    Got lucky and picked up an unfired Rossi M-92 Stainless octagonal barrel in .44 mag for $800 AUD. first time running it it sent the spent casing at mach jesus out the top but also flung out the new round. took her apart, cleaned it and then every rack it popped the ejector out and into the action, one final disassembly and filed and hammered straight the hook on the bolt that the ejector links into and has not missed a beat since, slapped some skinner sights on that bad boy and she's dead accurate. Feral Goats watch out.

    I have a Rossi M-92 Saddle ring carbine in 357 Mag, and a Rossi M-92 Octagon barrel rifle in 45 Colt. Both run great, were used in Cowboy Action shooting for years, and never had a problem. Accurate, reliable and I'd never get rid of it.

    I LOVE my R92 16" .45 Colt with krome finish. It's beautiful and accurate, has very manageable recoil, and tons of fun to shoot.

    I’ve got a blued octagon barrel m92 Rossi rifle in 45 colt. It’s worked fine for me. Although I haven’t shot it a lot.

    I have 3 M92's, all bought for less than 800 bucks and after shooting my friends rifles, Winchester, Marlin and Browning BLR's all at twice the price the Rossi is my pick. By the way, Steve's Gunz has a plug or a peep sight to replace the federally mandated safety on the rear of the bolt, all my rifles have one installed. The half cock notch works for me and yes, they are worth every penny.

    My longer R92 super smooth and accurate, my short carbine tactical R92 worked well with a red dot, bit you would to replace a taller front sight to get the peep to work, shot to high out of the box.

    I have the 24" octagon barreled version in 44 mag. The first one I got had issues so it went back to
    Rossi during the pandemic twice and it took forever but they ended up sending me a new one that seems to work well. I have the 357 magnum 20" version on the way that is supposed to be here this Tuesday so I'm crossing my fingers that it will be good. All in all I believe they are decent rifles for the money.

    I got a Rossi 92 .44 mag in nov. 2023 and I took it out to shoot and noticed the front sight and rear sight were not in line. Turns out the dovetail cuts were not cut on the same plane. I called Rossi and they agreed that it was a manufacturing defect and agreed to fix it. (Replace the barrel maybe)Turns out they don’t fix R92’s anymore. They referred me to Their parent company, Heritage mfg. to replace it with their version of the R92 the“92 black”. That was 6 weeks ago and I have to pay FFL fee for a gun dealer in my town to receive it for me. No more Rossi products for me.

    I have the Rossi 92 in .357 Mag. It's the 16" saddle ring carbine in blue finish. I don't like the stainless on a levergun, it just doesn't look right to me. It did need some work smoothing out the internals but that was easy to do. I also cut the magazine spring down and installed a stainless magazine follower so now it holds 9 rounds in the tube and I deleted the silly safety with a plug also easily done. No gunsmith is needed for any of this. Even though I wanted one in .45 Colt, my LGS only carried them in .357 and I kind of talked myself into it. Yes, I cut my finger on the loading port but that's also easy to dull the edges on. If you get one, make sure to use RNFP bullets. They are well worth the little bit of work they need.

      RNFP? Round Nose Flat Point🤔

      Mine didn't cycle .38 spl. well but .357 did .. Round nose 158 grn. worked the best .. Had to get my Smith to work out these issues and polish sharp edges .. be well .

    • @paulkopacz5051
      @paulkopacz5051 2 месяца назад

      @@guaporeturns9472 Yes and the reason for that is the flat point clears the elevator "Ledge" whereas the Round Nose get's jammed on it and your carbine is locked up and you either disassemble the gun or try to force the cartridge back out the loading gate. I have had to do both with .357. I'm not sure if the shorter .38 Special would be short enough to clear the ledge with RN but it's possible. I just handload RNFP everything now.

    Ive made quite a few videos using my Rossi. Havent heard anyone complain about them, as long as they have experience with them.
    Issue I have had with mine is loading issues. Magazine follower gets caught somewhere in the tube for some reason while loading and stops me from loading in the next round. Easy work around though.

      I think target suite had one whose bore was pretty oversized and it was costing him velocity over another brand. I think it turned out that’s just the way they make them. Minor annoyance but I’d still buy one for the right price

      The magazine tube has a straight cut face in the receiver and if you try to push the rounds straight in the edge can catch the mouth of the round and stop. I pulled mine down and just sanded and polished the end of the magazine tube, problem solved. Before that I would load the first cartridge halfway and then push it fully in with the next round leaving that one just outside the gate and so on with the last one being the only round pushed in fully. I believe with the pressure from your thumb offsets the case a little and it catches the sharp edge of the tube, pushing the rounds with a following one relieves the thrust involved and they load smoothly. Figured that out by single loading the rounds fully with my thumb at the top of the rim pushing the tip down as it entered the tube, no problems. After polishing the mouth of the tube and loading gate, no problems ever.

    I don't have a issue with rossi my problem is nearly every single time I've handled there 22 pump actions like the ones with philips head screws in the receiver. To me they feel like if you handled them to rough like if your trying to shoot fast and accurate your bound to snap something. But on the other hand i like there lever guns.

    Seen more 73's jam than anything else.
    People poo poo them cause they try to run pissy 38/357 for cas,which the actions were never made for.
    Have an early one in 45 colt. Runs semi wadcutters, with a good crimp.
    A strip and slick isnt hard, lap the lugs,springs at home depot.
    You want a workhorse or bling toy.
    50k rounds later,action cleaning is stock off and brake cleaner...
    The crunchyness in the action is the ejector spring,and lifter spring,so you lighten it.
    And the safety? Is cause of the " Im a moron american so I will sue yor ass as I shot myself in the foot"

    A couple of questions....so you think Rossi will ever make a rifle around the 1886 action?
    And, will they make a rifle like a customer wants?
    For instance, i want their 45-70, but with a 24 inch barrel and in staimless.

    I read very bad things about the henry levers and know the remlins were bad. Maybe years ago some Rossi guns did need some minor gun smithing to get going. It would be good if the new ones are as good as you say.

  • @Courier-Six
    @Courier-Six День назад

    The issue with Rossi isn't so much their quality as it is their quality control. Every gun manufacturer has good and bad rifles. I had a .357 Mag Rossi 92 Stainless, and it worked Flawlessly if you fed ammo the correct length through it. It didn't like .38 Special Ammo with Semi-Wad-Cutter bullets, but big deal. But the fact that I had a Rossi 92 in 45 Colt that didn't even make it to the range before have a critical parts failure after taking it apart for cleaning and function testing it, then spending 8 months before they offered me a refund or replacement waiting in parts without giving me any updates, that is what broke me. It is a budget gun, I understand there will be defects or flaws. But when Customer Service is that bad, I will never shop Rossi or Taurus products again. I shouldn't have to be without my gun for longer than I owned it to get a repair

    Thing with Rossi is , you have work done to them from the start . Have a gunsmith that knows what all need done then . It will work the way it should. Do not bother send it to the factory. You wasted your time.

    I got the Rossi 92 and 45 caliber Long Colt One thing about it is I wanted something that I can pack with the same ammo as my revolver and on top of that I wanted something if I'm out there doing something in the woods and I don't really want to carry full size rifle I can carry my 16-in carbine Rossi with 10 rounds to 12 shot magazine that it has yes it holds 10 shots to 12 I guess it's because of the spring it's in it with a 255 grain bullet it'll knock down anything it gets in my way same as my revolver and I don't have to carry a heavy rifle in thick heavy cover to do anything I can get into some deep wooded areas with that short rifle I can hunker down and wait for anything to anything to come by with a long barrel I would have to walk around and make all kinds of noise if I'm in a camping situation I have something that is small and compact that I can carry and I don't have to worry about anything I'm getting a holster made for it made like a mule's leg but it's for a Rossi 92 with a 16-in barrel with a bandolero holster that I can carry quite a bit of ammunition that I need to carry and it's the same ammunition for my revolver I don't have to worry about anything too much Open sites it has long range capability with that 16-in barrel and you know that you got a rifle and that will help you to defend your home behind corners and if somebody standing there you can open them up with that liver gun like shooting an AR-15 The tactical guns that you've just showed on there was not made for that rifle to be a tactical done mine looks like the rifleman Chuck O'Connor's rifle with a 16-in barrel it's fast to shoot and accurate and like I said with a 255 grain bullet it'll knock anything down on it's butt it's like having a Canon in your hand light recoil and very fun to shoot and it's a compact rifle that you can do whatever you need to do with and it's very affordable rifle if people would be smart they would get one because it's more of a lifesaver than not having one it's just the way these times are it's a rifle as a survival rifle with ammunition so high you can go in and buy 45 loan colts cheaper than you can buy anything else you got on the market and you can buy 45 caliber carnicle bullets for muzzleloading supplies and you can put them inside of the shell casings to fire the same rounds that you're putting into the 45 caliber Kentucky long rifle projectiles that's the cool part you can do what you need to do with a 45 caliber Rossi more than you can do with any other gun from 357 Magnum cartridge to a 357 Magnum revolver carry the same manual rounds for both guns you have something that people will fear when you're out in the woods it's something to look forward to and it's a survival rifle for your house for your car for your camper and for your boat it's small and compact to hide in anywhere it needs to hide that you can put it but it'd be in a place where you can get your hands on it quick and fast and you can lay down the wall with it between 10 to 12 shot round magazine you can really do some serious damage to anything in a short period of time
