Hi! Sam! Could you ask DJI about max speed assistance for this ebike? As I red new Zealand has 45kmh speed limit opposite 25. Does this motor can ride 45kmh?
First question is how the power delivery and overrun compare to Bosch. It's obvious this motor is easily the strongest obviously beyond Powerplay. So really the only negative side it can have if it's ruined with bad software like Powerplay. But with that 30 second 1000W mode it doesn't really even seem to matter. Powerplay delivers that maximum torque and power in very short bursts of maybe one second. So it's not like you are getting that maximum acceleration from Powerplay for extended periods. It's really only for technical terrain where you have to have that Bosch like instant power and long overrun. Let's watch the video now.
@@SamsBikes Yes thats exactly right. So it sounds like it's slower to deliver power than Bosch but faster than Shimano EP8 or Powerplay. And the overrun is based on distance not time? It does sound like they did botch the software power delivery. Not as bad as Powerplay but still not just copying Bosch's winning formula.
This is the new benchmark. There are more than a handful of bikes that cost the same or way more, and aren't a tenth of the bike. Its the same as the Ramblas, at release there was nothing else remotely close to it.
Surprised you make no mention of the shock. Yoke driven trunnion will put a lot of strain on the shock, I don't understand why they used a trunnion when they had the room not to.
@@SamsBikes Could one in theory have a friend in the UK or Germany purchase the bike then ship a bike to someone in the U.S? Or is this somehow blocked?
@@axiomic But they will be selling the bike with the motor, you can pre order it isn't just a showcase, why would they go into that effort to showcase a motor if they had no plans to sell it .....
36v is out of date 48v is the future. The charge port placement allows for crank interference so not the best placement. power buttons are not set for best ergonomics. Why did you ride the bike with Maxxis instead of swapping out the tyres to Schwalbe? Cadence I agree is too high to get most power.

Great bike and Technology but it's still got a derailleur. For me ( 63kg) it's a bit too light for long 20 min rock garden decents where it would knock me around like my trek exe.I prefer a heavier Emtb for stability and my power (90 nm) to weight (63kg) ratio is already good on my 2018 super quiet 1.3 Levo with manual change Rohloff. (Goodbye derailleur) short cranks and steering head slacker kit also fitted. Works for me but this Ampflow is great bike for the racers and KOM strata chasers.. E=mtb²
good point but trust me a real rider is not thinking about the Pinion motor its way to noisy which isn't really reported in the big reviews that have been done.
@SamsBikes Yes I agree. Silence is golden and that's why I've updated my 2018 levo. Silent, smooth and very natural .Fox 38's 170mm. Two 500wh batteries and a extra brand new sealed upgraded spare motor. Rohloff hub is 👍👍👍. Enjoy the Amflow .. E=mtb²
What size dropper will it fit? Seat tube looks short with that bend in it?
Good question let me try and find out
Hi!
Haha 🤣 did you ask the question before you watched the video
@@SamsBikes Yes thats exactly right. So it sounds like it's slower to deliver power than Bosch but faster than Shimano EP8 or Powerplay. And the overrun is based on distance not time? It does sound like they did botch the software power delivery. Not as bad as Powerplay but still not just copying Bosch's winning formula.
This is the new benchmark. There are more than a handful of bikes that cost the same or way more, and aren't a tenth of the bike.
Its the same as the Ramblas, at release there was nothing else remotely close to it.
Yep for power and wieght this is the new Benchmark
very nice !! 🤩🤩
What's the operating voltage of the DJI Motor Sam?
good question let me try and find out
36V
Shut up and take my money 💰 …
Great Review Dude , As All Ways 🙏🏼 ….
hahaha I know right and I'm building a dream build next week its going to be epic.... Thanks for the kind word and the support...
Looks like my 2003 Santa Cruz Superlight but mine has a cyc proton fitted to it 2000w 110nm and a throttle. 20kgs 😂😂 its a monster ❤
Surprised you make no mention of the shock. Yoke driven trunnion will put a lot of strain on the shock, I don't understand why they used a trunnion when they had the room not to.
Wow... virtually silent at 120Nm! My Bafang M600 at 120Nm is the exact opposite...😝 Also, only option needed in future is 180/170 enduro travel.👊
Take my money!
Take my money too!
Very very impressive as new E-Bike tech but lets see how reliable the engineering is in 8 months or so I guess
Very interesting!!
you know it
When can we pre order in USA ?
not yet
@@SamsBikes Could one in theory have a friend in the UK or Germany purchase the bike then ship a bike to someone in the U.S? Or is this somehow blocked?
@@NBSTL68 yeah it can ship to us
Sam, does DJI have shares in AMFLOW? The reason I ask is, might we expect to see DJI motors in other brands of Bike?
I don’t have any idea but I’m pretty sure we will see this motor in many bikes in the next year!
I thought DJI created the company AMFLOW just to sell their motor
@@SamsBikes I just wanna know who the Aussie distributor is
@@UnderWarranty I'd think that Amflow is started to SHOWCASE their motor...
@@axiomic But they will be selling the bike with the motor, you can pre order it isn't just a showcase, why would they go into that effort to showcase a motor if they had no plans to sell it .....
AMflow website now says 850w peak power. what's the correct data?
All the data in my video is correct
850w peak is lower than bafang m560
Wow that bike is awesome, I want one now, 🤘
Yep it’s a sweet over all system
If I order this bike from New York, How long for delivery
7-12days
36v is out of date 48v is the future. The charge port placement allows for crank interference so not the best placement. power buttons are not set for best ergonomics. Why did you ride the bike with Maxxis instead of swapping out the tyres to Schwalbe? Cadence I agree is too high to get most power.
All I can say is this motor is amazing if it’s 36v or 48v and have a close look at the action footage for what tires I’m running
@@SamsBikes Nice real tyres
Where is the frame SIZE mark shown? Good luck testing an XL frame in China, as most shops carry demo bikes M & L.
Does anyone know what amflow pl maximum drop of 120cm means does that mean max drop too flat at max load 125kg ?
Nice!
Thanks legend
What’s the weight on the lower spec version?
21kg
Anybody know if I can get this DJI motor on a cruiser type mountain bike or something that I wouldn’t be doing heavy trail jumping etc I’ll do trails but not heavy trails I’m a little too old for all that jumping so i would like that that technology
Any advice ?
It seems that self-disassembly of the motor is not supported at present
