    A trip out with the camera team filming the latest members video gives us a brilliant opportunity to try an aggressive tactic.

    The greatest exponent of big ball feeding was undoubtably the late great, Ivan Marks. I had the privilege of fishing and being in the company of Ivan, many, many times. And I never saw anyone who could match his distance and accuracy at feeding big balls at distance. He did have a secret though that he admitted to me. And that was whenever he was being watched (which was most of the time). He would wait a little bit longer before firing out the next ball. That gave the impression that all the balls were flying down the same hole. But in truth it was an optical illusion because by waiting that few seconds longer, the splash rings from the previous ball had got substantially bigger. And as long as the next ball fell into those rings it looked like it had gone down the same hole, lol. But even so, he was still head and shoulders above anyone else.

    Lovely video lads, nice to see you fishing a canal in such a beautiful location and using two baits that I don't often see used down my way now in bloodworm and joker as the only place that you could use them near me was on the river roding at bow in east London which has not been fished since the early 90's. Your video brought back many fond memories for me

      Glad to hear it Stephen. It was once a mega popular technique!

      @@theedge8815 your right about that, back in the 80's and early 90's 70 percent of the anglers I knew fished with joker and bloodworm and I knew alot of anglers back then through my local tackle shop

    Haven't a clue how you'd get hundreds of angler's vans parked up round there, looks like there's barely room for a dozen by that bridge.

      Parking was always a problem, but somehow we all managed it! 🤣

    what was the cost of all that bloodworm and joker ?

    • @theedge8815
      @theedge8815  7 месяцев назад

      Around £15 for that bait.
      And it keeps easily if you don’t use it.

    How many top notch anglers have a house with a river at the bottom of the garden????

      Probably less then 10-15 in all fairness across the country

      One of the best ways to start a swim! In Europe it’s used nearly every match.
