The illustrations in Life Before Man are amazing. I read a lot of books with similar illustrations as a kid and I would just stare and project myself into them.
Please take me with you, on a trip to the Brattle. (in spirit - it's a long walk from California)
Oh, I love James Lees-Milne! One of the heroes of the 20th century.
Very nice haul! Those are all the Red Sonja novels. There were only the six. Oddly enough, I don't even think there was a novelization of the Red Sonja movie from 1985. Do they even do movie novelizations anymore?
By the way, did you see the Brattle Bookshop in the movie "The Holdovers?" It was a pleasant surprise to see.
You’re right about Jess Cody, it’s a pen name for Chet Cunningham, which sounds sufficiently western to me too 😂
Steve we need a fantasy event..used to be a show called “Wizards of Waverly Place” maybe “the event could be “Wizards of MAYberly Place?” Swords and sorcery before June’s Cowboys an’ Injuns??? FYI…love your channel, deeply grateful to you and your efforts to boost the booktube community…I have a face built for radio so no channel but love love love your channel and many many others!
I also went to the Brattle today! Though we were in no danger of running into each other, since I'm a slowpoke and never make it anywhere until late afternoon haha.
Nice Haul Steve That Tarzan collection was quite the find.
Some fantastic books there. As they say, so many books, so little time. Investing my time in Mount of Cristo at the moment so I might be a while.
Inspector French and the Tragedy at the Starvel Hollow is book 3 in the series apparently
I saw that there is supposedly a new Red Sonja movie coming this year. Looks like no potato sack but chain mail.
Red Sonja only have 6 , so you have them all. That's great!
