My husband would set me up to fail to meet his unspoken expectations to nurture his resentments and then justify his deception and acting out. It's hard to understate how cruel an addict can be in order to maintain their addiction. Now that I've finally said, "enough," I must work every day to not let resentment creep into my heart. As St. Augustine said, "Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die."

Oh yes, resentment. Sounds familiar to me.
I've finally gotten there thanks to my lying, selfish husband.
    And, guess what?
This resentment does me damn good!
Resentment is currently my power weapon to finally heal from his betrayal.
