I get loads of them with varying colours because they self seed. I’ve got a clay soil and I never water or feed them. I’ve just seen the pale blue and white ones so I’ve bought some seeds and I hope they germinate. They are in the Fridge at the moment but I will plant them soon. I’m in the UK, in Yorkshire half way up near Scotland.
I hope to see mine bloom in spring 2024! UPDATE 2024-06-02: winter sowing converted ZERO columbine. 😣 I'll just buy one at the nursery and soil-plant it. This looks too good for spring flowers!
They grow very well where my grandparents live in old Hurum Norway, only thing they get is some water if it hasn't rained for a month(which never happens in Norway).
Hey,I am in England & this is the first year I have grown Aquilegia properly..I have grown the seeds, got the leaves, but didn't know they took two years lol..Anyway this year I got the flowers & omg are they beautiful, they even look pretty from the back,I am so in love with them..Some Aquilegia grow & the flower faces the floor like a little umbrella, but mine faced to the side, you know like a sunflower & omg they are pretty.. I am just looking to see if they self seed or if I can collect the seeds..My fella bought me the seeds think it was two packs for £1..I definitely want to get some more..I used a bit of blood fish & bone & chicken manure, but I didn't use any the first year(only cause I never had any, couldn't afford it)but used it this year, but I don't go mad..I like to feed the soil.. At the end of the year I get loads of oak leaves & cover my soil,I tell you what the soil is better the next year(it's bought stuff)although I am making my own compost now aswell..
