These one-of-a-kind 1911 pistols were custom designed by Sig Sauer and feature the USS Arizona and the USS Oklahoma. Lou Conter was a 3rd Class Quartermaster assigned to the USS Arizona straight out of boot camp in 1939. He was in the aft portion of the ship when a bomb hit the forward magazine killing 1,177 men. Lou, who was supposed to attend pilot school a few weeks after December 7, lost his orders as the ship sank. After some months he was reassigned to Pensacola and became a pilot on a PBY as part of the "Black Cat" Squadron. He served in the South Pacific and continued his Navy career retiring as a LCDR.
David Russell was aboard the USS Oklahoma in Pearl Harbor along Battleship Row. The ship was hit by nine torpedoes and began to capsize. He barely escaped, with mere seconds to spare from the gun compartment. All of his friends in that compartment succumbed to the flooding. David was able to climb the listing deck and slide down ahold of a rope above the burning, oil-slicked water, barely getting aboard the USS Maryland, moored alongside. In 1942, he was reassigned to the USS Mahan and saw action in the Gilbert Islands, Guadalcanal, Santa Cruz Islands, New Guinea, New Britain and Leyte Gulf. In 1944, the USS Mahan was struck by three kamikaze planes and sunk off of Leyte in the Philippines. David was rescued by a cargo vessel after being swept into the open waters of the Pacific. Once recovered, he was assigned to the heavy cruiser USS Bremerton in the East China Sea and eventually Japan’s coastline.

I'm in awe of what Sig and you all are doing for the veterans. I love them so much. I have learned so much from them and try to understand what they went through. They are a piece of history that can't be forgotten. Their voices need to be heard. I pray we never forget and always honor them. Thank you gentlemen for your service and keeping USA free. If I have $10-15k free up right now I would 100% bid but unfortunately times are a bit tough with the market and all. I wish y'all the absolute best in auctioning these pistols to the highest bidder.
Believe me, I wish I could buy them myself 😂😂😂😪😪😪😪😪. I went around filming them and when I got them home, it was hard to put them up for auction.
