The "someone else might enjoy this" feeling is a big part of what's driven me away from sealed product over the years. I want to open things that feel good to me, not things I have to try and justify the existence of while staring blankly at them later that day.
My local Walmart has last year's mega tin for 15.00 dollars. So I broke down and picked one up. I also bought 3 packs of The Rarity Collection 2. This is the first time in over a year that I've purchased sealed products. I got a Quarter Century Secret Rare Utopia Promo from the Tin, and a QCSR Abyss Dweller from the Packs. So I am sad that this years Mega Tin doesn't come with a promo QCSR.
Thank you for the video. I bought three for fun because of the general sentiment around the tins’ massive card pool. I looked at it more as something cool/fun to do, at the suggestion of another creator. Opening packs of pretty looking cards can be its own reward, and I’m more a collector that dabbles in meta decks once in a while. I am now convinced the tins can sense your intent going in because holy cow I was so rewarded. Got 9/10 of the cards I wanted most, and some very lucky rarity upgrades. Pulling the QCR Blue Eyes with the original art probably made my day more than any S:P Little Knight would’ve. That said, ain’t no shame in the buying singles game. Hope everyone pulling from this tin has great luck and, above all, fun.
they did a mistake with the art of xyz dragon, the one in the card is correct it's the gun cannon is censored, but the one in the tin is uncensored which is for OCG, the funny thing is dark magician girl is censored on the image printed on the tin, so yeah they just forgot to censor xyz dragon cannon
I feel if the QCR slot was a promo outside of the pack and we got another ult or possibly another chance at a secret then these would have been better received. That being said as someone relatively new to getting back into the game I do enjoy the product and the chance of getting things I’ve missed in the last year
While I DID want cards like Snake Eyes, and Horus, SP Little Knight, Thrust, they are still extremely pricey and insanely hard to pull. This product is so bad I don't even want to buy singles.
Gotta be honest this feels like it should've been 2 different products. Like, keep the design on one tin featuring anime cards for those collectors. Then maybe a design with current meta cards that has competitive cards like Snake-Eyes & Yubel.
I bought two tins like I do every year, and was lucky enough to pull a couple of the rares I wanted, DMG and Red Eyes. For the most part, there wasn't too much in the tins that struck my fancy that I'll buy more of the tins, as I didn't play Snake Eyes, and I built my Illusion deck when the cards were cheap for a bit. I will probably pick up some more singles later.
The biggest grips i have the this years tins are the insane cardpool (400+ cards) and that EVERYTHING worthwhile is secret but also useless cards DMG and tokens.
Because those are the cards that collectors who actually go after high rarity cards want. Collectors dont care about high rarities of meta cards that will become forgotten about in a couple of years. The "useless" tokens and new artwork of dmg will be something collectors will still want for their collections 5 or 10 or more years in the future.
While some people can be excited for the Quarter Century anime cards(though Relinquished Anima is just a good card in general), the product as a whole is pretty much $22 for 3 shiny cards they recognize and a fistful of nothing. They should've pushed these back into a retro product that the Yugioh Retro Games account is about... except for Link Spider.
I used to collect and trade them when I was younger in elementary. I am now 25 and bought a 25th anniversary pack from Walmart (it has 3 Mega Packs). Had a bunch of fun opening them and I knew where I live and without a car I would be alone. I thought on the app I could put the code in and use them. It's ok that I can't; but I think since I never played it before, I will learn to play it on MD and use my deck and/or buy more packs to build it better and play some in-person games if I find some players close by!
3:22 Looks like the art on the tin is that of the OCG. Notice the actual canon barrels on the top of the monster on the tine art. The card has the fantasy blasters ('censored' TCG version, of course)
I understand tokens, Blue eyes, DMG, and Exodia pieces cause last tin had only head. But literaly all other 42 QCRs have no place inthere... And these 8 named could indeed just be promos outside packs...
this tin seems so weird q: the 2023 tin was pretty dope, after buying a few i had pretty much all the cards id need for very specific decks, dinos, labrynth, blackwing, runik and so on. the og cards seem cool but overall a more focused box that would lead to some of the new modern decks would have been nicer. think ill be passing on this one sadly
EDIT: Is the BGM at 12:10 a remix of ARC-V OP 3? Is there a name for this version? The dragon cannon art on the card is censored, yet the tin is the original uncensored art. As for the set list for this tin.. They could have easily put the oldschool cards and the Token in a separate promo pack like they did last year's tin. They're missing some rarity upgrades, like the new Abyss Actors.. I was really looking forward to blinging them out.
I don't mind if anime or older format cards have QCR, but they could have left it to a specific product for that. In an tin people are expecting reprints of newer cards.
The only reason I would buy this tin would be for Dark Magician Girl, Blue Eyes White Dragon, and the exodia pieces. But I’m having a tough time making a decision to get this tin because of all these other cards I’m not really a fan of nowadays.
Well, I'm happy you got a tax write-off on this as a business expense. If nothing else, in the name of science, an autopsy, if you will, but in a world that made sense, this product in my mind has been replaced by Rarity Collection so well that it doesn't even make me remember how good tins used to be, but be grateful that Konami themselves have moved on and gave us something infintely better in almost every way. I look forward to Bonanza.
I like the anime centered QCRs, helped me get back into physical cards honestly, but then pulling QCR red gadget was just like "I mean... okay sure" I do wish they were more focused like this would have felt better if it was more focused on the earlier sets and new supports and just stretch out the 25th anniversary for different sets and series. I got one of last years and this years tins, the last one was similarly disjointed but felt a bit better pulling.
The art of XYZ Dragon Cannon is slightly different as it's the censored TCG version. The art on the tins is the Lost Art/OCG version EDIT: other's appear to have mentioned that already, so I'll just say that the only QCR I'd be at all interested in is Light Stage, and that's due to me being a Trickstar player
I understand why most rarities don’t change for cards because it allows people to complete their playset with cheaper copies especially when it comes to rogue/lower tier decks. Because who’s really paying out $60 for a playset of Revolution Synchron especially if you just want to complete the deck and play on a casual level.
I'll take that Link Spider if you don't want it!!! It's good for my Vaalmonica deck after I get Nibd, now I can link off and have an effect monster to link into my Vaalmonica Link!!
Problem with this set is also there is no ultra rare worth more than 0.10 cent so if you miss on the secret slot you will not even get half of the price of the tin back.
I went with the same ammount of tins as you did Paul (my OTS was trying to get me to buy a case for 170 but i opted for 4 tins at $17 a piece); and out of the 4 tins i pulled 1 Qcsr Blue Eyes (wasnt excited for soo many anime reprints either but still BEWDs always a fun pull), 2 of the exodia qcsr, 1 chaos angel, 1 s:p little knight, 1 ty-phon, and some other decent pulls (no imsety though, sadface, but overall i think i did okay)
Me and my friends were thinking of getting one or two cases like we always do but skipping this one, I'll just buy the singles that I need after seeing the openings
I bought two cases and I was happy with my pulls. Didn't get everything I wanted but what I got was pretty good. Can be used to trade to get what I want. But getting the alt arts for Raigeki, Harpies and limit removal was pretty neat.
It's impressive that they managed to have SO MANY cards and still avoid somehow every single archetype I care about! I was honestly looking forward to the tin, I've been getting into physical Yu-Gi-Oh a bit this year after mostly playing master duel and the tins are pretty and cool... then I saw the set list and man... it's rough.
As someone who bought a case. I can definitely confirm that it was not worth it at all. Almost all were qcrs were the same being yubel, black winged dragon, or a gadet (red or yellow. Not even green)
I pulled the QCR DMG from my 3 tins and I still think they are pretty ass. The fact that out of 9 QCR pulls I managed to get 2 duplicates out of 36? feels off. I basically got 1 good decent per tin which I guess is decent enough, but overall there really is just TOO much garbage. Looking forward to grabbing 24-36 loose mega packs for far cheaper early-mid next year. Edit: also the fact that there is video evidence of 1:1 pack mapping in RUclipsr case openings is absolutely disgraceful and just shows how packs aren’t 100% random at all as they SHOULD be.
Might be a bit late but was able to pick a couple of tins from my local card shop yesterday for £12 each ( $16) (Tuesday) and honestly I was hoping to get the HERO cards out of them since I am a huge HERO player. However in my 1st tin second pack I pulled the Blue-Eyes White Dragon which was a surprise and for a £30 card I made profit on that tin alone. My friends was shocked when I pulled it. I also pulled a Wanted! which was cool as I needed it for a Fire deck I built. Overall I think the tins are I'd say 6 out of 10 as a product but could've been more meta defining cards SP, and had a smaller QCR pool but again I like the design of the tin itself choice of cards could have been better but alright for the price I guess.

Not that anybody is playing Link Spider anymore, it was overdue for a reprint as it had not been printed since 2018.
they did a mistake with the art of xyz dragon, the one in the card is correct it's the gun cannon is censored, but the one in the tin is uncensored which is for OCG, the funny thing is dark magician girl is censored on the image printed on the tin, so yeah they just forgot to censor xyz dragon cannon
The format for the Megatins and rarity collection should be combined.
I feel if the QCR slot was a promo outside of the pack and we got another ult or possibly another chance at a secret then these would have been better received. That being said as someone relatively new to getting back into the game I do enjoy the product and the chance of getting things I’ve missed in the last year
Emergency was a common in duelist nexus lol
Okay right! I was thinking of Alert! So this is a good upgrade!
the link spider had me howling
18:13 epic link spider playback
I bought two tins and the fact that to tokens take the place one of your secret rares is ridiculous
While I DID want cards like Snake Eyes, and Horus, SP Little Knight, Thrust, they are still extremely pricey and insanely hard to pull. This product is so bad I don't even want to buy singles.
Can’t wait for a secret rare token and a qcr red gadget I didn’t ask for. Singles all the way.
In Canada paid $30 for one, kept telling myself I'll pull a token what do you know i pulled a token
I hate it when Konami doesn’t follow the theme of their Tin . Have yugi and kaiba but hardly any cards they use .
It would be great if the tins could be deck boxes with packs inside. Less real-estate taken up for shipping and more utility of actual product.
Cannot be lagging. They be like that
These tins are so fucking bad that they could have removed all of the 150 commons and the set would still have 100 commons.
Now that you pulled the Nemleria search spell, you should play Nemleria. 🤣
It kinda feels like Konami gave us a second chance to pull the cards we wanted, but threw in a lot of randomized cards to fill the dead space.
I need monarch qcr konami always forgets this archetype
I used to collect and trade them when I was younger in elementary. I am now 25 and bought a 25th anniversary pack from Walmart (it has 3 Mega Packs). Had a bunch of fun opening them and I knew where I live and without a car I would be alone. I thought on the app I could put the code in and use them. It's ok that I can't; but I think since I never played it before, I will learn to play it on MD and use my deck and/or buy more packs to build it better and play some in-person games if I find some players close by!
XYZ- dragon cannon is uncensored in the side of the tin
3:22 Looks like the art on the tin is that of the OCG. Notice the actual canon barrels on the top of the monster on the tine art. The card has the fantasy blasters ('censored' TCG version, of course)
Scareclaw Kashtira is not a rarity upgrade because an OTS pack gave us that rarity already.
Mega packs are just 2002-2006 yugioh random cards in one pack. Archetypes really sold the whole buying 2 or more boxes for a decklist.
to be fair i cant wait to buy a few QCR pankratops for like $2-3 a copy
The 25th anniversary reminds me of the New Orleans Tricentennial here where i live that started in like 2018 and lasted 3 years.
Once I saw YugiohCardMarket's stats comparing the pull rates of the 2019 tin to the 2024 tin, yeah it seems very bad 😢
I almost spent $15 on one of these the other day at wally world. I denied myself the privilege of a minutes worth of dopamine
Ygo has fallen off
(All those QCR, +tokens could
have been in a Promo pack)
I understand tokens, Blue eyes, DMG, and Exodia pieces cause last tin had only head. But literaly all other 42 QCRs have no place inthere... And these 8 named could indeed just be promos outside packs...
400 cards in this set is ridiculous
i got a 25th anniversary dark magician girl that's worth 13 bucks. lucky me
this tin seems so weird q: the 2023 tin was pretty dope, after buying a few i had pretty much all the cards id need for very specific decks, dinos, labrynth, blackwing, runik and so on. the og cards seem cool but overall a more focused box that would lead to some of the new modern decks would have been nicer. think ill be passing on this one sadly
also seeing digit jammer in here is super disapointing, i think i have probably 20 of them from the last tin, why include that again?
My favorite Yu-Gi-Oh card is the Dark MAGICIAN girl
EDIT: Is the BGM at 12:10 a remix of ARC-V OP 3? Is there a name for this version?
The dragon cannon art on the card is censored, yet the tin is the original uncensored art.
As for the set list for this tin.. They could have easily put the oldschool cards and the Token in a separate promo pack like they did last year's tin. They're missing some rarity upgrades, like the new Abyss Actors.. I was really looking forward to blinging them out.
There are too many trash cards that shouldn't have rarity upgrades, honestly this set is just rarity collection 2 in disguise 😂😂😂😂
I don't mind if anime or older format cards have QCR, but they could have left it to a specific product for that. In an tin people are expecting reprints of newer cards.
Didn't even know scareclaw kashtira was ultra in this set. Just bought a playset of it to bling out my scareclaw kashtira deck a bit
The only reason I would buy this tin would be for Dark Magician Girl, Blue Eyes White Dragon, and the exodia pieces. But I’m having a tough time making a decision to get this tin because of all these other cards I’m not really a fan of nowadays.
Honestly as cool as some as those cards are…. I think I’ll stick with buying singles on TCGPlayer. But I might buy one just for the tin alone
Not getting any Tokens is a relief😅
Well, I'm happy you got a tax write-off on this as a business expense. If nothing else, in the name of science, an autopsy, if you will, but in a world that made sense, this product in my mind has been replaced by Rarity Collection so well that it doesn't even make me remember how good tins used to be, but be grateful that Konami themselves have moved on and gave us something infintely better in almost every way. I look forward to Bonanza.
I’ll get two tins just to have them. But the pack art is so plain it’s crazy
Yugioh tcg was released in 1999 in japan. So technically the 25th anniversary started early and we're just still in it.
I just wanted shiny ninjas but Konami said "no, have Cassimolar upgrade"
The art of XYZ Dragon Cannon is slightly different as it's the censored TCG version. The art on the tins is the Lost Art/OCG version
EDIT: other's appear to have mentioned that already, so I'll just say that the only QCR I'd be at all interested in is Light Stage, and that's due to me being a Trickstar player
3:25 from looks of it it's uncensored version on the tin. Focus you attention on x-head cannon's...cannons.
Okay I see the difference now! Had me lost there lol
The only reason for me to get it, is because it likely has cards I don't own and a lot of them.
I run it in Mokey Mokey
I noticed the XYZ Dragon Cannon sticker and that it was the same art too lol
I was actually excited about the gadgets XD. Just picked up a play set of all 3.
XYZ Dragon Cannon on tin is uncensored
Ahhh okay! I was really confused! 🤣
18:16 I can feel the frustration through the screen lol. Definitely not a tin for me personally.
The only time i buy the boxes like this is when they get discounted, i have a ton of the mega pack 24s since my walmart cut the. To 15 bucks a box
EMERGENCY was actually released later as a common in duelist nexus
After listening to your podcast on my way to work, i really laughed out hard the moment you pulled the link spider lol
There are so many cards in here that I ask, “Why?” 🤣
