I guess they could've had mini-games from that game and just incorporated motion controls for the touch mechanics. But I think they wanted to refrain from having minigames involving pointing or motion controls. I think they really did want a return to form.
I went to look up those voice clips from Mario Golf Toadstool Tour. I used to play that game so much as a kid, and I didn’t remember those LOL. They’re funny!
