I mean, it could end up as another Karlov Manor, but I just built a finicky vehicle deck that needs more cool vehicles, so I wouldn't even care if it does.
I love these podcasts to break down upcoming sets and go more in depth of the story of the set , personally I get more engrossed in sets because of this , amazing work !! 😊
I think the Robotic racing team is going to cause some event or catastrophic thing to happen during the Muraganda part of the Grand Prix & this will give a de-sparked Garruk a chance to try & take the Aetherspark for himself. I honestly have a feeling that Chandra is going to die in this set & it will either be due to the event or problem the robots caused or due to her & Garruk fighting over the spark.
My love for Redline is what's making me excited about this set. I don't need any direct references, but if it's anything like that, then I'll be happy.
The boxart for the single collector booster packaging has a driver with pompadour in a car! Some arts seems also in cell shading so might be a small node
Glad after we had so much fun with all the sets last year as players and collectors, the game designers and artists get to have some fun, together with us, now too. Aetherdrift is hella Comic Action coded.
Vidéo cool pour cette première extension ! Et la Markov en foil, quelle chance. C’est plutôt de bonne augure pour ce début d’année et je te souhaite donc une bonne année 2025 !
Yes they renamed it Arishvkar (or however it's spelled) for cultural reasons, but they also gave it a cool in story reasoning as well. ...and as they said they jump through other planes as well.
I hate that it's a racing set. I hate that it's called "Grand Prix", I hate that the Mad Max plane uses oil instead of Magic.... But I love the story beats. I love the way the characters function here and I am sure I will love all of the designs for this set. I would have liked the story going a different direction, but they are consistently knocking all of the cards and the story out of the park. I am definitely still on board.
This *is* an in-universe crafted plane. It's our first major foray into Muraganda. Just because it's not a plane of hats (it's many planes of racing helmets) and it's kind of a joke set doesn't mean it's not an exploration of a somewhat new plane.
So my genuine question is how does one get involved enough in the story of all these planes enough to care about the small details of the different teams? Im excited for the set just because i think the concept is cool, but there are so many stories and details here that i find it hard, as someone realtively new to magic, to understand even a little about whats happening in these worlds
It takes time, it is kinda like caring about all the pokemon from all of the pokemon regions, caring about it all at once is nigh impossible. Eventually, you will get there if you want to 😊!
I mean, I'm pretty deep in the lore and only know about two of the teams. Mainly just Chandras. Though maybe I'll learn more now that we're getting close to it.
Wait.... did she just say "old characters like Basri Ket?" He's pretty much new right? We saw him a short while ago for the first time and he never had any story presence.
It's sad it all gets lost within a month because once a set is released, Wizards is sick of the set and ready to move on as we are just getting a taste. Oh you enjoyed the cute animals? Cool here is horror shoved down your throat. Awesome, you loved that? Well here is some crazy race car bull shit
If you’re going to do UB then give us Game of Thrones or The Witcher! You would be literally printing money at that point but this, well to each their own I guess.
YAAAAAAAAAAS~ So glad to see Basri again... But seriously, this was such an out of the blue set idea coming from a not so far off massive event like New Phyrexia that it feels a bit WAY rushed (as rushed as the ending of All Will be One arc)... So I hope the stories somehow cover how Ghirapur was able to link up with the other planes that quick to allow the race to cover their planes/Omenpaths... because I just know not all of them are that welcoming to other planes that easily.
Do you not want us to enjoy any set you release? Innistrad Remastered isnt even out and youre trying to hype the next set. On top of that this is another bogus meme set. At least I'll save money hoping and waiting for the Tarkir release to be good
Oh the Nascar the Racening is out... how unexciting. I'm still posting comments about you forcing Universes Beyond on everyone. Universes Beyond is not what MtG needs. Stop trying to be Fortnite the Gathering. Magic the Gathering was just fine without crossovers.
Say what you want but since universes beyond, the magic club I help run has gotten so many new players and it’s been so fun playing magic with them. It’s been nothing but positive from my experiences
@JasonOshinko Mostly a comment on how quick the transition was, but I suppose the rest of the year isn't as bad. That said, would have loved a draft guide/archetypes short hand etc., considering the set is draftable and preview events are all draft.
It is just a remastered set, not any new lore or world building to go over so they spend the time and resources to get the audience invested into the new one.
@@dygitalsol7312 I mean sure, but why did they make one if they spent barely any time on it. Basic example, there are only 8 2-color signpost uncommons. Inferring the draft archetypes from the weeklyMTG stream instead. It's tough.
@@magic_clawi mean, the set is draftable but it's clearly directed to collectors. I suppose they don't spend that much energy designing the draftable part of set since it's pretty difficult to balance a card pool of pretty diverse expansions all with different mechanics
Not exactly. This is still a singular unique item. It's not like they're manufacturing them. And it's always been the cause that they'd find a portal or give someone a spark if the plot dictated it. Look at Karn or Teferi.
I’m sorry but the lore of the goblins just sounds really poorly made, like what plane are they from and they worship a BOOSTGOD??? This sounds like something that was made last minute to fill the Rakdos color paring
Theres clearly a lot of effort put into the worldbuilding here but i just cant get into this set. The omenpaths make the multiverse feel so small and meaningless, they arent worlds anymore theyre just cities or nations. Really depressing that our return to Amonkhet and Avishkar, and first look at Muraganda is through a set with a bunch of race tracks getting dropped everywhere. I really wish this set had just been on Avishkar or something. Explore the rest of the plane and the cultures of the different city states. We dont get multiple sets to explore worlds/stories anymore and now we have to have 3 worlds to a single set
I mostly agree with this but I think of this as being a good way to visit planes we would have never seen as full sets or it'd be 5 years before we got back to. Muraganda probably won't ever get a full set so at least we see it here.
@@dygitalsol7312yeah omenpaths could be used for that and there’s definitely some potential in that(I’d love to see things like Ulgrotha in the absence of baron sengir as part of one), but I don’t think a race set slapping tracks all over the planes being visited is a good way for it. If we are going to see multiple planes in a set I don’t think a gimmick on top makes it work and just draws focus from the planes interacting
I'm amazed they remembered that Basri Khet exists
Magic Moses has got to be important!!
Super stoked to finally see Muraganda. This is a good method too as the planes magic which forces primitive ess was always gonna be hard to develop
I wasn't sold on the concept but I will admit the worldbuilding and story have impressed me so I look forward to more of that at least.
That seems to be the general feeling towards many of the recent sets.
Considering the back to back BANGERS of Bloomburrow and Duskmourn, I have no reason to believe this set will be any different
I mean, it could end up as another Karlov Manor, but I just built a finicky vehicle deck that needs more cool vehicles, so I wouldn't even care if it does.
They were good sets. However I miss a story.
honestly thats a fair conclusion
more duskmourn representation YESSSSS, ive gotta get me some of this for sure now, AND that Shandra is a main component
I’m really enjoying these story podcasts 😁 thank you !
I love these podcasts to break down upcoming sets and go more in depth of the story of the set , personally I get more engrossed in sets because of this , amazing work !! 😊
I’m excited for this set, Kaladesh and Aether Revolt had some of the most beautiful art. Super stoked to see some new artifacts and gadgets!
Could we at least get 1 preview card?
Literally like
Predictions:
WU - Robot dudes (Voyagers?)
UB - Duskmourn Speed Demons
BR - Goblin Rocketeers
RG - Endriders
GW - City thing (Elakria?)
WB - Amonkhet
UR - Avishkar
BG - Insect Brood
RW - Kylem/Chandra
GU - Sharks and stuff
Sharks are clearly in izzet clothes
@Largosmetal if the other 8 were correct, that would mean Avishkar is GU? I guess it's possible
@aurabozzi228 that's what I see most people guessing, also sharks have ragavan they have to be in red
@@Largosmetal yeah I don't know why I ignored the Ragavan part. Do you agree with the other 8?
@@aurabozzi228 Endriders felt more rakdos to me and Goblins gruul, again seeing the color of their cards helps with that assumption
So Garruk is in Muraganda, nice!
If this set doesn’t have a single Redline reference I’ll lose it
My love for Redline is what's making me excited about this set. I don't need any direct references, but if it's anything like that, then I'll be happy.
The boxart for the single collector booster packaging has a driver with pompadour in a car! Some arts seems also in cell shading so might be a small node
Love Migueeeellll!!!!!!!!! He is so talented, I am surte the set will look AMAZING!!
I was a big fan of Jeff Gordon and Nascar growing up hoping to see a Jeff Gordon inspired card in the set. Also Josef Newgarden & Indycar
Spitfire is secretly Garruk. The disguise is because it's the only way he could sneak into the set
KATCHAAAAU!
VAAAAI RELAMPAGO MARQUINHOS!
I feel we skipped a bit with ahemket. kinda wished we got to see how it got there.
Glad after we had so much fun with all the sets last year as players and collectors, the game designers and artists get to have some fun, together with us, now too. Aetherdrift is hella Comic Action coded.
The art for this set is epic
Sweet, can't wait for Tarkir!
And Kaladesh!
i plan on mixing a few of the cards from this set into random portions of my vintage binders, just to feel sad from time to time
SUPER excited to see some of the new vehicle cards that we'll see!
Woohoo! My Edward deck will be happy with new vehicles.
This new Hearthstone set looks interesting
I hope this bring new "world" enchantments in the form of courses
A bold request, though I’d think courses would more likely be the return of Battles. After all, this is a combat sport…
So what are the chances that by the end nissa won't need this fake spark but will instead just reignite her spark in the process of saving Chandra
That's a good theory, whose gonna get it then? A new Planeswalker?
Vidéo cool pour cette première extension ! Et la Markov en foil, quelle chance. C’est plutôt de bonne augure pour ce début d’année et je te souhaite donc une bonne année 2025 !
I'm hoping for a Cold War between Ravnica and Akivish.
I'm so hyped to revisit amonkhet, bring me more gods!
This is on Kaladesh right..?
Yes they renamed it Arishvkar (or however it's spelled) for cultural reasons, but they also gave it a cool in story reasoning as well.
...and as they said they jump through other planes as well.
I hope this set is good.
Lol, does this make Winter and Loot the Dick Dastardly and Muttley of the set?
i was hoping for a team made up of avshkar, kaldheim and eldraine dwarves for multi-planer cooperation
I hate that it's a racing set. I hate that it's called "Grand Prix", I hate that the Mad Max plane uses oil instead of Magic....

And don’t forget the team of lightning mcqueen
Isn’t samut’s magic being super fast? I feel like that would make her my automatic team captain in a big race
Probably a colour thing, Samut is gruul/naya, Basri is just white irc. Or more likely they forgor
@ I also feel like if a person has super speed, they have to win. So maybe best to leave her out
Wouldn't that be the equivalent of putting Usain Bolt in charge of an F1 team though?
Although I knew this set would release, I just want another in universe crafted plane lol

This revolt story line sounds more interesting than the race lol have we/ are we going to see more of that? I’m generally new to magic
in the set aether revolt
It look like a very cool set! And of course anything for another run on Avishkar 🎉
Wait.... did she just say "old characters like Basri Ket?"
He's pretty much new right? We saw him a short while ago for the first time and he never had any story presence.
8:02 none of what you said is at all tied to the phyrexian invasion, mostly just the omen paths, which has little to nothing with phyrexia.
MTG Kart? 🤨
What happened to CHANDLER?
The guy from Homelands?
@@JasonOshinko The redhead guy on the booster pack.
He’s off chilling with Joven

I dont understand the angst, cant you just not buy the cards and play what you want?@Bobbybillybillbob
So this is just Dragon's Maze all over again, but with multiple planes
Dragon's Maze....with cars
Will definitely skip this set. The whole vibe is just not for me.
If you’re going to do UB then give us Game of Thrones or The Witcher! You would be literally printing money at that point but this, well to each their own I guess.
Nope it's gonna be James Cameron's Avatar, just in time for the third movie 😅
Hot wheels secret lair confirmed lmaoooo😂😂😂
Redline meets Magic: The Gathering.
Gonna be a banger
Setting the bar pretty low on this one
Winter should be dead, right? Retcon perhaps?
I was wondering that myself and literally just explaining that to someone!! My theory is he's an undead puppet/possessed for Valgavoth.
