  • Hii! I thought I'd film a very popular video, that most disabled content creators make, and talk about whether I'd like to have my disability cured if it was possible. Let me know what you think about it!
I hope you like it and if you have any suggestions of what types of videos you’d like to see on my channel, please comment below!

i have a variety of different disabilities. physical: hypermobility syndrome. mental illnesses: anxiety, depression, etc. general bad mental health. neurodevelopmental: autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. some of these i would like to cure and some i would not.
i would love to cure my hypermobility syndrome because all it does is gives me pain and makes me tired, likewise with my mental illnesses. i wouldnt want to cure my autism or ADHD because i believe they are intertwined with my personality and they give me some pretty cool abilities along with some ways that i struggle, mostly because of the neurotypical-oriented world. if i got rid of my ASD and ADHD i wouldnt be able to hyperfixate, which allows me to have really intense periods of learning about something that my brain latches onto for a few weeks. i think a lot of my skills come from hyperfixating. i also think i would have less of a deep understanding of how peoples brains are all different. i think the world benefits from neurodivergent people's ways of doing things and looking at things.

Thanks for sharing! You're definitely right and I'm so glad to see the point of view of someone who's neurodivergent. It's so important that we all share our experiences as no two people, even with the same disability, experience it in the same way and everyone can bring so much to the discussion.

well, it may be pretty boring but it gives you more abilities than I have so I'd just like to know how it feels and see how many new things I would be able to do with my wrists not being curved/fixed in one position 😅
