I could go on and on recommending songs, each a hidden gem full to the brim with amazing guitar work, thoughtful lyrics and clever composition. Just pick any of these, you won't be disappointed.

Damn, I forgot about this song! Brings me back to my late teens. I played in a band back then & our practice place, (the guitar players moms house) was a couple houses away from Steve Wacholz, AKA Dr. Killdrums for his huge drumsticks that looked like broom sticks & he slammed on those drums!
Anyway, I got to know Steve & hung out with him a few times & when they got to open for Iron Maiden my girlfriend & I got to see the show from a sweet spot that was about 10ft away & right in front of Steve Harris, my idol at the time, & at one point he was looking right in my eyes & singing with me, then he pointed at me & gave me a thumbs up. It was one of my favorite concerts & a great memory. I also remember when Chris Oliva died on the way to a concert that I was going to go see. It was in Florida where the band was from, so the band was kind of a 'local boys go big' thing back then & when Chris died ot was all over the radio & news. A sad day for the fans & especially the band & Chris' brother Jon who was the singer. They never really recovered from that tragedy.
If you're interested in another great song from them, check out "Gutter Ballet," it's another ballad, but a bit harder...
Great vid as always, catch ya next one...btw T, I got a song request you're gonna love, but I'll get to that later...🤘😁

When it first came out I might have been 17 or turned 17 shortly after it came out and initially I was so disappointed however by the 3rd listen I was hooked and still to this day feel it’s the best album they did. Apparently, this song is part of a "trilogy" on the Gutter Ballet album - it falls in between Mentally Yours and Thorazine Shuffle. I can see a definite connection between those two songs, but I cannot fathom how (or why) Summer's Rain gets sandwiched in between them? There's not a single lyric I can find that even hints at referencing either of the other 2 songs.
Anyway, that's just a fun fact.

Saving for later. Savatage is an extremely under-rated band. If you didn't know, they're the heavy metal part of Christmas powerhouse Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Their song everyone knows (carol of the bells) is actually a song from a Savatage album about the Bosnian war, an old man plays his cello the town square every night to prove his homeland isn't dead, and the war erupts around him. On the Dead Winter Dead album it's known as "Christmas Eve / Sarajevo (12/24)"

Savatage sirens, nechrophelia, power of the night, but hey react to their song streets, it's chilly to react to this one, it defined the new darker Era for savatage in the 90s... Actually you can choose any random song from any savatage album
