    I bought an a7II in 2020 and I'm happy with my decision. It has all the features that I need at half the price of the a7III. I already have an a6000, so I can share all my lenses and my speed-light between both cameras. Many features of the a7III don't matter to me such as the dual card slots, bigger battery, and the 4k video.

    I just bought this camera (I also own the Sony a6500) and the thing that surprised me the most was that there was no silent mode. So if shooting silently is something you need, this is not a camera for you. Otherwise it's a great camera.

      how's the low light + dynamic range? I know it's no a7s but I'm very interested in how it compares to aspc's and other full frames you've tried

    I purchased an a7II at Best Buy for $1,200 including the lens kit but then the a7rII went on sale on Amazon for the same price (also with the lens kit) - so I returned the a7II and got the a7rII instead. And simply put it, the a7rII is superior in every measure, the autofocus, the large 42MP BSI sensor, 4k capabilities.

    The rather unfortunate downside of Sony's menu system is that you cannot add quick favorites to a separate page. You would have to page through all the settings every time you are changing something that isn't your usual setting change.

      I've been thinking the same. I absolutely love Olympus and their bodies-lenses, but I want a better range for low light situations and I really like Sigma and Tamron lenses. Olympus has beautiful lenses by far the best I've seen but I've found there's a limit to the sensor for what I want to do.

    Can Tamron 70/200 2.8 fit Sony 7ii

    • @m1werx704
      @m1werx704  4 года назад

      If I’m correct, I believe the 70/200 Tamron is a Sony A mount so you’d need an adapter if there is one as the a7ii has an E-mount

    How’s the Tamron lens perform with the A7ii, specifically for photography??

    • @m1werx704
      @m1werx704  4 года назад +1

      It does very well on the photo side of things. Autofocus is quick. The a7ii is the bottleneck for the system. The Tamron was built for the a7iii so it had to keep up with that autofocus system. Still a great combo and I’ve never had any problems. Only a little difficult to get focus on backlit subjects

    Is the kit lens ok for landscape photography?

  • @NLMusique
    @NLMusique 4 года назад +1

    Nice Review of the camera. I have a question. I'm using the Sony a6400 (aps-c sensor camera) right now. I travel quite a bit for vacation (not at the moment). How quickly does the camera focus if say I use the new Tamron lenses? I mean let's say I'm on a tour and as you know tours don't stop too long at one place. I usually shoot in aperture mode. I am just worried that I might miss a shot. With the a6400, I can take a few shots and knowing that one of them would come out.

    • @m1werx704
      @m1werx704  4 года назад

      Thank you! And great question, the a6400 is a relatively new camera so it’s going to have a significantly better autofocus system compared to the a7ii. The Tamron lens is very snappy, even on the a7ii but I have had some issues where it will miss focus especially wide open. From watching reviews of the lens the a7ii is likely the bottle neck in my system. So I would say that you’ve got a good body and Tamron would compliment it nicely but keep in mind that you would be starting at an equivalent focal length of roughly 40mm (28*1.5). Hope that helps!

    • @NLMusique
      @NLMusique 4 года назад +1

      @@m1werx704 Thank you. Maybe, I will continue to use the a6400 for a bit more before deciding to switch over to the a7iii instead. I know the a7iii would cost more so I will save money for it while using my current a6400.

    • @m1werx704
      @m1werx704  4 года назад +1

      I think that’s definitely the way to go, the upgrade to full frame is great but I think it’s best to wait and save for a new model that will have comparable autofocus ability to your current camera

    what u think the original sony a7?

    • @m1werx704
      @m1werx704  4 года назад

      I’m not sure you’d be able to find one new but after a quick google they’re around the same price used as an a7ii used also. I would personally go for the a7ii, you get a few more megapixels and a more updated autofocus system. The a7ii has its own autofocus issues on its own. In some of my videos you can see focus pop in and out sometimes. I would imagine the original struggles even more. Hope that helped! :)

    so I think canon eos rp will be better at roughly the same price but way newer

    • @m1werx704
      @m1werx704  4 года назад

      If you look strictly at the price of bodies sure. But what’s the cheapest zoom rf lens? 24-240 will run you close to $800. So yes you’re right but the eos rp is significantly more when viewed as a kit

    • @m1werx704
      @m1werx704  4 года назад

      Also if I were to get an rp I’d want the 24-105 f4 constant which increases price again

    • @ahmednasr93
      @ahmednasr93 4 года назад

      @@m1werx704 it comes with the adaptor so you can use all canon lenses and not have to get the expensive rf glass
      well when I thought about it I thought of my needs tilt screen and only 50 mm f1.8 (100 USD) which is 300 USD for sony

    • @m1werx704
      @m1werx704  4 года назад

      So in that case then sure it is a better deal. But that is specific to you. Even with my 28-75 2.8 and a7ii body, it still costs less than the rp kit I would want. I like zoom lenses for utility and multi use capacity

    • @m1werx704
      @m1werx704  4 года назад

      I have looked into the rp quite a bit as it is the camera I would’ve gotten but the price point was a little high
