
This is more complicated than I thought!
very helful video
thank for sharing this important info
Super helpful video Jeven. I'm going to have to check out that Cinema Grade. - Trevor
Great video Jeven. I've found colour grading really daunting for a long time, and always avoided it if I can. This has really simplified the understanding of it for me. I will certainly be checking out your other videos regarding colour theory and grading. Thanks!
great video, i have been searching for easier turial for biginner, this is very helpful. thank you.
Now i see what i was doing wrong! I never changed the saturation or contrast first it was kinda all over the place. Great video man! Thanks for the information
This video is amazing! I’ve been looking for something like this for awhile! Very user friendly!
Nice Guide. Thanks
Another great video. I'm always confused on how to color my footage. You remind me of things I dont know...lol
A lot of very helpful information made very useful by your demonstrations. Thanks!
You sir should do a tutorial on Cinema Grade alone.
Thank you for having an intro that is only a few seconds long. Oh, and excellent content too!
love seeing your content surface when i search for answers :) hi jeven!!
Good video man
Thanks
Having watched enndless videos on CG, I appreciate yours as being really informative. My plan was to also purchase Cinema Grade and your comments confirm this as being a good idea. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing. Our videos lack cinematic shots...And color grading but we are doing our best.
Respect for giving us this without being sponsored!
Color Grading is life 😀😀😀😀😀
Thank you very much 💓
your tutorial is the best on youtube!
Dude, this is an amazing tutorial, just what I needed. But, where are all the links to your other videos you mentioned?
So helpful!
Wonderful.. Thanks
No words its simple and awesome
Great video for me 😍😍
Thanks for sharing godless stay safe always idol very informative video God bless
Great video!
Looks like an interesting tool. Keep up the good work.
wow - every question answered - thanks sir - I now realize why I need raw
Excellent video. Thanks for taking the time to film and edit it and of course for positing it for our benefit. My problem is that if this video is for beginners. you are way up there in the stratosphere. Also the applications you recommend have steep learning curves. Too bad you couldnt use something simple like iMovie or something on that level. Adobe products and Davinci Resolve are soooooo difficult to learn that the door is shut for many of us. I yearn to see the day when LUTs can be used in the basic software like as if they were "filters" in Instagram. Thanks agian and... Keep up the good work! -Migs
I mean you could have youtubed imovie colour grading tutorial if that's what you wanted, none of these videography youtubers will be putting out tutorials for Imovie because its not something they would use
Thank you for great introduction
Jeven! Oh my I have been looking for a good tutorial for years! I guess you could even apply these principals yo photography too!
Definitely downloading that software. Looks great.
Thanks a ton GREAT info!!
Great info... straight to the point... keep it bro👍👍👍
Great video this made it so much clearer. Thanks
Wow, this was a really helpful video. Thank you!
thank you for sharing
This video was a huge help! Thank you so much!!
