- Opening the new Yu-Gi-Oh 25th Anniversary Tin: Dueling Mirrors. This is a controversial product that the community doesn't seem too fond of, but I've purchased a few of them from my local game store to find out for myself how good or bad they really are!

Ok, so I think the reason the sticker says XYZ-Dragon Cannon has a different art is because the art on the tin is the uncensored OCG version of the art, which you can tell by the design of the canons on X-Head Cannon. Weird detail, but it is technically different
Censorship aside, I think that art is new to this set

id say they were below average, no SP no chaos angel no Imsety, the only card worth anything here is diabellestar, but even that can't save this opening

I’d rather they put a QCR Super Poly or Starving Venom Fusion Dragon. Hell even Flame Wingman would’ve been cool to get.
Hell we don’t even have playable versions of the Egyptian Gods in QCR except for Sphere Mode. Not even Monster Reborn.
If you want something that’s more competitively viable we still don’t have a QCR Underworld Goddess.

these should be 10-12 dollars.. max.. If they lowered the card pool from 400 to like.. 150 maybe then sure higher price
HIs LGS is weird. $18 for me with no tax. Another one near me was $19. (Southern California for location)
@@andrewroy9263 $21.99 is the MSRP, from what I've seen though the set is so poorly received that a lot of LGSs and other vendors are dropping the price well below that like yours. Which is sad, we don't know how much they're paying per tin but they're having to drop profit margin hard just to try and move an awful product.
3 packs in a tin? Aww hell nah, i thought it was atleast 5 or 6 packs. 3 for such random cards feels like a scam.
the last 4-5 tin have 3 pack per tin too, but the 2023 tin had 2 secret per pack insted of 1
5 would be a better number if only for how much empty space tins actually have.
The problem isnt really short printing or anything. Its just that the structure of the set now requires you to pull more packs to try and get the chase cards, which is going to bump up the price of singles since anti-consumer practices like this will only result in less people opening and selling these on the secondary market.
This is an L for vendors, and thus an L for the consumer. So yeah, its a bad product.
A loss for vendors (who are usually more correctly called scalpers) is a win for the consumer because it means you will probably only end up paying 75% of the price instead of 200+%.
Being able to actually open the product for a reasonable price is better for the consumer than something they're going to scalp.

For those wondering about XYZ Dragon Cannon at the start. On the tin it actually uses its uncensored artwork from the OCG. As in the OCG it has like actual cannons while the TCG art it has laser cannons instead!
Kinda funny the card needs to be censored still, but the Tin is fine. Would have cost them too much money to correct it.

You do realize the Japanese and English ones didn't come into existence at the same time, right?
We aren't even at the 25th yet for the TCG, meaning there's still plenty of time for them to do stuff if they want, because theoretically, it shouldn't end until 2028 as 2027 is the TCG 25th.

Scareclaw Kashtira is not a rarity upgrade because an OTS pack gave us that rarity already.

Edison / goat are gaining popularity so fast. And as a player from that era I love these rarity upgrades to old cards. Couldn’t care less about getting something from the current meta

Yes, but imo it still is a disappointing product. For the tin that was marketed as THE tin for staples, it falls short with repeat packs, and low attainability(I think 3 ppl on RUclips got sp: little knight. But, honestly, your view is the glass half full. I just think that Konami should do better with their product to actually market something as a reprint tin

They even added filler from duelist nexus lmao. They didn't even get a bump in rarity. Fire king backfire players are feasting with extra cuckoos (a common card that some shops give away if you wanna buy them) I guess lmao
Also they were more generous with digit jamming this year I see. Which is still a common for some reason.
Man this game is going downhill
Like a lot of products, this feels like two different products merged together in one. You either want the reprints from the last year and couldn't care less about the retro cards, or you're like me and only want the nostalgia bait. I feel like that ends up killing the value of like 80% of the pulls because everyone is going to be looking to get ride of half their pulls. Which makes it even harder to justify paying $22 per tin instead of buying singles.
They so wanted to do some kind of legendary box and put the Retro/retrains in it but weren’t able/allowed to make one for whatever reason which resulted in both being condensed into this one product

We all must channel that inner AVGN and ask: "What were they thinking?!"
When hearing it was 400 cards plus all the marketing around it, I assumed it was going to just translate the OCG sets of Side:Unity and Side:Pride which were explicitly anime-celebration sets of 200 cards apiece just with a handful of non-anime cards in there as well. But it isn't, it's just 400 cards for no reason. It guess for the purposes of being the annual tin it wouldn't really make sense for it to be an anime set with a ton of cards across many years but it's still just a really odd set.
Seeing it's putting random pack filler as commons instead of stuff that works with the rest of the set is weird. The set has, like, Purrely, Mannadium and Mikanko cards in it and even assuming you don't want to make cards available in multiple rarities you could include common variants of stuff like My Friend Purrely, Visas Starfrost and Mikanko Fire Dance as cards that those individual decks run, that are not in the 400 card setlist of Dueling Mirrors, and that do not currently have common printings (ignore 2 player starter set it doesn't exist). People would probably appreciate those sort of cards in the set instead of things like Sari of the Silverwing Axe or Aqua Chorus Round.
Theia is a "counter-Nibiru" card that frankly is not really that great at countering Nibiru and also doesn't really need to exist. Obviously the use is that if you play into Nibiru, you tribute the token for Theia, then pop the opponent's Nibiru, and your opponent is HARD locked to 4 summons then in your turn you turn Theia into something else.
Now that you pulled the Nemleria search spell, you should play Nemleria. 🤣
While some people can be excited for the Quarter Century anime cards(though Relinquished Anima is just a good card in general), the product as a whole is pretty much $22 for 3 shiny cards they recognize and a fistful of nothing.
They should've pushed these back into a retro product that the Yugioh Retro Games account is about... except for Link Spider.
Mega packs are just 2002-2006 yugioh random cards in one pack. Archetypes really sold the whole buying 2 or more boxes for a decklist.
These tins are so fucking bad that they could have removed all of the 150 commons and the set would still have 100 commons.
I feel like these tins are made more for people like me. People that don't or can't participate in tournaments, but just kinda like to collect the shiny nostalgic cards

My local Walmart has last year's mega tin for 15.00 dollars. So I broke down and picked one up. I also bought 3 packs of The Rarity Collection 2. This is the first time in over a year that I've purchased sealed products. I got a Quarter Century Secret Rare Utopia Promo from the Tin, and a QCSR Abyss Dweller from the Packs. So I am sad that this years Mega Tin doesn't come with a promo QCSR.

Thank you for the video. I bought three for fun because of the general sentiment around the tins’ massive card pool. I looked at it more as something cool/fun to do, at the suggestion of another creator. Opening packs of pretty looking cards can be its own reward, and I’m more a collector that dabbles in meta decks once in a while.
I am now convinced the tins can sense your intent going in because holy cow I was so rewarded. Got 9/10 of the cards I wanted most, and some very lucky rarity upgrades. Pulling the QCR Blue Eyes with the original art probably made my day more than any S:P Little Knight would’ve.
That said, ain’t no shame in the buying singles game. Hope everyone pulling from this tin has great luck and, above all, fun.

I bought two tins like I do every year, and was lucky enough to pull a couple of the rares I wanted, DMG and Red Eyes. For the most part, there wasn't too much in the tins that struck my fancy that I'll buy more of the tins, as I didn't play Snake Eyes, and I built my Illusion deck when the cards were cheap for a bit. I will probably pick up some more singles later.

they did a mistake with the art of xyz dragon, the one in the card is correct it's the gun cannon is censored, but the one in the tin is uncensored which is for OCG, the funny thing is dark magician girl is censored on the image printed on the tin, so yeah they just forgot to censor xyz dragon cannon
Well, I'm happy you got a tax write-off on this as a business expense. If nothing else, in the name of science, an autopsy, if you will, but in a world that made sense, this product in my mind has been replaced by Rarity Collection so well that it doesn't even make me remember how good tins used to be, but be grateful that Konami themselves have moved on and gave us something infintely better in almost every way. I look forward to Bonanza.
Gotta be honest this feels like it should've been 2 different products. Like, keep the design on one tin featuring anime cards for those collectors. Then maybe a design with current meta cards that has competitive cards like Snake-Eyes & Yubel.
The biggest grips i have the this years tins are the insane cardpool (400+ cards) and that EVERYTHING worthwhile is secret but also useless cards DMG and tokens.
I feel if the QCR slot was a promo outside of the pack and we got another ult or possibly another chance at a secret then these would have been better received. That being said as someone relatively new to getting back into the game I do enjoy the product and the chance of getting things I’ve missed in the last year

The old cards should've been their own product for those who want those and a seperate product for the people that want meta cards. Just 2 products at 200 each with tikens and QCRs as promos seperate from the 3 packs.
Splitting them into two products would've solved the entire problem

Problem with this set is also there is no ultra rare worth more than 0.10 cent so if you miss on the secret slot you will not even get half of the price of the tin back.
The only reason for me to get it, is because it likely has cards I don't own and a lot of them.
So, Paul spent like $88 and was only interested in getting Snow Devil which is like a $1card.... Poor wallet.
While part of me is happy to see a lot of out of print cards being reprinted, a lot of these are extremely unnecessary and a 400 card pool is way too much.
There's only a few cards I really want in this set (dark corridor, cosmic blazar dragon, accel synchro stardust dragon, the synchrons and chimera cards) and I see no point in buying a tin aside from supporting my favourite card shops.
Instead of having everything shoved in a needlessly bloated set, what they should've done was release 2 or 3 different tins with 100 card pools themed around GOAT/EDISON, Meta and/or other themes.

I understand why most rarities don’t change for cards because it allows people to complete their playset with cheaper copies especially when it comes to rogue/lower tier decks. Because who’s really paying out $60 for a playset of Revolution Synchron especially if you just want to complete the deck and play on a casual level.
It's impressive that they managed to have SO MANY cards and still avoid somehow every single archetype I care about! I was honestly looking forward to the tin, I've been getting into physical Yu-Gi-Oh a bit this year after mostly playing master duel and the tins are pretty and cool... then I saw the set list and man... it's rough.
Quick note, dis pater wasn't a super, it was a fairly expensive ultra.

As a nostalgic player I just want to collect the og cards. I don't want to collect winged Kuriboh and stuff. And also, as a set collector, these tins provide absolutely no value at all
Im gonna be 100% here- I don't care about the tins, not because I think the rarities are bad, but because I'm over the 25th anniversary stuff. I desperately want them to get back to the Branded and Visas storylines in the main sets and back to high rarities that are actually difficult/exciting to pull. QCR went from discount Starlight to basically just secret rare but uglier.
I shall be honest, i always look forward to the tins each year, so yeah, i don’t care if the tins are good or bad, since to me, who hasn’t got much to spend, it’s always a treat to open one, so no matter if i can’t afford booster boxes, these tins are my greatest joy to open. So i open two or three tins a year, so thank you for opening them good sir!

Once I saw YugiohCardMarket's stats comparing the pull rates of the 2019 tin to the 2024 tin, yeah it seems very bad 😢
While I DID want cards like Snake Eyes, and Horus, SP Little Knight, Thrust, they are still extremely pricey and insanely hard to pull. This product is so bad I don't even want to buy singles.
I feel like there's 1 card that people will give a pass with this tin. For Paul, it was Vanquish Soul Snow Devil. I'd give my pass to OCR Salamangreat Gazelle because it looks pretty sick. That said, I don't know if we needed a 400 card tin just for that!

I don't mind if anime or older format cards have QCR, but they could have left it to a specific product for that. In an tin people are expecting reprints of newer cards.
Likely the quarter century anniversary will last through 2027 to cover the TCG quarter century as well.

Over here where I live these tins are mega worth considering that 1 tin is the same price as like 3-4 packs of any other normal set, I'd rather have 3 qcr, secrets and ultras over MAYBE 1 secret if lucky

I pulled the QCR DMG from my 3 tins and I still think they are pretty ass. The fact that out of 9 QCR pulls I managed to get 2 duplicates out of 36? feels off. I basically got 1 good decent per tin which I guess is decent enough, but overall there really is just TOO much garbage.
Looking forward to grabbing 24-36 loose mega packs for far cheaper early-mid next year.
Edit: also the fact that there is video evidence of 1:1 pack mapping in RUclipsr case openings is absolutely disgraceful and just shows how packs aren’t 100% random at all as they SHOULD be.
I think the competitive people are more upset than anyone. I just like pulling cards nowadays.
I bought two cases and I was happy with my pulls. Didn't get everything I wanted but what I got was pretty good. Can be used to trade to get what I want. But getting the alt arts for Raigeki, Harpies and limit removal was pretty neat.
I'd wager that there's 2 versions of xyz dragon cannon that you could get in the tin. The original art and the alternative art, hence the sticker.
The tin uses the uncensored OCG artwork, the card uses the censored TCG artwork.
The tin uses real guns. The card uses the nerf gun art. That's the difference. Give me Darklord cards in higher rarity, man. So annoying to have all the same shit in every pack lol

Scatter Fusion was in last years tins as a UR as well.
I know this is not the most common thing, but I bought 3 tins just for fun and got crazy pulls. I got an S:P, dark magician girl QC, a token and a Typhoon plus a couple of rarity bumps. If you buy the tins just for the rarity bumps in my opinion they are worth it. If you expect to get a specific card from them just buy the singles I’ve seen many staples price drop due to this reprints
Pretty underwhelming packaging, I think we can all agree on that...
Most if not all of the commons here are just reprints of commons from other sets. That's the main thing driving me away from getting some of these tins, usually yugioh packs are just skipping to the foil slots, but you at least get some new commons along the way. These aren't even new, they're just bulk from past sets with a different set code

The cards in the UK packs are laid out differently. The first few are commons, then all the ultras, then the secret, then the QCR then the rest of the commons. Wonder why?

I don't think anyone will make their money back on these tins. That being said; you got some genuinely good cards pulled in this video. Because of that; I did realise that this tin can be great for young fans of yugioh. Who do kind-of understand the decks. Their parents buy the tins. The kids don't understand the finances; they just get the enjoyment of perhaps getting a genuinely good pull
The price is a bit high. I agree the tin itself is great looking, however, with this price I feel like it has to be 3x packs and 1x promo card.

I did pulls with my some of my friends last night and they were awesome. I pulled a wanted and my friend pulled a dragion and diablellestar. I know some people have had clumping issues, but I think it’s a fine product if you ignore that glaring issue. My only complaint is that the qcr slot is really bad and I would rather get an extra secret rare instead
