I was working out of state and the hotel I was staying in held an airline training….the trainers left two of these behind for the hotel to dispose…..I snatched them and shipped them home. Great Lake toys
Luckily ive never had to see that happen in person ! But i always wondered what it would look like Thank Goodness for You Tube ! It’s always been my fear of seeing one deployed during one of my Journeys , many years ago while cruising through the Carribean while on watch i spotted a foreign color in the distance. What appeared to be on top of the water and my heart raced and Adrenalin began pumping while i changed course and began scanning with mu Feild Glasses i did locate what caught my eye only to discover it was a big group of party Balloons. Floating on the surface Thank God ! We actually got a big laugh and a sigh of relief over that but it proved to me this old Salty Dog still had it together out at Sea ! Of course we safely got into my harbor In the next few days about 1500 miles away from those damn balloons
Radios are no standard there, but SART which makes you much more visible for all surrounding ships and guard them towards you as well as an EPIRB which is a beacon that sends a distress signal to satellites with your location.
The rope that you see in the video is attached to the ship, so when the ship goes down ( and raft stays on the surface) the rope is pulled and the raft gets inflated
Success but they took too long to open it. Life rafts are the last option because although work well in a nice flat swimming pool. Entering them from a sinking vessel in 30ft waves and 60mph winds is a different story.
That hissing is the excess air being vented. Usually the bottles that are attached to the raft are designed to push more air into the raft than needed (I wager for fast inflation) so the excess air valves vent off any excess. They usually stop after about a minute or two. Usually a raft comes with a top-off valve (or two if it's double-chambered) as well, with a hand pump for topping off. Also note in terms of changing conditions on the water (air pressure, temperatures of the air and sea, etc) it may be necessary to vent a little air or add air.
We need more videos like this on youtube
i lowkey wanna get one for the pool in my yard and camp out in it with a friend
Not alone bub
I would just buy that raft to chill in.
Tiger H. Lore once they are "expired" they are typically disposed of. you can sometimes get your hands on one real cheap
Serveck good to know. Thanks. 👍🏽
Do they sell rafts like this with roofs and isn't a liferaft?
I wonder how much a life raft would cost...
@@heal0152 1500 euro + (source liferaft sales/inspector myself)

No you didn't...
I would try and salvage those covers too, for water holding
Looks like they sink pretty fast.
Someone just figured out how slow mode works on my phone

In the middle of that should be an emergency distress radio or a few of them. Some water and some unperishable food enough to last you at least a week
There usually is I opened one with my cadet unit an d there whas a massive bag of stuff, no radios though.

And after they all went out to get gyro's......
Pretty cool!! But, that has got to the slowest slow motion I have EVER seen on a video!! Wow!
there's a camera that can record light... a million or billion frames per second.
wtf, that's impossible, light is what we use to record, and even if it took quintillions frames per second it still wouldn't be possible
it uses precisely timed lasers to capture photons
:) ...is very simple, for this video i have used one iPhone 6 with the mode "video slow motion" standard on app photo of iOS
Gustavo it is search for it on RUclips.
Woa. Great video. So that how life raft automatically inflate itself when ship sinks or be tested

@@mitsos306ify And once the raft is inflated it has enough buoyancy to break the link holding the raft to avoid it getting dragged down with the ship
The liferaft.our team's lovely job.god save our BOSS.
Fuck, pull the dam cord man!!!!
Very very nice 👍
No stiletto heels allowed on board! 😎
Where does the plastic protective covering go after?
The container could be used to catch rainwater.
there are arrangements on the canopy to collect rain water.
Raft actually opens at 0:50
It's like camping in the ocean...
In actual case .. what happens to the cover .. is it left in the sea .. or what
It should open automatically when contacting water.
TFW you don't hydrostatic valve
Once the buoyancy is regained ... it must open at the FIRST stroke!

Nice
Enjoy the sea? Considering you’ve probably just lost your boat and are gonna be adrift for potentially an unknown amount of time... Sounds fun!
it was obviously a joke
Hello, what kind of life raft was that? I like the hard shell. Thanks!
hope it helps, take care: www.force4.co.uk/seago-sea-master-liferaft-canister.html
This raft was a Survitec DSB raft
Are you stupid?
nice

The slowmo was completely unnecessary. You clearly just discovered the slow motion feature on your phone... It added nothing
I doubt that people enjoy the sea once in one of these devices.
God forbid that any will be deployed in the future.
it was obviously a joke.. :)
Reddit sent me.
ABANDON SHIP
These guys spend
Wow it’s like a little inflatable tent on the water
The video looks like it is uncomfortable
US NAVY HAS THESE BUT MUCH BIGGER
The stand size for passenger ships is 24man
Ještě bych tam přidal nějaké další víc výraznější reflexní prvky.
aaah even a woman can pull the cord... harder.
Was this test a success or failure? Was the raft loosing air afterwards?

@@scottwhitley3392 depends on the design, but usually as you said, it's a last resort.
