Yeah the mk5 for example you’d have to dissemble the entire top of the dash around the head unit to pull it out lol

That's not a 330 that looks like the newer 360 pro model .... I can tell by the location of the mic it's now located near the SD card slot where it use to occupy the scan button location.

I thought about upgrading mine to an VW aftermarket that already has wireless android auto, and or google maps. The only reason I haven't done it is because I don't know if my backup camera will still function.
People have told me they’ve had no issues with the backup camera working with the new head unit but I can’t testify to that as my wagon doesn’t have a back up camera

Anytime! And tbh that’s a first for me that I’m not 100% sure. I know the head unit works flawlessly with the back up cameras and different Audio systems but the park pilot not sure. Hopefully someone can chime in
I got the 360 and I couldn’t go past 3/4 volume and it would start going high and low fading out. I returned it.
I’ve seen descriptions where some head units won’t work with the fender audio system. Do you know if it will? Is there anything on this for satellite radio? How would you “make it work” for the backup camera?

Do you know if it's possible to get the unit to work with a backup camera at all? We have a 2015 Jetta with a backup camera and all I've seen is that if you replace the head unit like this the rear view camera doesn't work anymore.
Still trying to figure out the backup camera, what I know is that you need to buy an adaptor and plug it to unit and also to the rear tail lights, but the adaptor is sold out everywhere and the only ones you can get are rom China, and sometimes they do not work. Ppl sometimes buy 4 adaptors until they find one that works, but what I do know is that you cannot connect it to the cigarette lighter or the yellow and red cords together, but have to send a wire through your whole car!
I was told by VW that I needed to replace my radio. Currently my display panel will just shut off for a few seconds and then come back on. I wonder if this would fix? VW dealership wants almost $1300 to fix.
It’s possible it will fix it if it’s the actual head unit that has an issue but let’s say your issue is a wiring or short for example this will experience the same problems. If they tell you for sure the head unit is the problem then this will work without issues but you need to know

I saw online that if the car is older than 2010 it could cause battery drainage
I know 2 people same head unit 1 is a 2009 jetta and the other a 2008 gti and they’ve never had battery drain issues. I’m assuming it’s from either installation error or another issue. But can’t say 100% but I haven’t heard of any battery issues with this setup

Doesn't this mess up your cars MIC when making calls? Ie, it won't use the cars MIC and makes poor quality phone calls as a result? Also, don't you need a specific version of this unit depending on if you have a reverse camera or not? Thanks for the vid!

I’ve just purchased an RCD410 to replace the RNS510 in my Mk6 Golf R. I haven’t installed it yet, but judging by how easy it looks to do, it won’t be long before I do.

Can you control the radio with the steering wheel? It's the radio compatible with dynaudio in a mk6?

Does it work with the Dynaudio premium speaker system in the MK6? The dynaudio will need a data stream connection from the head unit (bottom left if you’re looking at the back) as the amp won’t turn on without the data connection?
Great video my Golf MK6 has parking sonic detector display on the screen when in reverse with the original unit, will I loose that?

The one I got for my 2014 vw jetta premium it isn’t adding up there’s a red wire hanging out and I hook everything else up and it doesn’t have sound I don’t understand
Do you have still the car controll options like tps reset.
The only way for to reset my tire pressure and save it is by my radio I don’t have separate button for it.

Yeah didn’t even realize the bottom 2 popped off at the time lol super sensitive. Luckily a new trim isn’t too much but it’s tight! 🤷🏽♂️ best upgrade for the price though! Haha
@@DArias ya we have put tools right under the clip so it will not stress out much and break. It’s better if you mention that in the video. For starters you did great job on the video. You don’t seem upset on the video. Usually some people don’t do well when creating the content on the RUclips.
Thanks man! And yeah I actually added that piece as a side note in the comments. At that point in time I was focused on the camera making sure it wasn’t blurry etc so I didn’t seem to realize the 2 on the bottom did in fact pop off and when putting the trim back on it all snapped in perfectly so I didn’t notice either lol. Once editing I did notice and laughed. Again thank you for the kind words! RUclips is awkward sometimes talking to yourself on a camera lol
Saw a question about Mk7 and fender system. I assume this woukd not work? I have the "car" button on my 2015 GSW tdi and that has all the system monitors for tires. Convenience users etc.

This specific one I do not believe will but not 100% sure. I do know they sell specific ones for the a3 but i would google the exact one for your application

I haven’t experienced nor do I know someone who experience parasitic draws while off. Buttons work like oem no issues at all!

It’s a great unit that functions well! It’s a nice improvement over the stock screen imo and having CarPlay is just the icing on top

Some mk6 VWs have Fender Audio and a backup camera. These are 2 things that you don't address in your video. You must have a real base VW wagon.
What about the models that have Fender audio?

@@DArias Got it today and installed it! Works great! I however didn't need the extra (white tip) small cable as it didn't come with it. Apparently my model of stereo head didn't need the other wire adapter. What does that wire do anyway? The only issue I can see is that I can't seem to pick up any radio stations at the moment...

Do you have the quiet static sound even with the radio turned all the way down? Its not noticeable when diving but with just the radio on its a little annoying.
Tbh I haven’t noticed any sort of sound even when it’s off
@@DArias I think it went away like a day after installing, maybe the car had to recalibrate or something
If it helps, I have had that noise when my input cables have not been quite soldered properly..
