Thank you kindly; you did a splendid job of demonstrating "how to do it yourself". The only thing I did differently from your video was to assemble the shelving in two sections so I wouldn't have to reach up as high to use all the shelves. Thanks again for your simple, straight-forward explanation.

Thank you. The couplers had us a bit stumped because they wouldn't go on. Your video gave me the confidence that we were doing it right, and that they just needed a bit more force. I ended up using a flat head screwdriver to ever so slightly pry the end of the coupler apart just so I could get it started, then I crimped them back tightly once they were in place. Thanks again. 😊

Nice that these couplers worked. The couplers with the Muscle shelving which look identical to these were worthless. I couldn't get the couplers to insert in the uprights. In fact I had 3 kits and the couplers in none of these kits worked! Nonetheless, this is nice video.
Both you and my instruction sheet say to add the post coupler "with the slot pointing down" but I have no clue what either of you mean. The couplers in my kit are not symmetric about the ground plane, so it seems like it matters a lot which way they go. The only thing I can identify as a "slot" is a thin punch near the middle on both halves of the 90° coupler. The punch forms a tab attached at only one end. It's not obvious to me which way would be "facing down."
Does anyone know if and where I can get just the post couplers? I got my shelves from Craigslist used, disassembled and don't have them. I can't find any couplers yet
I just bought the husky shelving. The couplers go on the outside of the braces supposedly. I beat them with a hammer and they WILL NOT SEAT halfway. I'm 60 and adept at figuring things out but this system, as stated before me, leaves a lot to be desired. Oh yeah, Husky on the box and another name on the assistance phone number. Of course they are closed today, July 3rd. God bless America and ty to all vets serving now and past.
I had so much trouble keeping the shelves in the slots after linking them . I had to use duct tape to hold them in. I had so many little cuts on my hand afterwards.
is it necessary to skip the bottom slot? I'm asking because on the unit I purchase, skipping that slot prevents me from getting the spacing between shelves I want since the middle shelf is non-negotiable/holds the top to the bottom.
+Stephanie Kolaczkowski The assembly instructions say to skip the bottom slot. I'm not sure if the double brace would be a problem hitting the floor in the bottom slot. You could try it and see.
I cannot get the board to fit into the assembled shelf. It used to fit prior to moving. Could the shelf have expanded in the weather or something? It’s off by a couple of millimeters but if I force it the shelf rips where the pressure point is. I’m so frustrated with this. It should be totally straight forward where the shelf should just fit the rectangle opening but it won’t go down flush. Any suggestions from anyone?

I wasn't paying attention and royally messed up in the following ways: a) the couplers are facing the wrong direction (hooked on from the outside, not the inside) and b) three of the posts on the upper half are facing the wrong direction :-( How do I remove the posts once they've already been fully inserted into the couplers???
I didn't get any couplers with mine. I would need at least 4 hands to put it together without them...Also, "tapping" the shelf braces into the slots is impossible. I'm having to beat them into submission with a piece of wood and a hammer.There is no other way to make them go down into the slot. Maybe I'm just not buff enough to "tap" that hard...Guess I have to build my shelves work bench style. It's not how I want it to be, but it's better than nothing. I've always been good at this kind of thing, but putting together this shelving system truly sucks.
I'm a chick too, Patty. I had to wrangle mine but it's coming together. I'm using a plastic mallet, that might help. I got mine at the dollar store. I think the plastic mallet helps.
What if the couplings don't want to go on? I destroyed my rubber mallet trying to pound, yes, pound the coupling on to even 1 post. I'm going to be writing to edsal and I'm going to blast them for a garbage product.

Did you have the small part of the keyholes in the uprights pointing down? The shelf brackets should tap right in and stay in position.
Do you know what can I do to remove the couplers once assembled? I need to make to smaller shelves and I couldn't find the way to remove them!
I think you can just pound them up and off with a hammer.

Maybe flip the board over, rotate 180 degrees, or try it on another shelf.

You need the couplers, I would return the shelving.

I would return the shelving and get a replacement with couplers. I used a rubber mallet on mine, maybe that would help you.

I had to bend the upright edges a bit to get them started in the slots of the couplings, but maybe you have bad couplings.
I ended up boxing everything up and taking it back to Home Depot. I will never buy another Edsal product again.
