    Darryl Dawkins was a humble Superstar! Best Dunker of All Time! Shattered Backboard and made NBA changed rims because of HIM. Chocolate ⛈ Thunder was his name!

  • @ryanj7517
    @ryanj7517 4 года назад +16

    He had one of the most effortless and quick moves to finish at the rim of all time. Very few even contested his power as he dunked. An original beast for sure. Straight outta High School.

      Wilt Chamberlain claimed to have been stronger, but from what I’ve read, Darryl could bench press well over 600lbs and Wilt maxed at 550lbs. Darryl could also squat more.

      People don’t actually understand how big this guy was. You’re prolly thinking “and you do?”
      Well actually I do lol
      I met him when he was still alive, his kid and I went to the same day care growing up in a place called Allentown in Pennsylvania. Nobody knew his kid went to day care there for months because the mom usually picked the kid up, but one day Daryl had to come himself and my step dad recognized him being a huge Sixers fan who had watched most of his games. Before I knew who he was, I just remember going up to my step dad and saying “dad the guy in the other room is way bigger than you” which at 6 years old shocked me to death considering my step dad was 6’6 and about 300 lbs lol

    He came out of high school too.
    What a beast. Never seen raw power and finesse like him. Shaq was inside power but not much of a threat to shoot. Dawkins had a good outside touch and was a powerhouse inside. Could have been a better rebounder.
    RIP big guy👍👍

    Out of Evans High School in Orlando and Lake Lorna Doone Park, Dawkins was the first player to go to the NBA straight outta high school. He was a great player and a good dude who would come home during the off season and play with us at the park. His younger brothers Chico and Mitch have sadly passed away as well. Much love and respect Big Dawk, you represented us well.....

I don't know much bout him but damn I wish Giannis Antekompo could adapt Rarely Dawkins game and dunk like that. He reminds me of Shawn Kemp and Karl Malone. RIP Chocolate Thunder.
