I personally think that "Vampire: The Masquerade" came out at just the perfect time, when the pendulum of interest in Vampires (and all 'Things That Go Bump In The Night") was just reaching its peak again, thanks in large part to the works of Anne Rice.
Playing it (and some of the other associated games) will always be a fond part of my college memories, even if my group did play it as more of a "Bull and Giggles" game than deep Role Playing ^_^

School gets ragged on so much by people at these sorts of talks. Educational theory and practice has evolved in the past 30 years or so to incorporate many elements of games and learning beyond just "sitting there and being quiet and answering questions when told".

Truedead, have them watch this video then, hope it helps. Also, switch out the kind of games you are playing and talk to them about why you are playing them, show them what you are learning from them.
