Art is how its perceived by the general public, so just because they think that artist is talented doesnt mean that the world will think that. so after they spend all this money, they will make a loss if the artist doesnt make it. Now tell me, would you put your money on the line ? coz that is how it works, overall, record labels have portflios, some make money some dont, so they rip everyone off to make an overall profit
