Hey mate - great video. Just wondering where you bought the device that connected both your aerial cords into one? I have looked around and can’t find it
I honestly don't believe there is a cable to connect an amp to it. Connections at the back are quite limited, from what I recall. There was the antenna connectors, 1 for the reversing camera, then the square locking cable.
Hey mate did you end up finding out about the amp..I just bought an rcd330 and was wondering the same thing..Do you have to get a line output converter?
You can either get an amp with a built in line output or you can get a cheap line output converter to tap into the speakers. Orrrr you could get something like an lc2i which would guarantee a clean signal it also wouldn't require a renote cable since it has an auto remote detect function. Enjoy
Thanks for the feedback! The RCD330 I got, did come with an adapter cable for the reverse camera. So dependent on which RCD330 kit you get, you MAY require an additional cable.
The 2010 is the 6R model right? I had one before too. I believe it should be fine, as the RCD330 works across a lot of VW vehicles. Some of the sellers states it should be fine with vehicle models after 2009z
Honestly, I cannot help with that. 🤷♂️ But what I have read on the rcd330plus forum, I believe you need specific makes and some firmware versions for it to support dynaaudio. Also, a bit of work afterwards using VCDS aswell. Not sure if you’re okay with the extra work that comes with this?
Have a good look into the RCD330 variations. Some models you can update the firmware and some are a bit more restricted. I sadly, bought the one that’s a bit more restricted. 🤦♂️
CarPlay does not work over Bluetooth for this unit. But, I have recently gone over the settings. And Bluetooth options there for sync’ing with your phone. BUT, like I said CarPlay does not work over Bluetooth. Can only assume it’s for other simple sync options.
Good question!!! I actually have never tested that out. I’ll give that a try today! (If I can find an aux cable… somewhere in the house) Will let you know how I get on with it
Not tried with an AUX yet… BUT, from playing about with the menu, I don’t think it’s possible. I don’t see an AUX input option, ONLY SD Card, USB and Bluetooth. Once I find the cable, I’ll give it a go.
Sup Dude Linkin here. Been having stereo problems myself im also considering geting the same upgrade as you did, just one problem i noticed in ur vid you didnt check whether the reverse cam works can you please update on that also.
It does support reverse cam, depending on the version of the system you get. Wiring will be different dependent on the system you get aswell, and IF you need to fit a reverse camera too. Majority of the systems will support reverse camera, you just need to research on the one you’re planning to buy and what it supports.
You have a long way to go as far as presenting an instructional or advisory video. In simple terms it was as clear as mud. Terminology is useful such as quadlock fitting and suggest pointing the camera at the piece being worked on and show the difference between the old and new rear of the head units. Finally, most people watching your video know how to work a Torque 20 driver.
Thanks for taking your time to check out the video Andy! I appreciate the feedback! I understand like a lot of my videos they can be quite rough, and I am always trying to improve with each video.

BUT as far as I know the unit should support rear camera, I am unsure if it would continue supporting the OPS function though.
Hey all . The can doesn't work if you install this way , will figure out what I need and let you know
good video will do the same to my MK6 but the rcd's are expensive here
Thanks very much! Appreciate the feedback! 🙏
Where have you been looking for the RCD330? I found that eBay seems to show up with the most options, whereas other online platforms. The prices are quite high. Good Luck with getting your MK6 upgraded! 👍
AliExpress have definitely the best prices, but it took somewhere from 2 to 3weeks for mine to arrive
@@Hamamiz1 I almost bought from AliExpress too, but felt a bit more confident with eBay. Since I’ve never bought from AliExpress before.
But thanks for sharing 👍
Hey mate - great video. Just wondering where you bought the device that connected both your aerial cords into one? I have looked around and can’t find it
My cords came with my unit.. I’ll see if I can find them on eBay, and share a link with you.
This one should do it

@@WhatThePun thanks for the response. The link isn’t working for me - any chance you can tell me what I am looking for? Sorry for the hassle
@@tobyhealey7426 i just did an eBay search for
RCD330 cables
Hey bro does it also have a remote cable to connect to an amplifier?
Enjoy
@@dreamwithdre champion thanks mate
Very useful information there! Thanks for sharing! 🙏
Does the reversing camera work with RCD330?
Yes it does! 👍
I don’t have them on mine, but you do have the option to pair reverse camera with the RCD330.
@@WhatThePun do you have to buy something extra for that or does it instantly work? Very helpful vid btw👍🏻
Thanks for the feedback!
The RCD330 I got, did come with an adapter cable for the reverse camera.
So dependent on which RCD330 kit you get, you MAY require an additional cable.
Awaiting see footage of a stock reversing camera on this unit
@@WhatThePun Do you need an adapter? I've read that one is needed...
Does it still work?
Yes! it very much still works! 😂
Can this be used for a vw polo 2010 ?
The 2010 is the 6R model right? I had one before too.
I believe it should be fine, as the RCD330 works across a lot of VW vehicles.
Some of the sellers states it should be fine with vehicle models after 2009z
Does it downgrade dynaudio??
Honestly, I cannot help with that. 🤷♂️
But what I have read on the rcd330plus forum, I believe you need specific makes and some firmware versions for it to support dynaaudio.
Also, a bit of work afterwards using VCDS aswell. Not sure if you’re okay with the extra work that comes with this?
Any battery drain issues? Wondering if I'd have to upgrade my canbus with the RCD330. I have a 2007 MK5 GTI
Good question!
As far as I know and what I’ve read, the adapter that comes with the unit prevents the battery drain issue.
@@WhatThePun oh nice... ill have to check that one out then.
Have a good look into the RCD330 variations. Some models you can update the firmware and some are a bit more restricted.
I sadly, bought the one that’s a bit more restricted. 🤦♂️
Golf 6‘s dont have the battery issue anymore, its just the 5s.
@@BerlinBLR Thanks for sharing!
Is it not Bluetooth ?
CarPlay does not work over Bluetooth for this unit. But, I have recently gone over the settings. And Bluetooth options there for sync’ing with your phone. BUT, like I said CarPlay does not work over Bluetooth.
Can only assume it’s for other simple sync options.
Hey mate! Does the aux under the arm rest still work? Just bought mine, currently waiting for it to turn up
Good question!!!
I actually have never tested that out.
I’ll give that a try today! (If I can find an aux cable… somewhere in the house)
Will let you know how I get on with it
Not tried with an AUX yet… BUT, from playing about with the menu, I don’t think it’s possible.
I don’t see an AUX input option, ONLY SD Card, USB and Bluetooth.
Once I find the cable, I’ll give it a go.
It won’t, the real RCD330 has a Aux port on the screen.
@@WhatThePun Thank you, I had a feeling that it might be the case. Well luckily I only got it for the CarPlay
Wow definitely not the right head unit
My one stopped working after just over a month from aliexpress
I’ve read in some forums that some people have had issues sadly. Some with screen related issues.
Have you replaced yours yet?
You have a long way to go as far as presenting an instructional or advisory video. In simple terms it was as clear as mud. Terminology is useful such as quadlock fitting and suggest pointing the camera at the piece being worked on and show the difference between the old and new rear of the head units. Finally, most people watching your video know how to work a Torque 20 driver.
Thanks for taking your time to check out the video Andy!
I appreciate the feedback! I understand like a lot of my videos they can be quite rough, and I am always trying to improve with each video.
