Brigitte Fassbaender Meisterkurs Richard Strauss Festival Garmisch Juni 2009

Hanna Larissa Naujoks probiert "Allerseelen" (1) von Richard Strauss. H. L. Naujoks stammt aus Villingen (Schwarzwald), studierte in Nuernberg und Hannover (Prof. Carol (Richardson) Smith) und gehört in dieser Saison dem Internationalen Opernstudio in Koeln an.
Brigitte Fassbaender ist von 2009 an für 3 Jahre die Leiterin des Richard Strauss Festivals in Garmisch.
Am 3. Juli 2009 wird B. Fassbaender 70 Jahre alt.

It was over the top.The director has to take some credit! Also the costumes were pretty ghastly plus the makeup. On the other hand her Count in Fledermaus is very funny,her Oktavian in Rosenkavalier opposite Lucia Popp was moving and her Hansel in the Humperdink opera was delightful ..she was always prepared to go hard. And not so protective of her own image as some.

She was amongst the greatest singers of lieder. Able to create a whole world in one song. But her Klytemnestra was one of the worst portrayals - staggering and shrieking, I don’t know how her Elektra didn’t burst out laughing!
