    Lyrics
    We speak, we speak to the air, we scream. We run, we climb, but we cannot seem to find the meaning in the monster. Forever I question the gods. If all the blood in my veins is put to waste, I just wanna know. I blotted out the sun while covering the pain. I couldn’t wait. And we all really wanna stay inside of the glow. But we’ll be alone forever trying to explain all the dark. We sink to the bottom of the earth, underneath what seems indomitable. Save me. If all the blood in my veins is put to waste, I just wanna know. I traveled through the sky to find who pulls the strings. Who is to blame? We all really wanna stay inside of the known. But we’ll be alone forever trying to explain all the dark. In the wake of the plagues and the flood. Does justice exist for the low? A place where equity stands, and never departs. Forever I question the gods. And if amends were never to come, were we so misguided to hope? Were we so wrong to seek peace and not war? Forever I question the gods. Stay close to me. It’s in those moments I feet free. I just need a little sun to breathe.

    Forever you question the gods? What exactly do you mean, im curious of the meaning of this song. I thought they were a Christian band. Biblically lower case g gods do exist so this isnt a knock on the band or song, i think its really good! Generally curious about the meaning tho sense its not exalting the most high while speaking on other gods

    • @urilevy1
      @urilevy1 3 года назад +1

      I think that speaking about multiple gods is just a form of speech. Also, in the first book, in the creation of man, it says “we will make the man (Adam) in our shape”
      As in plural.
      Sometimes the angels, as forces of god, are referred to as “Gods”.
      Also, one of the most important Hebrew names foe god is “Elohim”, which means “many Eloha”, El, or Eloah, means a God. Elohim or Elim means “gods”.
      This probably refers to God as the one who controls all the forces (as he is referred to in the Kabbalah).
      Or maybe, if he’s christian, as you say, maybe he refers to god as gods in this catholic manner of having faith in the so called “holy trinity”. Which is also an option.

      Jeremy, from my knowledge of the band and their lyrics (I by no means claim to be an expert) biblically lower case gods means anything that people revere or worship. Giving something power over you is giving it a godly status.
      To that regard, Fallstar has always been very transparent that they (and we) should question anything we give this status to and see if it is worthwhile to do so. We must look at ourselves and see if the choices that we make bring life to others, or death. There is only one true light in the dark, are we reflecting it?

    • @ByTheirFruits603

      @@wickedwitt04 hey brother thank you for your reply. Biblically speaking lower case g gods are legitimate beings, not whatever we decide to give power too, idols would be the correct terms for inanimate objects we "give power too" but the bible says behind idols are demons. Idk what his lyrics mean in context but i just was questioning it in the first place because im sick and tired of the demonic new age and other non biblical christianity thats being pushed through some of the self proclaimed "christian" bands. Its so important to be saturated in sound biblical doctrine..especially in music that influences the masses. Do you know what i mean? Whether or not they like it or dont see it but Christian bands are indeed influencing the minds of their fans and if its not correct doctrine they will have blood on their hands when they stand infront of the creator one day.

      @@ByTheirFruits603 Poets (lyricist) are artists and language is their medium. They paint pictures with words, and as such the entire context of the word in question should be considered to properly understand it's meaning. The examiner would then need to study not only the history of the language (as you noted by referencing the Bible), but also the author, the audience, and the time period. We don't necessarily expect C.S. Lewis to write the same as Moses because they are different writers writting to different audiences at different times about different topics (generally).
      Also consider that language changes over time. For example the word "gay" means something different to most people now than it did a mere generation ago.
      I would also guess that he is using the word "gods" poetically in place of the word "idol". Perhaps this is because he feels that the word idol has lost its linguistics power in the 21st century, or because he feels that using the word "gods" better provokes the idea that he is trying express.
