- Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be among the first Android smartphones to have a better single-core score than the latest iPhone. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 on the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to boast an impressive single-core score of 3,500 in a Geekbench 6 test, surpassing the reported 3,300 single-core score of Apple's A18 Pro. This marks the first time a Snapdragon chip has outperformed an Apple A-series chip in single-core performance, and this is huge for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and for Android in general.
Also, the sales of the Galaxy S24 Ultra have been revealed.

@@island661 I got my S24 Ultra with a crazy deal Tmobile was having, for $1,000 off, and my trade in for $150, but paid taxes and activation cost.
The screen is so much better, I love the flat display, it does make a difference than the curved display. The camera is a lot better, and AI is fun. If you're into the s pen, it's also fun to have the option to use it.

It all started when Samsung took processors seriously and had custom solutions to custom hardware. This is in contrast to off-the-shelf SOCs for custom confirmations that lack tight integration and optimisation front to end. Samsung is getting there, but reluctantly as they keep dragging sround thst dead horse: exynos. It's great if you get an ulta but sucks as far as series uniformity goes for the regulr s24 and 24 plus. This isnt a trend that isnt going away, unfortunately.

That's great the new Snap Dragon chipset will outshine the chipset on the iPhones. Also, it's great that it's more power efficient. It took quite some time for Snap Dragon to do it, but the important thing is they got it done now. Two more things Samsung needs to do with the upcoming S25 Ultra would be to bring back memory expansion and to increase the screen size. As for memory expansion, the last mainline flagship Samsung phone that came with it was the Note 20 Ultra which I still have. There are 2 TB micro sd cards available now. So, might as well put them to use. As for the screen size, it needs an increase. The S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra and the newly released S24 Ultra unfortunately all have the "same" screen size at 6.8 inches. Historically, Samsung never did that by having four consecutive years of the same screen size. There was always a slight incremental screen size increase annually. The 6.8 inches is smaller than the screen size of the Note 20 Ultra which came in a 6.9 inches. If Samsung increase the height of the upcoming S25 Ultra by 1 millimeter and remove both the top and bottom bezels, a screen size increase to an even 7 inches or 7.1 inches would be achievable easily. If that increase happens, the phone would still easily fit into our pockets.

I read that in th US one carrier works with SpaceX to bring sattelite connection to phones with low altitude of satelites. It would not required special antenas. Sounds great

Just got the S24 ultra from S20 ultra. I'm so far impressed, just one thing there seems to be not much difference with the S23 Ultra if you have an S23 ultra don't upgrade

So just because the S25 will be using the SD 8 Gen 4 that's suppose to surpass Apple's A-Bionoc chipset, is Apple suppose to not be upgrading their next processor also, so the scores being shown are against a processor that will be deemed old, that would be like Apple comparing the Max 15 to the SD 8 Gen 2, I'm pretty sure they'll be much closer to one another than what your reporting

I had the s21 ultra and used it heavily for nearly 2 and a half years. Longest a phone has ever lasted me without breaking screen. I pulled phone out my pocket one day at work and the screen was shattered. I had no idea how it happened it was really bizarre. I baught S23 ultra just before the 24 released. Other than a slightly brighter screen and better quality in the camera which I barely use coz I dont use social media. I dont feel or notice anything difference from the 23 ultra.... oh the battery lasts longer. But literally feels the same phone as the 23 to me. Not sure if it's worth upgrading often because it feels like the same phone to me. I dont necessarily see or feel better performance and all that jazz
Do it like me, I change my smartphone from now on every 2-3 years. Then it's worth the change.

I daily drive the fold 1, the s10+ 512gb, and s20 ultra 512gb and these phones are so good that i didn't need to upgrade. But I'm still curious
Day to day I feel we have being a peek on the power speed on mobile phone. From s21 ultra to s24 ultra we can barely see the speed difference. iPhone 13 Pro to 15 pro almost if not feels exactly the same.
From last 2years hearing this year might Qualcomm surpass bionic😅.but im happy with my 23u and 24u

Hope app developers will utilize the potential of the chip. App optimization is something that Android is still a little behind iOS, which is the developers' fault, but it is closer than before.

S24U enough for me bud cz these things are just numbers for me S24U better than that 15 pro max for me i have tried both OneUI feels way more comfortable
cooling is required not gpu and cpu performance no matter how great the chip is it needs cooling
On S25 Samsung will need to put a bigger and efficient cooling system for that monster chip, otherwise next Iphone can't be beaten.

I don't care about anything. I just hope that they improve better picture quality and better video equality and not rush the phone. You should be able to take the phone out of the box point and shoot, not tweak. it trying to get the picture looking better, like the S24 ultra definitely could improve better picture and better.Video quality needs a lot of work...

If the s25 comes out as the fastest device, it will make a nice jump from my s23, but if it is slower than the iphone (and no ultra cameras on the fold yet) I might as well hold out another year.

The S24 Ultra comes with 7 years of software updates. Wait until the S30 Ultra comes out. I can imagine that it will have infinite battery life, frightening performance, cellular reception no matter where you are, can read your mind, and the most realistic screen you could ever have; it'll be just like real life in front of your eyes.
S8G4 is overpowered for a smartphone. So is A18 pro. Why so much power on CPU but the focus is GPU, NPU and ISP.
