The greatness of TTY is not because she can produce such shots, but the way she makes them looks so easy! You would only know once you try to replicate those shots!🫡❤
I sincerely hope that she wins in Paris before she retires as it would be fitting for such a great player. However, it will be a massive challenge to achieve that as the dominant player by far during the last 12-18 months has been ASY. If ASY is fully fit, it's really her title to lose. I find it such a pity that Tai did not fully capitalize on those years as the dominant women's player to win a world title or an Olympic 🥇.

Her unimaginable creativity hinders her from being great. Too much unforced error from executing ‘creative’ shots. Nice to watch but lack the consistency.
With that playstyle one's bound to be prone to errors. Badminton is asking a lot from an athlete to be honest, speed and accuracy, two things that doesn't like to go with each other. The thing is, it doesn't matter she doesn't win much, I am glad I got to watch such an enticing player like Tai. Her influence is truly undeniable
I wholeheartedly disagree; she's won many big tournaments, is a consistent factor in the top 5 of the world for many years in a row (215 weeks nr. 1, which is the longest in BWF women's singles history), won the All England multple times. I don't know who you'd consider great athletes, but e.g. Lee Chong Wei didn't win gold at the world championships or Olympic Games and he is absolutely considered being great. Even TTY admitted that she later in her career worked on her consistency, which resulted in much more major wins. Next to that, she's the ultimate ambassador for our sport; her impeccable technique, fighting spirit, sportivity and positive attitude on court (= respectful towards other players) makes her in my opinion a true icon.
No one in the entire world can match her style of play...gosh I'm gonna miss her after she retires 😭💔
