I have followed George Duke and Chaka Khan since the 70's....George will always have a place in my heart and Chaka ever since " Tell me sumdin good". Wow! Such an amazing voice! I will follow her to the end. This is my peace♡
I asked Chaka to sing this LIVE at Ronnie Scott's this week........she was just 30 feet away from me........my whole mind and body was transfixed. I love this woman. RIP George
tonartification YES. She sang it un-accompanied.......incredible. Many of the audience shook my hand after the performance. It was on 13th May early evening session. Tracey and I paid £275 each to see her....worth every penny.
Martin Platt ... come on - London is expensive, but 275 Pound for one show @ Ronnie Scotts is REALLY strange, isn't it?! Years ago I used to see Roy Ayers there. Ok I was on the guestlist, but the ordinary entrance fee was much much less ...
tonartification Yes, 275 was well over and that's obvious. BUT I guess because it was SOLD OUT after a week it says it all really. Incognito were also amazing.....I'd love to see Roy live....perhaps prices have just gone up.
My God! ,only God could have produced something so mesmerizingly beautiful! Chaka is gorgeous! Even if she never sang a note, i could stare at her 25/7
LOVEEEEEEEEEEE me some Chaka she feels like a sista in the spirit music and truth l grew up and thru her music and raw delivery of her emotion saved me from myself on many instances.
So moving, so classy, so splendid and eternal. Legendary Chaka Khan: as magnificent as always. OMG she is so beautiful dressed like this (I mean she's always sexy and gorgeous, but that suits her so well). Great voice and talent. Very touching tribute.
Thanks for sharing. These memorials videos gave us all some insight into George Duke's legacy. We see and understand that his net-worth is this network of musicians he touched in the most soulful of ways. With love, warmth, smiles and understanding. Gratitude.
You may indeed be the only one who is posting the whole memorial service and for this we are all blessed.....Thank you so much. Indeed....God Bless George for his life long gift to us....!!! I did live in Cali for a long time (in San Diego) and then have moved on to New Jersey and now in Midwest in Kansas City. My eyes are filled with tears and joy for all the wonderful people who came to memorialize "The Duke"......I have photographed most of them over the years.....
thanks for sharing these touching and powerful moments with those of us who have been blessed by the creativity passion and hard work of these folks. Shalom.
Thanks again for your comment! I only did that 'cause I was the biggest Duke-fan "ever" and I still am today!! Just like Herbie H. ...

Like to help. It was interesting - Chaka is great as always; but the keyboardist is clearly
off topic.
