HOW is this good quality of a punjabi movie from 1969, ive seen punjabi movies from around 15 years ago with worse quality than this. Unbelievable this gem is. It still holds up really well.
Well this is a digitally remastered version of the movie, though I have to say even the original's camera quality was pretty colorful for its time.. Beautiful cinematography
Watched this movie when i was a kid, and now, the power of god is shown in the movie, everyone must visit the golden temple doesn't matter which colour or religion you are. Sikhism respects all.❤
Watched this gem in 1979 in our Aunt's home in Sialkot, Pakistan on Amritsar Tv on Sunday night. Watching again in 2020. Where have all that time gone.......

Look movie has good msg but yet that where that "ashiqi" is shown, there things can't be related to Gurmatt. But for you nothing is big deal & I know why some peacocks in my Sikh community behave that way. Fault is in Thier Nurture not directly in themselves.

NNJH was a super hit of its day launched to coincide with the 500th birth anniversaryof Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. You will see some footage of those actual celebrations during the credits at the start of the film. To look back 50 years later and criticise the film for x, y and z is to misunderstand its purpose at the time. To me, it very much stands the test of time as a beautiful film with a beautiful message and beautiful shabad kirtan. And like I said, the late and great Prithviraj Kapoor's role is priceless.
