Unreal Tournament 2004 Multiplayer In 2023 My first ever go at this game, and hopefully more to come on this too! #UT2004 #UnrealTournament #UnrealTournament2004
Can't believe the game I worked on so long back is still being played somewhere. I was the artist that designed, modeled, and textured the UT2K4 Onslaught vehicles, weapons, and base defense gun (all the originals, not expansion) as well as all the node/core stuff. Even made many effects like the interior panel effects at 0:41 . It was the greatest artistic achievement of my life, working with them in the War Room back then, and it was the proudest I've ever been, seeing my name twice in the CD credits when it released.
This is one of the most modded games I've ever played in it's prime. Unfortunately with the dwindling player base, so much custom content that tens of thousands of hours of work the community put in to is largely lost or forgotten and will never be played again. Ever heard of Rocket League? It started as a mod on ut2004 called Carball! This was the original "sandbox" game in my opinion. Developers seemingly built entire new gamemodes on top of it to the extent you wouldn't think you were playing ut2004 anymore. Back when game publishers included developer tools and encouraged players to be creative and build amazing things. These days, uploading a mod can get you sued, or a DMCA takedown at the very least.
UT3 also had a great modding community and the game itself was also really good... Well except the story mode But oh well, old epic games is gone forever sadly. I miss them
My heart and soul bled watching you play this masterpiece😅 but nice to see someone in 2023 playing Unreal Tournament 2004...so much memories just flying around my head rn...thanks for the footage❤️
So back in 2004 I was 14 and I used to play this game religiously ! so many memories man. I'm 32 now 😢and I can always remember little random moments and interactions I had like it was only a couple years ago. This was the golden era in gaming for me and I think for a lot of people as well.
Holy CRAP I used to play this all the time as a kid, I was 6 in 2004 so I was pretty terrible at it and didn't even know how to play an FPS game lol. I used to laugh all the time at the DOUBLE KILL narrations and the over the top gore.
Loved this game. Also must note it was proper programmed. I don´t remember any crash or major bugs. Unlike games like Battlefield 4 for example... entered the market full of bugs and even unfinished. But the best : No micro transactions!!!! You payed for the game once and you had it fully!! Awsome times 😁
Amazing that someone can play a full round of Onslaught and never even try alt fire modes or realize that the weapons you start with are borderline useless. At least he managed to figure out which team he was on eventually.
Oh god... I have many memories of coming back from high school and playing this game all the afternoon. Back then it was full of clans and people playing and fragging each other to death. I remember hanging out with some german clans and all. But nowadays it is... barren... so sad to see it like that. There is more people playing UT99 than UT2k4 right now. Playing arena shooters is an art that requires many, many hours of practice and dedication, and require you to sharpen your reflexes and instincts a lot. Onslaught wasn't the most popular mode though. Most people used to play CTF or DM/TDM.
yes all those beautiful memories , played UT2k4 from 2005 to 2009 , came home from school and then played ut2k4 all the time there was also a clan , played in clanbase when I played CTF , we were also TAM and TDM , beautiful times of the most beautiful shooter experience I have ever had
You can now officially no longer play UT from 2004, 2003 and 99 they have pulled the plugs it is officially a nice memory i just tried to watch not played for 10 years but everything is offline i just googled too .
The Avril that shoots really slow is an anti-vehicle rocket launcher, designed to slowly lock on to vehicles. Don't use it vs players. The Link Gun is the most versatile. You can shoot bolts or alt fire to laser down an enemy and the alt fire also charges any constructs you have like when your node is powering up, Link Alt Fire will charge it faster. The Flak Gun is great for bad aimers due to its spread. There is a Rocket Launcher that's red and white that will auto-lock on to characters similar to how the AVRIL locks on to vehicles.
Can't people host their own games like in quake live . I heard they shut the servers down. Is that true. I remember playing this after quake 3 was a bit at the time . Great memories. Played duel . Loved ironic map
Man, you really should have read the manual (or at least a wiki) on the weapons and vehicles before playing this. At the very least you should have probably done practice sessions first. It was hard to watch, and I bet the other players were as confused by your tactics as me. I know that sounds negative, but it was refreshing to see a total noob play for the first time.
unfortunately, Epic Games removed the game from the stores and specifically Steam. You can buy it from a website key but its too expensive :( Thank goodness i own the whole series on steam
that's the boring way of indulging in video games, you end up with games were everyone does the same shit because th'ey've seen it on a tutorial. Makes a lot of game with good potential borring as hell especially those with a focus on strategy and less active skills.

Hats off to you sir, this game is childhood ❤️🙏
Played this offline all the time when I first moved from my Parents house in 2009 because I couldn't afford internet lol.
Thank you Sir! You are the craftsman of so many good memories! Are you still in the gaming industry? A shame Epic Games killed off the whole Genre.
You sir did a good job! Thank you.
Hey thanks for some great times. I played the crap out of this game in the early 2000s

Clearly the golden era of gaming with UT 2004, Warcaft 3 and even CSS in that regards.
UT3 also had a great modding community and the game itself was also really good... Well except the story mode

Did you ever play the deathball mod? That was insane fun
If you watched the making of UT2004 the devs really supported modders, even made a modding contest in which the price was like 2000$ I think
Thats because mods are largely crap. Base deathmatch mode is the heart of this game. The rest is pretty much fluff

nice to see i'm not alone

Yeah! True, true!
Keep in mind that most of the weapons in UT2004 have alt fire. :)

I remember when this game and far cry were the craziest graphics i'd ever seen
UT2004 is the GOAT

But the best : No micro transactions!!!! You payed for the game once and you had it fully!! Awsome times 😁
The only "Major" recurring bug was that sometimes a direct flack shell (alt fire) and rockets would fail to do any damage.
Today all the games modes and skins would be dlc , incredible game and content

This game is kind of brutal. I like it.
"kind of brutal"... Low poly gibs 😂
How'd they go from this to fortnite
Cant believe this was 20 years ago! I miss playing this as a kid and wish i could safely download it and play again
I still boot up my unreal championship on the original xbox, which was basically UT 2003

I cant feel my legs..... medic! lol this game kept me sane back in the day.
best game ever....! how about paly ut2004 ballistic weapon pro mod next? that is also crazy
Here's a tip.
Mastering the shock rifle makes you a GOAT
Mastering dodge jump (and all kinds of jumps there, for what matters) + Shock Rifle = the true key of success in UT2004.
@@rodrigof.r.desouza3587 Parkour map were indeed really hard on this game.
bro this hits SOOOOO hard cant belive its been so long

99 is very much alive
Unreal is forever
